Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

We also dress up for Pirate Night. We are also dressing up for Halloween & I'm wondering if everyone goes to dinner dressed up or if they wait until afterwards.

We're wearing the pirate costumes to dinner. We did last fall, and I don't recall if there were other adults in the dining room or not in costume. Our waiters dress up as pirates so that was enough for me to not worry what others were wearing :thumbsup2

Thanks, I've called Happy Limo & she seemed to have no clue as to what time they normally pick people up at the port and as I've never had a service pick me up before I'm not sure what time to schedule for. I was looking for some guidance from her & didn't receive it. Maybe it's like calling Disney, you need to keep calling back until someone can answer your questions. :)

I'll try the other business and see how that goes.

We have main seating for dinner so we'd be in the first group to disembark right? Or does that not matter? What time sounds reasonable to be picked up?
TIA

Early seating means first off which if all goes well will probably be around 8:00 AM (sometimes there are delays, but usually not a big deal). You have to be off the ship by 9:00 AM or at least that is when DCL would like to have everybody off but again there can be snags.

We have main dining, but go back to our room afterward since we are never in any hurry to leave (who is?). We do leave a little before 9:00 which is when I schedule pick-up.

Southern Elegance should be very familar with the process.

Hello everyone wow the trip is getting closer cant wait i am ready for konk cooler lol. Soo i was wondering are u all dressing up for halloween or pirate night i know the kids are but didnt know if the adults are as well i dont think i want to dress up as i hate to buy over priced custumes i hate spending 50bucks on something i will wear once but thought to see if the majority is dressing up at all?

Missy and I would love to dress up as Belle and the Beast (yeah, if the shoe fits) :goodvibes

The Beast costume would be hard to find and harder to pack so we hopefully will come up with something that doesn't cost too much and is easy to take along.

im right now leaning on a minnie custume or a snowwhite custume since i have dark brown almost black hair and think it would fit. but i am totally undecided cause im thinking maybe i should just get a pirate custume since i can get away with it on halloween day and pirate nigh instead of a halloween custume that i dont know where i would wear it to really

BTW, I called DCL (twice) yesterday to find out about sending a box to the ship. I have come across posts that say you can only send a 12x12 box, well my shoes would barely fit in that, so I decided to call. I was finally told there isn't a size limit, so now I'm very happy b/c I can send our costumes for Halloween & pirate night down ahead of time if I can get myself organized enough to pack them up.

Sheri,
It was a toss up for me b/w the two companies Jeff mentioned. I tried both websites and got confused. No surprise there, my computer illiteracy continues. Sigh. So I called HL and spoke to a very knowledgeable person. She asked me about our dining -- we have main --so I learned from her that we would be disembarking in the early group (guess the late dining disembarks last?) She advised me to list 8:15 as the time to mention on the website form. I was also told that the company would email or text the phone number of the driver the night before as they have to wait in a holding area (just like at airports) as security is tight. When we disembark, Steve (the holder of the cell phone) will say "we're here" and the driver then comes around and picks up.

So that's what we're doing with Happy Limo. I had originally gone with DCL as our transport over to WDW, but after talking to Jeff and Missy about time constraints with that transportation mode, I switched right away. For a few extra dollars you get a lot of bang for your buck as opposed to waiting around for the bus to fill. Plus who knows how many bus stops it will take at WDW before your hotel gets selected? Yikes on that possibility, especially with my feisty six-year-olds who will be chomping at the bit to see the fairies over in Toon Town. So I say go with HL or Southern Elegance. Either one will probably be a thumbs up over a bus.

The twins will be in full garb for everything. Mommy has fielded so many requests for different costumes and yes, I did put my foot down with costumes that had attached hoop skirts underneath. It would have been a nightmare to pack, plus the luggage will get red flagged by airport security because of all the strange looking metal. So...the girls are dressing as Minnie (me too) and the jury will be out on whether my husband will don the Mickey attire. I can already predict he won't be wearing the white gloves nor the yellow shoes. The adults won't don their garb until after our 7pm Palo dinner (thank you Judy). As for pirate night, well, the twins will be ready to climb the sails in their pirate princess costumes. As for the adults, probably not costumes as I'm pushing my luck with that on Halloween.pirate:

We will be in our Pirate garb for dinner. I'm pretty sure we will be in costume for dinner on Halloween. The ten of us are going as characters from Toy Story and I want to try & get a group photo before dinner. We are having lots of fun with our costumes.

