Three Things...Gratitude Thread

I have been to WI. I have no memory of it but toddler me had a fun time repeatedly saying Sheboygan. So, sticky…

Packing tape- great for packages, resealing Christmas tree boxes at the end of each season, and good for gift wrapping if you’re out of scotch tape.

Craft glue- I like super glue but craft glue is a little easier to manipulate and easier to remove if it gets on my skin. I recently used it on a toaster oven handle.

Hairspray- Nowadays, I just use it to hold down the flyaways when my hair is in a messy bun but I had massive hair in the late 80s/early 90s. I don’t know what I would have done without hairspray. It also is good for bugs…in my case…spiders. I can’t get close but a good stiff hold hairspray will stick their hideous legs together to keep them fleeing out of sight.

If you're off work or school today, Happy Presidents' Day!

Today's Topic (Mon, 2/16) - 3 snack foods you're grateful for

Good Monday Morning Friends
We’re on the downward slope of this month being over.

I’m not a big snacker, so I don’t have much to list

#1 - PRETZELS - I love pretzels! I don’t snack on them all the time, but when I do, I really enjoy them.

#2 - CHEX OR LIFE CEREAL - I used to snack on this when I’d be driving a lot for travel softball.

#3 - STRING CHEESE - My all time favorite snack when I’m hungry to sustain me until my next meal.

I can make meals out of snacks actually I prefer eating snacks over meals

Grapes with some cheese and a little bit of honey
Apples and peanut butter

Cheese and crackers

M&Ms and some milk

A granola bar

A banana

A small bowl of dry Chex cereal

Trail mix especially the mocha coffee kind delicious

I could go on and on but my favorite snack is Reese‘s peanut butter cups ❤️❤️❤️ I can make a meal out of those and a glass of milk

Skinny Pop - I usually have the 70 calorie bags handy. They are just enough to hit the spot for salty and crunchy without hurting my daily goals.

Caramel or Apple Cinnamon rice cakes with sugar free apple sauce- Also low calorie, a little bit of dietary fiber, and hits the sweet and crunchy spot.

David Protein Bars- These things aren’t cheap but are only 150 calories, have a whopping 28 grams of protein, have sweetness and crunch factor, and do a good job of curbing candy bar cravings. Barebells, certain Pure Protein flavors, and Quest Crispy Cookies and Cream also fit in this same niche for my snacks but they’re all less protein (still good macros/ratios) and some are 30-50 calories more than David.

Honorable mention- apple slices dredged in peanut butter powder, apple pie spice and some vanilla bean paste.

Afternoon all,

Another big snacker here, love a snack and have to usually be very careful and manage what I snack on  I'm going to focus today on the current healthy/healthier snacks I try and eat daily rather than the junk I'd prefer to be eating!

1. Freeze dried fruit - I get very bored and fed up of some real fruits (bad I know), so I've started buy freeze dried fruits, mainly apples and strawberries, as my mid-morning snack and they really help giving me something to nibble on instead of a beaten up, too ripe apple or banana.

2. Skinny bars - I love these bars as a nice afternoon or evening snack, they come in lots of different flavours and types and while they're not quite as decadent as a proper chocolate bar, they're all well under 99 calories which always helps!

3. Mousses - these are my go to after dinner (aka dessert) snack. I have a sweet tooth and I have to feel like I'm having a dessert most days and these really hit the spot. I usually have either strawberry or chocolate, and the Aero Choco-Hazelnut ones are the best and again all under 90 calories a pot.

Also throwing out an honourable mention to flavoured hot cross buns. Not sure if they're a thing in the States but over here we've got some great flavours like triple chocolate, neopolitan, white chocolate & raspberry, apple & cinnamon etc... I buy far too many of these in the run up to Easter! Sadly they're not healthy though.

Wheat Thins tomato and basil crackers. I am addicted!

Ice cream. It’s a classic for a reason.

Any kind of hot and spicy chip. My favorites are jalapeño kettle chips and Doritos Salsa Verde, but so long as it’s hot and spicy, I will give it a try.

These look great !!! I wish I could get them in the US. It says Aldi has them as well as Amazon but it appears to be UK and Denmark specific.
