Oct or Oct/Nov?

Planning next trip and debating between the last 2 weeks of Oct or Oct/Nov to do MNSSHP and possibly 1st Xmas party (or at least see decorations). Is there a marked difference in crowds or weather between the 2 times? We are hoping for an AP resort discount for POP but it looks like it might be fully booked for Oct/Nov. Is that likely or should i keep trying? We are open to another resort but don't want to spend a lot more.

We did a trip last year that started the day before Halloween and into November because I really wanted to see the holiday changeover. The first weekend in November was a RunDisney event, so the crowds did pick up a bit from Thursday-Sunday. We just missed the first MVMCP, but loved seeing all the holiday decorations going up.
