thanks Kathy I hope its away. Wow the week after thanksgiving that seems like a long time. Feels like the colds have been going around the family plus i work in a gym and everyone comes in when they are sick so im always surrounded by germs

Hey that turned out great.:thumbsup2
Was Bob the one filming the entire family?
I didnt think you would go through with it but you did.:rotfl2:

Hi Kathy,

Yes, Bob shot some of our photos and video for us at the Pyramids and for our "dance moves". During our camel ride our Egyptian guide shot the footage from the ground and then Janel had a camera that she shot footage while we rode the camels through the desert.....Bob & Lisa were taking their own camel journey across the desert.

Wow! 201 pages and 14 months late, but I'm finally here. Just booked yesterday! :cool1: Thanks for the invite myelton01

Hello from the Williams Family!!! This will be our kids first cruise and my wife and my first cruise with Disney (twice on Carnival). I guess we couldn't have picked a better year to do this with the beautiful new ship The Dream. We are so excited to say the least. We haven't even told the kids yet but we keep playing the "we might go on the cruise" game and they are very excited.
Sorry to ramble but I am very excited for the trip and looking forward to learning all about Disney cruising and THE DREAM!!!

I've spoken to my wife and DS 12 about possibly going on a cruise this year. DS has cruised on the Wonder and loved it. Needles to say, he REALLY wants to cruise on the Dream. I literally just told my wife 10 minutes ago that I booked it and I don't think I will tell DS at all. I'll just tell him that I priced it and it's too expensive as it's a new boat and we just returned from WDW less than 3 weeks ago. I will tell him though that we can go to WDW for a few days. We'll go to WDW that Sat. before the cruise no matter what (MNSSHP or F&W Festival), then I'll suggest that we take a ride and go "see" the Dream. We were at WDW when it got to Port Canaveral and wanted to go see it then so he'll believe that's our true intent. Then, once we get to the Port, I'll just say "You know what? Let's get on it!"

I wish I could have kept my mouth shut about it, but I couldn't. :lmao: Our kids are beyond excited though! I kept it quiet for MIL, but we told her at Christmas so that she could get her passport and get her vacation from work (and then she decided to retire so we didn't HAVE to tell her this early) and so I could have someone else to finally talk to since I've driven DH nuts already. :rotfl2: I've only been talking about this and planning this for 3 years, I don't know why it's driven him nuts. :confused3:rotfl:

Welcome aboard !!

We did the surprize similar to yours with the grandkids accept we were living in Florida at the time and just brought them out to visit and they thought we were going to cocoa beach to spend a few days in a hotel. That was until we turned into the port.;)
try to have DW running a video camera without the kids knowing just to catch their comments and hopefully she can get their faces when they actually realize whats going on, thats what we did. I just turned it on without them knowing it. I love listening to the surprize now.
If they would of caught me I would of just said I wanted to get a shot of the port as we drive by.

There are a couple of us that are going to MNSSHP prior to the cruise. I think it was on the Friday prior this year though, just so you know...

the offical dates haven't come out yet. However, I looked at all the passed years and they don't seem to have MNSSHP on Saturday nights. I will be there on Friday:cool1: They usually start selling the tickets in May.

One of my daughter's friends is heading on the Dream today. Her Dad is one of the Disney Cruise entertainment acts on some DCL trips, and he is performing on the ship this week (Glen Foster). Of course, my DD had no idea when she left for school that her friend will be on the Dream this afternoon. I'm jealous!

Side note, has anyone see Glen Foster perform on the Magic or Wonder? We always seem to miss him when he's on board.

Is there going to be a meet at MNSSHP?

Just a helpful hint...If you're planning on going to MNSSHP on Fri 10/28, be sure to get your tickets early. This date, as well as 10/30 & 10/31 will sell out mid Sept at the latest. Of course 10/30 & 10/31 are out for us as we will be on the Dream!!!

Speaking of helpful hints, is there a Florida discount on these tickets? (I have family in Orlando that I can have get me the tickets if there is.)

There are some dates that open up for annual passholder or cast member discounts (never seen a FL resident offer for the hard ticket events), but they are for the early party nights (Sept, and may be a date or 2 in early Oct). I have never seen discounts for the 6 dates before Halloween or so. The parties that typically sell out in advance, Halloween and a few dates prior, generally won't have any discount tickets available. We buy ours when cast discount tickets are available, and we generally try to go in Sept, as the crowds are a lot less, and so we can take advantage of the discount.

hmmmm... That's very good to know. I was planning on asking in March about that. Guess I will just buy the tickets then instead. Thanks Stephanie!

Not only are there no discounts but the dates we could go will probably cost more $$$. I went on Halloween in 2009 and it was $10 more than the week before.

Thx...I asked in a diff thread and was told it was the fri and mon around Halloween this year (2010). We were there this year over Halloween and that was what I remembered it being also. Maybe it depends which day Halloween falls on?? I prefer saturday, myself.

disneymagicgirl, that sounds like a great plan. I wish we would have been able to get down there a day or two earlier than Saturday afternoon to do a Disney Park or MNSSHP but we're surprising them with a trip to Universal IOA at the end of the cruise. It's really for my wife as she's a huge HP fan and wants to see the new addition. Since we took the huge trip to WDW last year I'm fine with spending our last day with Harry Potter.

I think I'm getting more excited about the FE list and getting that and all our magnets made. My daughter is so excited about all of this and now she keeps saying "Dad, it's not if we're going on the Disney Dream Cruise it's when". She's a smart girl:)

We're springing it on them after this weekend!!!
