I'm back to WW. Figured I'd give the new point system a try. Started Jan 3rd. Just spent a week in FL at my mom's. Don't think I lost this week but also don't think I gained. I'll find out tomorrow at weigh in for sure. Good luck with Nutrisystem if that is what you choose. I've got to add in exercise at some point soon. Just ordered the MIO watch to help motivate me. I have plantar fascitis and knee/hip issues so it's not something I look forward to though. Visiting Disney with less pain though is GREAT motivation!:thumbsup2

You might want to try "HTP Heel Seats" for your plantar fascitis. My sister swears by these, cannot wear shoes without them, and has gotten other people hooked on them. They also help other foot pain. You can order them online, about $20 for 2 pair.

We just gave our TA the go ahead to book this...so we will be sailing with you! It will be our second cruise, as we will be cruising in March on the Magic!

Our girls sat with me and watched the christening of the Dream and are so excited about Pixie Hollow and Andy's Room, so we are going to surprise them with that trip. Hopefully we will be able to pull it off.

WW loser here, too. I have so very far to go, but am off to a start. 14 lbs in the first three weeks.

Can't wait to get somewhat caught up on this thread!

:welcome: Amanda and family!!!

I tried to weigh in last night on my wii fit, only to find that the batteries in the balance board were dead and I couldn't. :headache: I will be weighing in today sometime though. I'm not sure if I've lost anything in the last 2 weeks or not, DH seems to think so though.

Congrats Christine! Way to go!!! :cheer2: 7 pounds left, you are doing awesome!

Hope everyone is having a good Monday. Nothing going on here today since DD is sick. No school for her tomorrow either since she still has a fever and must be fever free for 24 hours. There are so many kids sick at her school they won't send homework home, and they aren't making them get the doctor's note after missing three days. Today is MIL's last day of work though so maybe later this week I can convince her that she should start posting on here and meet everyone. :thumbsup2

Have a great Monday, be back to check in after lunch. :goodvibes

Good Morning!
Welcome Amanda!

It's snowing (again) and I have a cold, so I am just lying on the couch dreaming of the Dream. I need to make reservations for our pre-cruise night. I wanted to stay at the Radisson at Port Canaveral, but they are already booked for that night!?!

Thinking of staying at the Hyatt Airport and hiring a small bus (there are 14 of us) to get to the port in the morning.

It's a good thing I love to plan.

Hope you are all staying warm and dry today. TTFN.

Hi Sarah, Have you tried to make reservations at Country Inn and Suites in Port Canaveral? There are a few of us already booked there and they provide a shuttle to and from the Port.

Terry

Well, just sent DH in for groceries and propane for the big nasty blizzard we are supposed to be getting tonight through Wednesday... I had tons of food I could cook or bake, but if the power went out, I wouldn't have much to fix. We do have a camp stove I forgot about though. :rotfl:

Hope everyone else is weathering the storm well!

Kathy, hope you are doing well, I thought of you the other night at the Burn's Supper when Taylor played Amazing Grace on the pipes.

Be back later!

Does anyone know where I can get info on how to make the FE or where to purchase one?

Thanks in advance!
This shows how to make a no sew FE, of course you can sew one by using the same measurements.

Good afternoon all,

Thought I would hop on the boards and see what's happening here since where I work I see nothing but grey cubicle walls. Today is a day I wish I had a window near me to see what kind of weather we are having outside as St Louis is changing hourly with the ice/sleet/rain/snow storm heading our way. :scared1: Thankfully my parents (the saints that they are) have picked up my oldest DS from school and he is safely at home with them and my other DS.

We have a trip coming up soon to head to the Wisconsin Dells to go skiing and as of right now, I can't even think about getting all my ski gear on and heading outside. All this cold weather has me "dream"in of the cruise...

Hope everyone is having a nice Monday!

Thanks, Terry! I will check there. I wasn't able to tell online which ones had shuttles. Great info.

Just wanted to pop in and say howdy. I've been lurking with nothing much to say.

Let's see. Kathy would say for me to introduce myself again. Cruising this year will be me (DW) Tonya and (DH) Trey. Our son is in High School and we can justify taking him out and making him miss all that home work for just a couple days of fun. (plus we like it when its just US) He usually stays with Grandma and gets spoiled rotten. This will be our 7th Disney Cruise and a 5th time Nanahead (sailing in 06' 07' 08' 10' and 11').

