You should be able to start disembarkation around 8:00am, plenty of time to get in a full day at that OTHER park.

he he he...Thanks Sandy!! Do you know if Topsiders is open? I guess if we are ready we can eat early in the dining room though.

Hey Howdy Hey!

you are a sad strange little man

There's a snake in my boot!!

Okay enough toy story! LOL Andrew is lovin' Buzz right now. I think I could about repeat that movie by heart. The boys have watched it countless times, now Andrew is stepping in!!

I have a ton of running to do after I leave here and before the boys get home! I just hope I can get out of here a little early...that would help!!!

CRUISE QUESTION!!

On the day we leave the ship.....and I know, I would rather lollygag and take my time, BUT.....we are heading to Universal for the day and want to make the most of it, so we are looking to get off the ship ASAP. HOW early can we leave and Is Topsiders open that morning? we thought we would run up and get food while we get dressed, then book it off the ship to get the rental and head back to Orlando.

Last time Topsiders wasn't open. They were getting ready for the next group of passengers. That's why we had to go to a dining room. You may be able to get room service. I'll let you know, we'll be on the wonder in a few days. I believe you can start to get off around 8 am-whenever they pass customs. I know last time the people lined up to wait to get off.

That's an interesting change. I wonde if it was just your cruise or something that is being done differently. It used to be that there was no room service the last morning and Topsiders was always open. We preferred to eat there, since we always had the main seating and would have had to get up too early. We were never in a rush to leave the ship (gee, I wonder why? ;) ) so at Topsiders we could have a leisurely breakfast and leave after most of the crowds had gone.

My best friend and I was on the Wonder in May and same thing. We had to go to that horrible main seating so early. I'm going to ask about the Magic when I go. The only time I was ever in a rush was we got back into Barcelona and had to go catch a flight.

Wow-just saw the time I have to go pick up my other 2 kids. They have to be picked up by 3 pm. Good thing we live 2-3 miles away. Talk to you all later.

Judy, thanks for checking! I would apprectiate the information. I agree with Sandy though, that I thought you could not get room service the last morning? Topsiders would be great though!

Maureen Update!!!!!!

I just got off the phone with Maureen. When Hanna made her way through her area, a very large tree fell and took out the phone, cable and electric to her neighborhood. The cable and the electric are back, but the phone is still out, so no internet for them!!! I told her I would call if anything interesting or important came up!!!

CRUISE QUESTION

Randy here... Like many of you, we are planning on arriving to the port early, maybe around 10 AM. Our plan is to drop the family off with the luggage etc, and I'll return the rental car. My question is... I have heard that if we arrive prior to the "gate" opening (10ish) we have to wait in line until they let us in. Can I drop the family off and have them wait in line OR do we have to wait in line in the rental car in order to get to the area where we drop them off??? Does that make sense??? We are not familiar with the layout of the terminal. In the L.A. port the cars have access and can drop anyone off with the luggage and then the people just wait directly outside the terminal door for them to open up. Ultimately, we just want to get there as soon as possible and get me back from the rental car agency as soon as possible... Thanks

Good question, I'd be curious too. Not that we'll probably get there before that, no matter how good my intentions.

Randy, if I remember right, we had to wait in the car, then Steve took it back and the boys and I went into the terminal to wait for him.

This year, we will all drop the rental off together, then take the bus back together. then we will all get there at 10!

No problem-I wasn't sure about the room service. I guess that would make sense not to have it so they can rush the peole out of the room. On the Wonder last May our room steward kept checking on us. We had to wait for the gift shop to deliver our alcohol. They had forgotten to deliver to our stateroom the last night. Couldn't leave without the alcohol.:)

Randy-You can drop the family off with the luggage. When my best friend and I went in May we got there early at 9:30am. The security guard at the gate where you go to drop off wouldn't let us in until 10. She told us to go to the lot across the street (think it was an employee lot) and wait till 10. She has a list of all passengers that she checked off as we went in. I dropped off the luggage and my friend and parked in the lot across the street. I'm not sure how it works with the rental car though. I just know that security guard that day didn't let anyone in before 10. Hope that helps. I had never gotten there that early. They weren't even supposed to be checking people in at the windows until 11 am, but there were a couple of workers there ready to go around 10:30 and allowed us to check in.

Randy this is how it was the time we went too.. We got there before 10 and they made us wait in the parking lot. Good thing our driver was agreeing to wait with us since it was pouring rain outside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

COOL.... Thanks to you all for the quick responses...

OK...I'm going to get there EARLY (maybe as early as 930) and drop everyone off and return the rental. Then try to get back as soon as possible to hang with everyone. Thanks again...we can't wait.

Hello everyone! How has everyone's day gone. I am so tired. I believe everyone now knows that I hate Mondays!!!!!!!

For those discussing drop offs on embarkation day. For my one and only other cruise, I stayed at the Radisson. Their first shuttle was at 10:00, and we booked it. They pulled right up to the luggage gate and set us out. It was only feet from where they start letting guests throught he gates. We stood there maybe ten or fifteen minutes and they started letting us in. There were only about twenty people in line in front of us. We went straight in and to the counter to check in. There were about five or six people working the counters. We were completely signed, had taken pictures around the terminal and were sitting on one of those comfy couches watching cartoons by 11:00 a.m. We waited about thirty minutes and they started calling the numbers to board the ship. We were at Topsiders before 12:00. I don't know if this is always the routine, but it's what we had been told on this board to expect and then it was in fact what happened. I'm hoping for the same.

I didn't think Topsiders ever closed...:confused3 I have heard of the gate opening before 10 am, but it is very rare.

I got everything squared away at the CI&S for the pool party. The only restrictions, No Glass, not to loud and not to late....I told them no worries, we are way past those days!!!!!:rotfl2: One eye on the kids in the pool, and the other on our cups!!! They are going to round up something to hook up the iPod to, if not hook it to the sound system around the pool!! She was going to check with the hotel engineer to see what it would take. More later, off to a meeting.

You should be a travel agent, you are so good at organizing and getting information. :thumbsup2

As for Topsiders, it was open on debarkation during our cruise. That's were we ate breakfast. I know for sure that there is no room service. It actually ends at a specific hour late night. I can't remember what it is now.

Off to a meeting @ church be back later on tonight!!!!!!
