October 10-14, 2010 Taking a "Wonder" Break

Did you get everything that you wanted? I was able to get CC open cabana couples massage for DH and I, as well as Palo for brunch (not sure if I'm keeping this) and Palo for dinner on the night of our 10 year anniversary! :cool1:

Ahh..you're doing back 2 back?!?!! I was considering adding the 3 day on as well!! I was just talking to DH about that today-- we're supposed to go back to WDW for 3 nights after the cruise, but for what we will spend there on food, etc. we may as well do a back 2 back!....I'll keep ya posted!

Oh, you don't want to miss Palo brunch....it's all the rave. Yes, we did get everything that we wanted. I'm very happy. I have done the open cabana couples massage with DH before....it's awesome, you'll love it. A Palo 10th anniversary dinner will be very special.

I love WDW, but I love cruising DCL even more. This trip we're doing both. After the B2B cruise, we're doing 5 nights in Orlando. We're staying off property near Downtown Disney. We already have WDW tickets. We're meeting DIS friends on Oct 17th and doing the Food and Wine Fest at Epcot. I'm very excited to get this vacation started.

So this morning I got on the DCL Website an found that two "Secret Porthole" rooms had opened up on our cruise. I emailed outlr TA and she was able to "downgrade" us from an Ocean View room on the 2nd deck to a obstructed view porthole on the 5th deck.

Saved us $200 and got us to an upper deck! Wahoo!!!! Very happy!

So, is anyone interested in doing a fish extenders exchange?

Cheers,
Josh

Good going Josh. That worked out very nicely. We're on Deck 5 also. We're in 5122 that's port side aft. Where are you located?

We were thinking about FE gifts. We haven't decided yet. I guess it depends on how many people are interested in doing it. We'll have to wait and see.

hey

we too will be sailing....my DH and I celebrating our 20th anniversary......cant wait to get ino the sun, its winter here now so looking forward to getting a tan by the pool....

have a great day

87 sleeps till we fly out

How exciting....we're celebrating our 20th anniversary too. Our wedding date is Sept 29, but Oct is close enough to celebrate. WOOHOO!! We should meet and have a celebration drink together.

We're doing B2B too. We're hoping to get Palo Brunch at 90 days out. If you decide not to do the brunch would you hold onto your reservation for us, just in case I'm not able to book it?:)

You should be able to get Brunch at 90 days out. We booked brunch on this leg and Palo dinner on the next leg. Is this your first B2B? It is for us.

When we went on the 5day Bahamas cruise in Sept 2008 I could not get Palo Brunch online @ 90 days out so we'll see if I can this time. Hope so because I'm traveling with one of my sons who turns 18 two days before this cruise & he's excited to check out all the adult areas.

Yes this will be our first B2B cruise too. These two cruises will make my 4th & 5th Disney cruises so I will be "golden" once we disembark. So excited about that because DH & I will be doing a Disney Alaskan cruise in July 2011 for our 20th Anniversary & I'll be able to book Palo etc. @ 105 days out for that cruise!:cheer2:

If my count is correct there are three couples celebrating their 20th, including me and my DH. Ours is the 12th, Ella's was on the 29th of Sept. When is AustralianKaren's? I believe there were several other people also celebrating their 10th. That seems like a lot of anniversaries for our little group, but I am new to this. Is it normal to have so many?

I'm so happy to hear you say that your son will be a newly turned 18 year old. My nephew will be 18 also for just two months when we cruise. We decided to bring him with us. We must get each other's room numbers so they can call and plan to meet onboard. I was concerned because Casey won't be able to go into the teen club to meet others. What is your son's name? I'll tell my nephew, Casey, about him.

We'll even see each other when we check out and check in again at the port for the second leg. That's going to be great!

I think it's quite common for DCL to celebrate many anniversaries and birthdays with their guests while onboard. Everyone loves to celebrate on a Disney cruise.

We should all pick a time and day to meet at Promenade Lounge for a BBC anniversary cheers!!! For those that don't know about BBC's let me tell you that only DCL makes them and they are heaven right in your glass. It's a Bailey's Bananna Colada. I try to get at least one everyday of my cruise coz I won't be able to get any until I get back again.;)

My DH's interest has been peaked. He asks "what is in a BBC?"

My DH had the recipe and lost it, but remembers that the basic ingredients are....bananas, Bailey's Irish Cream, coconut cream, Coconut Rum, pineapple, ice and a blender. It's like a milk shake. It's so good, but very filling. I usually only have one then switch to Caribbean Lemonade's...but I make sure I have at least one every day.

Just in case you're wondering, a Caribbean Lemonade is like a Cosmopolitan but a little more tart. I love them too. Again, a DCL only drink.

We will be there too! DH and I are now 60, raising our 3 year old grandson, but fortunately for us, our son in law is taking vacation that week to give us a break. This is our 4th cruise with Disney, and we are DVC members. We will be staying at VWL and SSR before and after the cruise. Can't wait. Got my Palo brunch booked and my swim with the dolphins at Blue Lagoon.

Someone mentioned 9/11 and being at WDW. DH and I had our vacation planned and were in WDW 2 weeks after 9/11. You are right, no one there. Walk right onto anything at WDW and Universal. It was sad to see. 9/11 surely change how we live.

But onto the more positive..WOO HOO 90 day mark was yesterday, that's how I booked our Palo brunch. Can't wait for the cruise.

We did our first cruise ever on Sept 29, 2001....our anniversary and just weeks after 9/11. We had the whole boat to ourselves. It was enjoyable, but it was also very eerie.

WOW, I'll bet that was really something...I know how depressing it was to me to see WDW so empty, but the ship? That would be a very quiet voyage.

Hi Susan, DH & I were at WDW from 9/8/01 to 9/22/01 so we were there much of the same time as you. We were staying at OKW on 9/11 and it was a somber place indeed. On the evening of 9/18 I was able to ride Thunder MTN a total of 26 times only getting off the ride once & only because I wanted to. Bet I'll never be able to do that again.

WE're staying at OKW for 3 days before this cruise. It'll be my sons first stay at OKW & my second. After 9 years I'm looking forward to staying there again.

I made our Palo Brunch ressies too. DH will be 18 so this will be his first Palo experience. The cruise will be here before we know it.

Is there a party of two that is planning on doing the Atlantis Aqua-adventure water park shore excursion that would like to save a few $$

Right now on book-it.com the Comfort Suites is 1/2 off which includes the Atlantis Water park. Sale ends soon this Friday.

room would be total of $270 (for 4 adults) plus a $17.95 (plus tax?) charge per person for housekeeping.

through Disney the price is $160 per adult & it's a set limited time.

So if there's a party of 2 that wants to go in with us the cost would be about $90 per person plus cost of taxi - & we could share the taxi. Anyone interested?

Well, since it was our first cruise...it was hard to compare. Disney kept us busy....but there were no crowds everywhere we went.

Thanks for the heads up. We're already booked to do the DCL excursion. Since we're a party of 3 that won't work for us. But I'll tell Casey and he might want to spend some time with Robert exploring all the water rides. My husband and I will be doing the lazy river....hahaha. We have been to Atlantis before. We loved it and said that we must go back.

At present we are booked for the DCL excursion on 10/11 @ 9:20 I think. Tried to get the earliest one. You could stll get that deal on your own for 3 @ bookit.com if you wanted. It would be a little less because there's only 3 of you instead of 4. As for the water rides I'll probably do most of the ones that Robby is doing, but I'll certainly make some time for the lazy river too.

We have late dining also & we are in 7541 B2B. If you would like I could set us up to be dining mates.
