Oct 24th, 4 nights on the Wonder... who's in

Will DCL mail luggage tags to us or is there a place to print them off online? We printed them off for our Carnival cruises. I'm also wondering if I should ban DD from getting the mail for the next 2.5 weeks, as we're trying to keep this a surprise, and I'm worried we'll get something in the mail that will tip her off.

Mine were in my documents packet. I'm sure you can get them at the port as well??

We haven't gotten a documents packet yet, but we just booked this past Friday so I'm guessing if we're lucky we'll have it by this coming Friday.

Where can I buy magnetic tape? Staples?

Thanks!

I get mine at Michaels or AC Moore.

Spent most of the afternoon printing/laminating door magnets and putting FE gifts together. DD and I had fun putting them together. They're all packed now (in their own carry-on) and ready to go! One more thing to cross off my to-do list. I hope to have everything done a week before we leave so I can relax and enjoy the pre-cruise days....

Or you can come to my house and help me pack, finish my FE, etc. Where are those darn mice when you need them?

If I'm really organised I'll have everything done a DAY before we leave - any chance of some help over here as well!!!!!!! :rotfl:

well..I finally have confirmation of my annual leave request , in order to actually go on this cruise:cool1:
I like flying by the seat of my pants eh!

let the REAL planning begin...:hippie:

Anyone want to join me on the Castaway 5k? I don't plan to run it but maybe jog/walk it.

Thanks, but 'waaaay too much like exercise for my taste. The closest I plan to get to anything that resembles exercise is lifting my adult beverage to my lips. :drinking1

My exercise will consist of repeated laps around the food buffets. :woohoo:

Where did all this time go? Seems like I've been waiting forever(ok, since April 1st!) for this trip, and now it's only 2 weeks away! I've been fervently reading all I can on these boards ( there's where all my time went...) I so want to be organised and not look like a "first timer"! My hubby thinks I read and worry too much! :confused3
Ordered anniversary shirts for me and my hubby-hopefully they will arrive on time-he's even agreed to wear it! He won't, however, dress up on Pirate night! pirate:
Working on our door decor- he thinks I'm nuts! But I guess I'll bring him anyway!
Any last minute advice for a nervous first timer who is cruising without children?
Maybe we will meet some of you while on board, even tho we opted not to do the FE- sounds like fun-maybe next trip?

We were you, last year. I started gathering all my cruise stuff weeks before. This year, um, well, yeah, gotta get that done. We'll probably take a lot less stuff this time.

Just realize there's no way to do everything. Check your navigator each night for the next day and decide what you most want to do. We never got to the clubs last year b/c we wanted to see the shows. This year, since the shows haven't changed, we're going to hit the clubs.

We made sure to take some time to just relax, too. One of our favorite things was ordering coffee from room service and sitting on the verandah drinking it first thing in the morning.

Whatever you decide to do, you'll have a great time!

I actually think I need to start packing today! (Or at least begin gathering up the necessary items.) Next weekend is busy too as DD does Irish Dance and we have a competition over in Chicago that will take all day Saturday, which leaves Sunday and then a few hours that following Friday to get everything packed and loaded. Uh-oh.
I'm glad I'm done planning my itinerary for the cruise. "Take DD to Oceaneer Lab. Sit on verandah with beverage. Eat."
Is anyone else staying at the Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach the night before?

Too excited! We hit the road in 12 days!:drive:

Lol! I like your itinerary. Mine is pretty similar, except it's just DH and me.

We're driving down on the 22nd to spend a day with my parents in Orlando, and to leave one of our dogs with them. Long story why he get's to stay w/ Grandma & Grandpa while the others go to "doggy camp." I thought about going to the coast the night before, but we can't beat the parking rates and security leaving our car that their house. ;)

Our itinerary will probably be similar, except we don't have a verandah, so maybe the "secret"deck on deck 7 (our cabin is near there) will be open for early morning relaxation! We don't plan on overdoing it, it's a vacation and we both run enough for our jobs! And with no kids, it's up to us what we do! I guess empty nesting isn't all bad!
I am wondering, are the pictures at Shutters reallyexpensive if we just order a few? And are they really tempting to buy?:)

So I put my FE together this morning. O...M...G... I am SO going to get kicked out of the retirement home in 30 years for my inability to do crafts! Just hoping it doesn't fall apart... And I have to get my gifts together... yikes! :scared1: Where did the time go?

I know I read someplace about the "You mention it, you organize it" clause attached to the "Are we having a Meet and Greet?" question, but has one been organized and I may have missed that post?

Caught the DCL show on the Travel Channel this morning. Even recorded it on the DVR. DH watched it TWICE.:banana::banana: After watching it I was kind of disappointed that we won't be dining at Palo but that's yet another excuse to book another cruise, right?

Anyone else hiding the cruise from their kids? I don't think DD has caught on. If anything, she thinks we're heading to WDW. Hope she's not disappointed when she finds out it's a boat.

I've been MIA for a while, sorry! I am so excited to get away-it's been a rough couple of months. I'm starting to pack for the kids now. I probably could re-read what I've missed but can anyone answer a couple of quick questions?

1. Is there a pirate dress up night?

2. Is there a Halloween night?

Thak you for being patient with me!

We still haven't told the Girls we are going on the cruise. I think the oldest may suspect something, but not exactly what. We were putting the FE stuff together last night and had them shut out of the room and the were trying to peak in to see what we were doing.
We have our magnets, journals, and autograph books printed and bound. Cruise clothes are out in the unused bedroom. Passports and birth certificates in safe place. Think that is about all done now. We still don't know where we are staying the night before, or if we are going to do a stay and park thing or park at the port. Have done it both ways, and have be satisfied either way.
We did make arrangements for the 2 four legged children, they will be staying at my daughter's for the week we are gone. Hopefully they will survive without us, they are quite the spoiled children.
