You can't tell around here what will turn controversial. Everything is a competition to some people, and they just have to take the fun out of everything. I'm glad everyone on here gets along so well!!!

I'm glad we have a good group to. It's so much fun getting to know knew people from everywhere and it helps build the excitement.

CRUISE QUESTION - SORT OF

My teens are working on me to let them go to MNSSHP on Friday night. Is anyone going or has anyone done this in the past? They want to show "our" exchange student from Germany the Magic Kingdom in all its Halloween glory. DH and I are looking at the logistics. It would be kind of cool!

Any thoughts?

We did this on our 2004 Disney World trip and it was great. My daughter was only six at the time. She dressed up as Belle and loved getting to Trick-or-Treat the characters. The rides are all open. A lot of people dressed up, adults and kids. They give you a bag and as you go through the park doing rides and the special intertainment there are spots where the characters are set up giving out candy. There is a special parade and fireworks. We had a blast.

I don't know how to post links, but has anyone seen the news articles about the Islamic guy who says Mickey Mouse is a soldier for Satan and should be killed. I guess no one told him that Mickey Mouse isn't real. It's just some kid in a costume. Still, made me worried. Could the next terrorist attack be on one of Disneys resort destinations.

Been to MNSSHP 3 times. With teens who can stay up late, I would absolutely go for it!!! It's great fun, but you need to go in costume LOL!! It's more fun that way! I will say the last time we went it was pretty crowded, but it's still a great time, and you owe it to the exchange student to take them LOL!

I know Alex and Maggie are going on Friday night before the cruise, but I dont know if anybody else in our group is.

Where are you guys staying on Friday?

We are staying at the Residence Inn at the port. Our flight gets in at noon (our exchange student is on a different airline - NWA - and gets in 15 minutes before us) so we'll pick up our vans and haul everything to the hotel, check in, etc.

We have been to MNSSHP 3 times but not the night before a cruise! What Dh is proposing is that we ask my nephew and his fiance to take the teens to the party while we four parents just chill at the port. (He has no desire to do MNSSHP AGAIN - as he put it!). I guess I'd be OK with that since my sister and I are going to be in WDW for 3 days after the cruise.

I'm just wondering about the travel between the port and WDW and then back - after midnight! ANd Lord knows I won't sleep until they get back safely. What's a mother to do????

I hope our docs come today!!! The anticipation is part of the fun but enough is enough.

There is still time to join the game of tag!!! If you are interested, send me a PM and I'll add you to the list! I will add names until October 1! Then I'll decide if we need to do 2 tags/lists or just one.

What is tag? There is a magnetic sign that says, "Tag! You're IT!" when it lands on your stateroom door, flip it over, write the day next to your name that you were tagged and then pick someone that has not been tagged. Take it to thier stateroom and leave it on thier door! and the fun continues!

The kids especially loved doing this. They would always pick someone that was on the other end of the ship!

I feel well rested today, thank goodness!!
Denis got in at 8:30 this morning, then he went to bed for a few hours and just got up at 12 and went back in to work (even though he had the day off) for a few hours maybe until 3 or 4....he's going to burn himself out!!!!!
