If you need any ideas for restaurants while you are in philly let me know. There are a lot of great restaurants in olde city.

.....ok - we will be housed at Hyatt and Penns Landing (on the waterfront). I am taking a ferry across from the hotel to see the USS New Jersey (day three of trip approx at 2:30pm). After that, I would love to head out and find a great place to eat.
So yes, I am open to suggestions as I have never been up to the Philly area and am lookin forward to it. And yes..... I promise N-O-T to be wearing my Tony Romo Dallas Cowboy shirt when I go:lmao:.

No, Tony Romo jersey would not be a good idea...

You can walk across Columbus Blvd and head towards Olde City. About a 10 minute walk. The hotel can direct you once you decide on where you are going. What are some of your favorite cuisines? The area by the Hyatt has just about every type, some good and some not so good.

If you have time there is an old schooner (The Moshulu) that has been converted into a restaurant and cafe that is pretty neat. We haven't eaten there in a while so I can not attest to the food but it has become very popular.
www.moshulu.com/site/main.asp Not sure if we are allowed to post llinks.

There is so much to see and do in the area where you will be.

I have to try a cheese steak while up in Philly :cloud9:. The old schooner has caught my attention - thank you. question: what kind of food do they serve there?

my interest in food? Ranges from Hamburgers to salads so I am all over the map (but I reallt want to try different things so I am open to suggestions) but again - hey! A huge thanks for the suggestions:thumbsup2.

This time tomorrow we will be waiting for our plane to the Happiest place on earth:cool1: We are going to BLT for two nights and treetop villas for four nights:thumbsup2.

On the cruise note.... We are saving money by having a inside cabin. As of now we are in Cabin 7629. We like this location because it is right by the stairs that lead to the "private deck" and the buffet. I can get some breakfast and bring it down to the deck and eat it there.

Too bad the ABD does not dive you time to go to south Philly. If it does you have to try Pats or Geno's.:cool1: I do not know if I could do that tour. It would be cool to do but with my car and not a bus. Where in NYC do you go?

take lots of pictures of BLT to share with those of us who haven't been there yet. We are so jealous...

I agree on Pat's or Geno's but Tony Lukes has my vote...:yay:

I am soooooooooooooo used to a 28 inch suitcase and a 26 inch suitcase (the 26 inch suitcase WAS to be used to carry my dirty laundry). So - in the spirit of chillin out over this, I have decided to bring a carry on (duffle bag) & use it to house my dirty laundry since I really wanna spend time in a vacation mode and not mess with doing laundry; esp soooooooo late into the vacation.
Agree? Disagree? need opinions please on this or should I just chill out and do some laundry when we all roll into The Great Wolfe Lodge (williamsburg, Va which is 48 hours prior to my departure back into Texas).

.

My mother travels with Space saver bags. She's puts her clothes into them, rolls them to get the air out & seals them tight. She then puts her dirty clothes back into them the same way. They save lots of room and she travels with the smallest suitcase I've ever seen! Hope this helps

Have a great trip!

The link doesn't work, but if they are the same pictures as on the Disney Cruise Line site, I'm expecting a wall. To be honest, I feel safer with a (then) 10 year old and a wall.

That's becuase for some reason they are blocking the site. Have no idea why, since it's a great source of resource and Barb is a frequent poster on this board.

So, Chuck, how are you feeling about your new QB?

I knew a team would pick him up, but never thought we would. Oh well. I am not thrilled about what he did, but he did his time and I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. If he is really remorseful about what he did he would donate a portion of his millions to the SPCA or some rescue organization.

Guess we will see how it plays out.popcorn::

I would be careful because we still have a 50 pound limit if you are flying. Might want to weigh the suit case once it is packed.

I totally agree. I would have thought that there would have been some expectation that he would fund a rescue group with a % of his earning for a large number of years to come. Some folks seem to have all the luck. Lois

The new guys are fitting in quite nicely as you can see by the post counts.

And I wish Vick well, except for when they play my Cowboys.

The only place in that area that I can think of for a cheesesteak (and I am not sure it is there anymore) is a place on the south side of market Street between 2nd and 3rd. The conceirge at the Hyat may be able to helpwith that. There are a lot of great restaurants in that area on 2nd street and On chestnut street.

I added a link to my previous post where you can find the menu for the Moshulu. They are a bit pricy but a pretty cool restaurant. If anything you can always have a drink on the top deck.

I think that you have the rational mature view , but I admit that, on this subject, I can’t be either. I’m from Pittsburgh and can’t believe we considered him. I can’t imagine what he could possibly do to make up for what he did. I do acknowledge that he can do a lot of good working with the Humane Society as he plans to do to keep kids from doing the same. I hope to god he is sincere and not just trying to rebuild his career.
Can he be court ordered never to own another dog? I hope so.

By the way, I LOVE Philly. I lived in Wayne when I was very young.

I would have to agree but i have only used the ones that you need to suck the air out with a vaccuum.

How does this work with no vaccuum?

the only thing I can think of is at the end of the cruise with all the extra weight gain, I could just sit on the bag....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

OH.....

Tellme about it....

DISNEY vacations are the reason i am fat.

Each cruise i gained at least 7 pounds and never recovered and our 2 week trip to Disney didnt helpmuch either.

I am tryin to loose at least 7 pounds by Oct 19 i dont know if i am goin tomake it.

MAYBE BY NEXT OCT 19