Thank you for the advice regarding the limos, that is on my list of things to complete today.

Hey, Can I get 3? I hope I didn't miss again. I can't PM you as I do not have enough posts.

Also, we will have a FE on two doors, 6516 & 6518. Is this okay?

I am sorry to say that I have gotten many PMs in the past 2 days supporting both sides. Since the official date has passed, I'm not going to be able to add you to group B. . . But. . . I am willing to start a group C.

Please still hang your FEs out - A lot of us will have extra's and hopefully you will get enough for your kids to really enjoy the experience!

Also here are the deck plan downloads. (Janice could you link these up page 1? Thanks!! :worship:)

MEET & GREET PARTICIPANTS

mvlimmex (7)-2 adults, 5 children-12, 8, 6, 3, & 6 months
neener (5)-2 adults, 3 children-11, 9 & 2
tjbaggot (4)-2 adults, 2 children, 13 & 7
sssteele (2)-2 adults, both kids at heart

Fish Lips will not be taking reservations for several days around our stay due to the air show and launch. I was told we could call around 3PM on Friday, and they MIGHT be able to get us in. They also will have limited seating because they have a haunted house set up on the lower level.

I spoke with a nice young lady at Grills Deck and Tiki Bar which is located very close to Fish Lips. They take reservations only until 3:45PM in the afternoon, SO I BOOKED IT FOR US.

What do you think? I know there is a ship leaving port around 4:30, and that is cool to see. Are you all OK with the time and location? They have quite an extensive menu, and will work with any allergy issues we may have.

I guess we can always call Fish Lips and see if they can get us in. We have been to Grills and enjoyed it very much. That was maybe 2-3 years ago.

Let me know what you think.

Bummer. My wife and I were talking and don't think we can get over to the port that early. We are doing AK that day and last time we were there we actually were there until park closed. We are staying at a hotel down the road by Ron Jon. Anyone, gonna chill at their hotel poolside or something? I would love to meet some of you before the cruise.

:):):) Thank goodness - a departure date 3 little weeks from today!

I just wanted to know if we will see any of you at the MCO Hyatt pool on the 29th! We will be up there with the entire group!:cool1:

No prob...remember I will have just a listing printed "just in case" anyone forgets their list- I put the newest group as Group L for "Late" ;)

I will only have a very limited number of copies of that list only (no maps) at the Dis Meet- please only for those who have forgotten to print/bring their FE info!!

Just a reminder: I can see not everyone has downloaded the files yet- which is fine... they aren't going anywhere- but just to reiterate everyone is responsible to download and print out their own FE listings/maps! :)

Thanks Joanie! That sounds just fine to me! :thumbsup2

Grills is a pretty cool :cool2: place as I recall. I can't speak for anyone else, but DH and I may hang out there for a while. If it is fabulous weather, we may be by the pool at the Radisson. Let me know if you want to try to get together.

Maybe we can all extend the Grills party over to the Radisson pool afterwards....lol...it is a nice pool, just saying... :rotfl2:

3:45 LOL, how long do you think we can stretch that out? I can have my boys bring their DS's to occupy them. We can start with Drinks, some munchies, then around 4:30 order dinner? Think that would work? But then some of the group has Little Little tykes that might not sit around for that long? The haunted house at Fish Lips sounds like it would be entertaining to some of the kids. I don't know, we'll go with the flow. (though I was really looking forward to FISH LIPS) Could we try calling FISH LIPS at 3 (isn't that the earliest we can check into our hotel?) and if they can get us in we could cancel the Grills one, and if not, then I guess go to Grills?
