Judy, I'm not sure how you counted us - but you can count us as a couple. We live together.

I have a FE question (this is our first time participating in one). If there are two of us in our stateroom (which there are) do we give 2 gifts to each person or one from our stateroom? Thanks!

**FE Update**

For those keeping track~

We have added two families to our FE Exchange!!

sssteele has 2 adults cabin 6624 and have late dining

JKSWonder in a GTY Cat 6 2 adults, Allison 9, and Michael 4 they currently have late dining but are hoping to switch to main.

Also, tinkerbelltwins has switched to main dining.

Let me know if you have any questions!!

Has everyone weighed in on dividing the group?? So far the comments I have seen are all for leaving the group as it is.

We actually found out yesterday that the wait list came through and we are now in main dining! :yay:

That is completely up to you. You can choose to give one gift to each person or to do more of a one gift from the two of you to the group in the stateroom.

We did the gift from both Janet and I and gave per stateroom not per person. It can get very costly and have many gifts if you opt to give to each individual. FE is very fun; enjoy

I counted you as two singles, but I can change that to a couple if you want. You are part of the 6 singles total that I did.
For your other question, if you are there as a couple, then one gift from you vs one from each of you is fine in my book. For me, I give couples one gift bag with enough in it to share. But for singles, I give each their own gift bag.
Last year I put a deck of cards in each couples bag as I didn't think they would need/want two decks of cards when they are part of the same family. But I did put in two chocolate bars ect.... You are travelling with your Sister? I think I'll be doing up a gift for each of you rather than one to share.

I was doing one gift for the adult couple or one gift for someone designated as an adult single, plus different things for any teenagers or children in the stateroom. I might put the stuff altogether in one gift bag per stateroom to make it easier to deliver.

Nothing too big, but the thing I chose to do for the adults would not be interesting to a teenager or a kid, so I was doing something else for them.

I was planning on shipping all the stuff to the port before hand (and praying that it all gets there!)

I am thinking about it the right way?

WE HAVE MAIN DINING!! Just contacted my TA to ask her if it had come through for me. She said she sent me an email months ago to tell me it went through, but I didn't receive that email (for some reason, email from my TA goes to my junk folder instead of my inbox, so it's possible I missed it). Anyway, I don't know if that means we are WITH you Kim, but I'm SO happy to have gotten Main Dining! YAHHHHHHH!

I was just as happy when I found out ours come through!

We do one gift per stateroom also. :thumbsup2 It is totally up to you how you want to do it. All gifts are appreciated and it's all about the fun!:goodvibes

Glad to see some of you on the wait list for main dining are getting their requests honored!! :thumbsup2

I don't know what how we would have done dinner if main dining hadn't come through. 2nd seating is just too late for my 6 year old to eat. Chicken fingers, fires and pizza are ok for a lunch or snack once in a while, but for dinner, I rather my kids eat a decent meal and together as a family. Just SOOO happy it came through. We linked our Reservation with Kim (eyesformickey), who had first seating. My TA says our request came through back in Nov. Well we booked early November and linked the resy's by the end of the month at least, so perhaps that exactly how we were moved to 1st. I do hope we are table mates Kim, I think that would be awesome!:)

I bought them a few weeks ago but, now with the lower rate you found we can all have breakfast at the hotel too!!! I have $200 in gift cards which will leave a nice amount towards breakfast after the room is paid for.

We wont make it poolside. We will fly in late Friday night as I don't want to pull the boys out of school. Maybe we'll run into each other at breakfast in the morning.

Breakfast would be fun! Are you planning on catching an early DCL bus? Is that the thing to do, get to the port early to get all checked in to enjoy the ship when it opens up? I need to go back and read the thread comments about all of this!

We plan on spending one night at the WL after our cruise so the children could get a tiny dose of the Magic Kingdom. I switched our plans after reading all the comments about how crowded it would be with the Halloween stuff going on that Friday night. We'll do the Halloween stuff at WDW on another trip.pirate:

I am planning to do an adult gift as well as separate gifts for the kids. I also want to add another gift for single travelers that are in the same cabin, like my Mom is traveling with us, I would like her to feel like she is getting a gift as well.

I think it's an individual choice as to whether you want to give a gift per stateroom or make it more individual and give separate gifts.

It seems like i'm doing the same. I always ship down ahead of time, much easier. I have the kids gifts divided up by ages. Something for the adults, usually a couples type gift.

Will we know ahead of time? If we're not I hope we have the same rotation.
Glad it came through either way. :)

Hi Beth,

We usually take Car Service over to the port, as it's cheaper and you don't arrive at the same time as the crowd from the bus. I've used Happy Limo for the last 2 and been very happy. We just take a van, which is the cheapest, we wouldn't fit in a towncar with all of the luggage. Last year we got lucky and on the return they picked us up in a Hummer Limo at the same price!!!

Hi Everybody,

I lurk around in the background reading the posts and chiming in when I can. Been pretty busy for someone who is not working right now

I don't mind a big group for the FE. It's not a problem for us to get them all out. The trick is not getting caught! Which we did get caught a few times last time and we also caught a few. It was so much fun.

The gifts don't have to be large or extravagant. A postcard from your hometown with a little info on the back is a great gift. A keychain, magnet, a little something that your area is known for...we are not far from San Francisco..salt water taffy would work.

221 days to go. I purchased our airline tickets into Tampa today. If the house is empty, we'll stay there. If not, we'll probably stay in Cocoa Beach the night before. Already have our rental cars lined up. SWA only released booking dates through 10/30/2010 today. I can't figure out yet when they are going to release their winter flights. I don't really like booking this way, but I like the flexibility should I need to change the tickets and that we are able to check 2 bags each. Not that we would need that many, not us!:rotfl:

I just checked DCL and we haven't been assigned a cabin yet, really didn't expect to get an assignment yet, just looking. October seems so far away...I can't wait!

Since we are on the west coast, late dining has always worked well for us.:thumbsup2

Hi,
The return flights will be available on June 10th. They will then sell tix through 1/7. I booked our flights today too, going down on 10/29, can't beat Southwest.

I realized I have been a bit tight lipped about this lately so just wanted to give everyone a quick update on where we are:

I am still looking around the web for designs. I have been very interested in Lanyard Lab, which is a company run by Ricky Brigante of the Inside the Magic podcast. The prices are very reasonable but selection is somewhat limited for orders of under 100 pieces (which is where we are at this time). I am really trying to keep these reasonably priced but also as useful and attractive as possible. When I find 3-5 different designs I will post them and we can get a consensus on what style the majority prefer. If anyone knows of a company that makes lanyards or has any recommendations on styles, types, anything... please don't hesitate to let me know! :)

At this time I plan to have designs narrowed down and hopefully we can make our choice by the first of May. I will accept payments until Aug. 1 and then have the order in by Sept. 1. :thumbsup2

So...that's where we are on that. As soon as I am feeling a bit better (another nasty cold ...ugh!) I will post a list and make sure I have complete and accurate info of participants!

It really isn't all that far off! ;)
