I am trying really hard to remember who here is a DVC member.... we are seriously considering it, but not sure about the difference between buying from Disney vs going resale?

Also, have you used your points for anything other than Disney properties? Given our love of travel and history xploration, we more likely to use points visiting other parts of the country than just florida or southern Calif... you know? Looking at the boards, it LOOKS like most poeple there use the points for Disney only, but I would like to hear from others who have used points elsewhere... do you know ohter places I could find information before we buy in?

I am too. I have never used them for anywhere else though, and don't really plan too, so I probably can't help there. I did buy mine as a resale though. I love my DVC and have never regretted it for a second.

The little girl I sit for that was competing in Murpheesboro, TN, her Mom texted me that she was in the top 10 and they were getting ready to ride again!!!!!!! She never did text me back to say where she finished. Either way, being one of the top 10 riders in the country is an AMAZING accomplishment for an 8 year old girl who has only been riding for about a year!!!!! WAY TO GO JOZEE!!!!!


I am off to take care of the babies!

Trying to relive the Magic with the DCL mugs and the kids drink almost daily from the set-of-3 Mickey and Friends plastic holograph (?) cups.

DH & I also recently acquired OktoberFest mugs from the first-ever beer festival in little old Wake Forest. Hard to believe this town had an OktoberFest with free (and generous portioned) beer samples! Alas, one problem: just two restrooms for all. Hopefully, a line of port-a-johns will be at the festival next year!

Keep running out of steps when we head upstairs toward Deck 9...

DH & I are still "discussing" the 10-16-2010 cruise. He keeps saying 5 years, I keep saying 2 years. I think DD12 will be too old at 17 to really enjoy the cruise (plus she will be a senior in high school then!). I'm hoping to win this battle, I mean, after all, we NEED to stimulate the economy soon, not in 5 years!

Renee, I hear you about running out of steps! LOL I have been SO lazy since the cruise. I don't want to cook or clean or ANYTHING! Now it's starting to really show and I need to get my hindend in gear and get back to reality! We have May 30, 2010 booked, and are still considering the 101610. But Colton will be a sophomore with AP classes. I am still thinking that a week would be too much to miss at that point. At least if we go at the end of May, he can take his finals early and be done. Then we can cruise, spend a few days (a week in my mind!) at the parks and then come home to summer...not more homework, the holidays etc. As much as I LOVE this group and would love to cruise with them again, I am just not so sure it's a good fit for my kids.

The babies are snoozing, so I am going to go and sit on the porch for a bit and enjoy this Indian Summer we are having!

I feel like the oddman out of the bunch since we rebooked for Feb 2010. I'm already thinking of pushing it back LOL. Probably will wind up doing just that. No idea where we'll actually land, But guaranteed it won't be the Baltic cruises.

Those are pretty. I saw a bunch of Bearpaw stuff while looking for cruise shoes. They all looked nice and comfy, and of course NOT IN MY SIZE. Story of my life.

Good Evening All!

Just got back from practice. Even though the day was warm, the nights are cold! Still had to bundle up!

Gas came down 10 cents today, to $2.48! I am going to top off tomorrow. I am at a half a tank, but Steve is afraid the gas will go up after tomorrow. I don't think it will until the economy starts settling down. As long as the Dow is volutile, gas will stay down.

Jozee is on cloud nine!! She competed against 60 other 7 and 8 year olds, in 5 different elimination shows and was placed in the top 10!!! She did so well, and I am VERY proud of her! Once they got the top 10, they only gave ribbons to first and second, so the other 8 have no idea where they actually would have placed. She told her Mom this weekend that she wants to compete in the Olympics some day. I am SURE there will be many more competitions in her future!

Kristin, I remember those types of slippers from YEARS ago, but have not seen them since! Unless they can rub my feet and give me a pedicure, I don't see what the big deal is? Of course, I didn't read the whole thread either. Personally, I have the crocs with the fur inside, and I like them for houseshoes. They keep my feet warm and are a little more "stable" for walking on the hardwood floors. (man, I am sounding more and more like my Mother every day!!!)

Anyone have any special plans for tomorrow since there's no school? I had thought about taking the boys to the movies, but this house has top priority...and of course, we have to be at football at 6!

Gas is at $2.09 here. Rich thinks it'll go up on weds too. a lovely election ploy he says. We'll see.

My only plans tomorrow are to avoid children at all costs. When I left target this afternoon there were actually 4 kids selling Obama T-shirts outside the store. Wonder how long it took an LOD(aka Mgr) to spot them.