To Whom ever is interested. I would be willing to coordinate the Fairy Godmother gifts for a Make-a-Wish child if we have one on this cruise. Luckily we didn't have one last year. Not that we wouldn't have been blessed by the anonymous pixie dust we would have spread but by the fact that there were no sick children designated on our cruise. Just let me know if you are interested. No pressure.

Terry, I'm mulling over the Scrapbook exchange. I've been on 6 cruises and have yet to do an album. I will think about it this evening and let you know soon. I love scrapbooking, but my life lends little time for that luxury.

We in Southwest Missouri are girding our loins so to speak. We usually get a SNOWSTORM from hades once every 15 years and well she looms before us right now. I think a trip to Hobby Lobby is in order before I'm snowed in for 3 days.

I promise to post more often, until soccer season starts, then all bets are off.

I can't believe it's booked up already!! I just made a reservation this past weekend there for the cruise we are taking in April and I got a room!! I've never booked this early for an October cruise. Maybe there will be some cancellations.

I have a question about dining. We have main seating with the 9:00 show. How does this work? Are there two main seating times? Who sees the 5:00 show and when do they eat? the 9:00 show works great for most of us but I afraid my 2 1/2 year old will miss them. He'll be too tired. I remember on the Magic they would sometimes do a matinee show. Do you think this will be the case on the Dream as well?

We too are gearing up for the snow. Some parts of MA are getting close to 3ft!! I just hope we don't lose power. That's the worst!

We are also in MA, hoping we don't get more than a foot. Where are we to put it all :confused3 So sorry we didn't buy a snowblower this year...now there are none to be found :sad2:

We will be at CI&S. Radisson was booked up when I tried, but will probably try again over the next few months.

I did get our confirmation earlier, so we are official! We haven't been on many vacations in the past, so I think we are making up for it now!

Our group is me (Amanda), DH (Dale), and our two girls that will be 5 and 3 at sailing.

Tonya, thanks for replying back about the scrapbooking exchange. I know what you mean about scrapping events in our lives. We went on a 25 anniversary cruise (I scrapped it..way back when there wasn't too much to scrap with, either...LOL), been on 4 cruises siince then...did not scrap any of those!---and two of those cruises were anniversary trips on top of that (30, 35)!! Yikes!!!!

Although......I've recently started scrapping our last vacation water adventure, which was the Disney Magic Halloween, '09 ... better late than never, right? LOL:woohoo:

If it helps you to make up your mind, though, our immediate group (my family and DD's b/f's family) are only on the 4-day sailing, not the b2b. I noticed from your signature area, you will be coming aboard as we are leaving. That makes me somewhat sad because you're also from Missouri and it would've been fun to have another from our state aboard at the same time. Bummed! :sad2:

And I'm with you as far as going to Hobby Lobby. Unfortunately, our storm is impending, too, and I'm now settled in our house all comfy warm and safe. Yay!:cool1:

Trying to figure out the logistics for transport from the airport to port (or hotel). If we come in the night before and stay at CI/S and rent a car at MCO, is there a rental company close to the hotel for dropoff? Or would we have to keep the car and pay port fees for parking for the 5 days? Also when we arrive back is there options to rent a car to take back to Disney? Struggling with finding the least expensive option. There are 4 of us so it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to pay $280 for Disney transport but if it's really the least hassle and expense then I'll go for it. Also will the transport take us back to BCV or only the airport and then we'll have to use Magical express?

Our last trip when we flew into Orlando, we rented one-way car rentals both ways. The cost was less than Disney for sure. We rented at Thrifty for the first leg. The cost for a one day rental was $69.12 from Orlando to Cocoa Beach. The Thrifty Car Rental is close to the Cape Canaveral city limits, which means it's not far to the ship at all.

We were with our daughter, her b/f and son and they rented the vehicle back from Cape Canaveral to Orlando. The cost was a little higher because they booked at a later (closer to cruise trip) date than we did and I think, if I remember correctly, Thrifty didn't have either a van available or they were booked out. Anyway, It cost them about $100. Plus, because we had a lot of luggage, we rented a van both ways. They rented from Enterprise.

We all flew in the night before the cruise and stayed at the Raddison that trip. We dropped off everyone at the port about 9:30, then one of us took the car back. That person was at the Port by 10:00. So it worked out. We also booked a later flight on the return so that we could enjoy last minute shopping at Disney Village and justify the cost of renting a car for that price!! LOL
Just my 2 cents. We found it was easier to rent a one-way rental both ways than to pay Port charges for a car that would sit idle for a week.
