Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

Kind of confused. :confused3 When I go to the DCL site there are no 2012 dates listed so how is Ron checking the prices? I must be missing something. :rotfl:
Check out this thread for what little pricing info is available. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2578406

For the dates of the Fantasy. Go to Disneycruise.com click on ships. Then click on new Disney Fantasy. It has western and eastern. Click on one of them and then click on sail dates.

I saw the Fantasy section on the Disneycruise.com site, I just couldn't figure out where you were getting the prices from. Thanks, that explains it.

:welcome: mclan and family!! Glad to have you sailing with us!

Question for Jen and Janice!! Are we all going to have a group photo done, somwhere, somehow? Is the meet the ideal time since most will be there, do you think most of us will be there? We're going to try and get a group photo at Nachi, for all of us who will be there, but on board would be nice too, as there is even more to the group. :)

I think we should, and I agree right at the end of the meet when we are all there is the best time. Maybe at 3:30 we could all head out to the Atrium and take the shot there? I love the group shots by Helmsman Mickey, plus you can get a much better perspective on the group from slightly above, as opposed to a direct on shot of everyone smooshed together in the PL.

We would need someone to volunteer to take the photo... :)

One time the owner of the travel agency I use was on board while we sailed. He spoke to Shutters and made an appointment to have a group shot in the atrium. Of course the photo was sold at Shutters, but most didn't mind the extra cost.

I could ask him to see how hard it was to arrange.

Ugghhh, what else is coming our way? I have a sore throat again and feel feverish, Dh is sick with a bad cold. And DS17 calls today saying he doesnt' think this program is for him and he thinks he failed a midterm this morning. I called the College today and spoke with someone in student services who immediately set him up for an appointment at lunch time with an Academic Counsellor. He called me back after that meeting and said he is dropping his course load to 60% so he can finish out this semester, then he wants to move back home, get a job, and try again some other program next fall. UGGhhhh. :confused3 I think having him home for Thanksgiving made him home sick? He never mentioned any of this while here.

Oh well, He'll at least finish this semester with some good grades, and a few College credits in his pocket. This means one of us has to drive 16 hours away to fetch him and all his stuff, all just before Christmas. Flying him and a duffel bag home for Christmas was the original plan.

Anyway, change of subject. I'm working on a Journal for DS7 to keep while on this vacation. Which of these two restaurants is on the Magic? Lumiere's or Tritons? My memory just isn't working and I've got to go entertain some kids right now.

Sorry to hear about all the "fun" you are having. It will all work out in the end. Good to focus on stuff like a journal. Magic - Lumiere's, Wonder - Triton's.

We did that on our last cruise and it was an additional $79 service charge just to have them there to take the photo. It is a "specialty sitting fee" or something like that. We also had to set it up at a different time and day which resulted in less people showing. And then of course the $20 each to buy it.

Of course like any Shutters photo ops onboard you can take one with your personal camera at the same time. It was a nice photo, but I think we could do it ourselves with decent results- plenty of folks have nice DSLR's now

This is the only one I could find from that cruise offhand- it isn't mine as we couldn't make it to the shoot being on Thursday-not great quality (obviously it is not the Shutters one, its' one someone took with their camera-) but it is a great example of good positioning, IMO! :thumbsup2

Ill make these updates - what day is your birthday? I turn 48 on 10/30 :cool1:

Hey, sorry to bother and thank you for updating the FE Group C List for us but you listed Deanna as Birthday, It's not Deanna, It should be Dana (Deanna's mother) she is part of the Paul & Dana room, Her birthday is the two days before the cruise but being celebrated on the ship.

Funny That is Janet and I just to the right of Mickey (looking at the photo) in the middle. That was a great shot but it was difficult to get everyone together at the same time.

My DSLR has a timer remote I can try and figure out how to use. My tripod is big and bulky, but I'd planned on bringing it anyway. I'm not the best yet at setting that camera for indoor use, but I'm willing to let someone else set it for me if they want. With the remote, we can all be in the shot!! I just don't know about setting this up on a deck up, and leaving it there to take the shot????? Perhaps we can stop someone not in our group, to camera sit it for what a few to 5 or so minutes???

Can someone confirm Judy and Martyn's cabin? I think it's listed as two different ones on the FE lists I have.

TIA!

It's one of the biggest (well probably THE only) regret I have from that cruise..is not making it to the photo!! :sad1:

I agree that someone with a DSLR can take just as good a picture.

For sharing purposes, I can, if you like, upload photos to one of my websites so others in our group can download them in their raw (original) form for printing.

Facebook, Photobucket, and many photo sharing websites reduce the photos for web viewing which in turn makes the photos less than print quality.

Just a thought...

Jeff
