Oct 30 2010 7 Night Western (PART 2)

Hi everyone!

Well, from what I have heard, only four of us (Lisa0503 at 11& me at 11:30) were able to score Palo Brunch on Thursday at 11:00. But I know alot of you are planning to try at Rockin' Bar D on embarkation. If you do get a Palo ressie, I will need your info- then I can link us all together when I board. I will be in cabin 6058, and I will be boarding at about 12:30- but I guess that won't help until after 1;30 pm. So how about this- send me a PM if you are going to try for a Palo Brunch ressie, and I will PM you back with my cell phone. If you get brunch, you can send me a text with your name & confirmation # that day and then I can try to link them all together at a big table or tables next to each other. I will even try for the Private room- which I was unable to book ahead of time because we need 12-14 confirmed guests for that.

Good Luck!!pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Hi Podsnel,

I PM'd you back in August. I managed to get brunch but goofed and only made it for 1 person. Tried to go back immediately to fix it, but none available. My plan was to "fix" it when I got on board - but worst case there would be at least me (DH can fend for himself!). Strangely, our docs show a ressie for brunch for 2 people - so I don't know if DCL just assumed it should be and fixed it or what! I wonder if I should still go and talk to the Palo folks when we get there....

I wanted to thank Ron for all the help.
Thanks,

Me too!

Well, I feel like it's REALLY official now- last night I switched my Passporter over to all the cruise stuff...stuck all the confirmations for mnsshp, car rental, limousine, room stays, cruise excursions, etc, in all the appropriate pockets- I LOVE that thing!! Anyone else use a Passporter to get organized?

I do! I bring all of the pockets to the front and pull out the port info for where we will be and put it behind the pockets for each day. I did a little of it awhile back but I need to finish that up (print all of our stuff, etc.) Also since I will have a lot of paperwork for Lanyards and ToT I have an organizer binder too. :thumbsup2

Umm...I'll let you know as it gets closer our plans might be changing. I'll be coming no matter what, but Nemo might be working.

OK, no problem! Hope he is able to get off!! :)

Does anyone know how many families ended up signing up for FE Group B? I looked for the link on the first page of the thread and it's gone!

I found it, I don't know if it was just reposted or if I still had post one in an old window (I have had this window open at least all week...:rotfl2:)

Also here are the deck plan downloads. (Janice could you link these up page 1? Thanks!! :worship:)

Password for all of these files is the first initials of our cruise name (Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Cruise) plus the first initials of the words Fish Extender, in all caps with no spaces.

I don't have a Passporter but will be looking out for one. I am organizing our binder though. It is a double binder with 2 sets of rings in it. Cruise stuff on one side and precruise on the other. I even found some coupons for some of our favorite restaurants. :thumbsup2

I went through the navigators from a past Western. So many things to do on board...I get so excited just thinking about it. I just about started crying though when I was looking at Friday's with the "Till We Meet Again" picture on the front. I am not going to want to leave!

We leave for Florida in 16 days!

Would someone mind sharing the name of a trustworthy limo service in Orlando? I feel like I'm banging my head on the wall when I call and they act as if they don't know where Port Canaveral is. TIA

I haven't used them myself, but I have heard a bunch of people on these boards mention Happy Limo.

I just Googled them. Looks like they are based in Orlando, but go all over Florida, including to the port. Their website listed a rate of $115 one way for 4, or $220 roundtrip for 4.

Two of the more popular towncar/limo services for DCL cruisers is Southern Elegance and Happy Limo.

Update: Looks like Southern Elegance is not allowed to be posted on the DisBoards. Let's try this link http://www.***********/

Not that one either: OK type in www .selimo .net without the spaces.

Good luck,

Jeff

We have used Happy Limo a few times when we have stayed at Universal and have been happy with them. If you do use them they offer a discount for MouseSavers readers - just mention MouseSavers when booking.

I'll be dressing up! I love wearing costumes, so definitely won't miss an opportunity like this. This is our 4th cruise and I've dressed up each time. Sometimes, there are only a few adults (although always enough that I didn't feel totally crazy!) and sometimes there are TONS. The photo below is from the Eastbound Panama canal trip in 2008 - you can see that many adults went all out :)

Pirate night, yes we are all dressing up. I made our costumes for our cruise last fall, so may as well use them, for future cruises. :) As for Halloween, no, I'm not dressing up. (I think maybe more adults dress for Pirate night than do for Halloween) DH and I may wear a t-shirts with the Halloween Logo for our Cruise, or we might wear those ones for boarding day. Not sure. Has anyone else made t-shirts with that logo? When are you planning on wearing yours?

Thanks, I've called Happy Limo & she seemed to have no clue as to what time they normally pick people up at the port and as I've never had a service pick me up before I'm not sure what time to schedule for. I was looking for some guidance from her & didn't receive it. Maybe it's like calling Disney, you need to keep calling back until someone can answer your questions. :)

I'll try the other business and see how that goes.

We have main seating for dinner so we'd be in the first group to disembark right? Or does that not matter? What time sounds reasonable to be picked up?
TIA

BTW, I called DCL (twice) yesterday to find out about sending a box to the ship. I have come across posts that say you can only send a 12x12 box, well my shoes would barely fit in that, so I decided to call. I was finally told there isn't a size limit, so now I'm very happy b/c I can send our costumes for Halloween & pirate night down ahead of time if I can get myself organized enough to pack them up.

We also dress up for Pirate Night. We are also dressing up for Halloween & I'm wondering if everyone goes to dinner dressed up or if they wait until afterwards.

I am making some T-shirts with the logo but have not made them yet. (Hopefully this weekend!!)

We are wearing ours on embarkation day, as we have orange/black/yellow colored tie-dye shirts and dresses for Halloween.

No costumes for us, we have Palo that night. :)

hmmm ... I hadn't really thought about dressing up for Halloween. DS11 is being the Mad Hatter. If it sounds like other adults will be doing Halloween, then I could join in :) A couple pieces from my pirate outfit can double as a witch costume - would just need to bring a different shirt and the hat!

I am making t-shirts with our logo for my family to wear on embarkation day. I've printed them out on the transfer paper, just have to do the ironing now.

Yep, I managed to convince DH!

For pirate night, we all have some sort of skull and cross bones t-shirts that we are wearing. As for Halloween, the jury is still out. The kids yes. My DH wants to (Halloween is his favorite holiday). I'm the hold-out. I'm not usually into it. But if all three of them are dressed and I am not, I think that will make me feel weird. This is actually one of those last minute things I am doing. We will go look at costume stuff this weekend. I do have a Halloween t-shirt (that I wore to MNSSHP in 2008) that I will wear again if I decide not to go the costume route.

We have our pirate shirts that we'll wear for pirate night. Morgan is bringing her Twister costume for Halloween, but DH and I won't dress up.
