If FD is offered will Thanksgiving week be blacked out?

I received the FD pin last week. Thanksgiving is blacked out; dates are for 10/3 -11/23 & 11/28-12/24. We are staying 11/28 - 12/4 so upgraded from POFQ to AML. Regular dining plan for moderate and duluxe and QS for value.

I'm hoping to go in Dec with DD & 2 of her friends that have not been to WDW. We set up an email account in her friends name and she got the 20/30/40 pin yesterday. We didn't book yet. We set up another account for her other friend....still hoping for the free didning pin.

Just go to disneyworld.com then click on sign up or create an account in upper left hand corner. Once you make the account make sure to fill out all details in your profile. I read the chances are better if you put you've never been before or put your thinking of staying off site. I got a pin code about 5days after I made an account and filled everything out.

Last year we arrived the Saturday before Thanksgiving and we had free dining for the entire week.

I'm going end of Nov beginning of December 2010 and am hoping for a room discount, haven't received any pin discounts.

I just thought I would let everyone know that I had received a pin for late fall free dining with blackout dates over Thanksgiving 11/24-11/27. I did call today to see if I checked in on 11/23 would I have free dining over the blackout period.

And YES, the CM said I would. So for those of you looking for free dining over Thanksgiving, as long as you check-in by 11/23, you can have free dining for up to 14 days with a minimum of a 2 day ticket, at least with the pin offer.

We wanted to go starting Friday after Thanksgiving and stay for 10 days. But that is not possible with the pin. Now we don't know if we should check in on Tuesday and stay for 14 days or what... Only issue is that rooms at the Pop are up to $43 more per night for Thanksgiving week.. bummer .. cause we need 2 rooms. So not sure what to do.

That's good to know. I've been wondering how it would work with the blackout IF they offer FD to the D-VISA folks or general public. I'm HOPING for a pin!!! I've already made my reservation for that week so I guess that limits my chances of getting a PIN.

The way I read the dates was price based on travel dates. 10/3 - 11/23 are considered "Regular II Season" and 11/28 - 12/16 are "Value Season" - as in room rates. I plan to call today and get more info, will repost when I do.

I'm hoping to be able to go in October or November, so if I got a nice % off room rate, or 4/3 I would be thrilled! I should probably call tomorrow and see if I have a pin attached. and maybe make hubby a profile w/ his email as well. I don't really care about fd, bc I'm too picky for most of the food at the "good" restaurants anyway. qsdp might be okay...but I think a room rate would still work out better for us...we don't tend to spend a lot on food.

Not true, I've got reservations set as well and I still get pins - just keep your fingers crossed!

I finally got a Pin from Disney!! Unfortunately it was not for FD, but it is a "monster of a deal".....40% of rooms at all resort levels for most days end of Sept thru Dec. It saved me $117 because I was only able to use it for 10/7 thru 10/9...still hanging on for free dining because it's a bigger discount for my trip!!

It's for Oct - Dec with blackout dates with 2 different dining plans for 2 different level hotels.
