Oct 24th, 4 nights on the Wonder... who's in

Cruise docs arrived today! <whew>

We'll be decorating our door, too. DH actually likes doing stuff like that.:thumbsup2

Hi! I just found this board and have been finding out lots of great cruise tips! We have sailed on 2 non-DCL cruises but are super excited for this cruise! We have never done a FE before, but it sounds super neat and I am so glad I found this before the deadline. Pls include us!

Me (Amy), DH (Andy), DD15 (Allegra), DS13 (Drew - it will be his 13th bday!), and DS9. At least I am able to add some boys to the trip:)

We will be in 8062.

Thanks! Amy

Welcome aboard Amy! I have updated the FE list with your info. Please check to make sure the info is correct. BTW, I didn't get your youngest son's name. Do you want it listed as well? Just post it in a reply if you do. Again... :welcome:

yes - sorry! His name is Henry. I am so excited reading all the FE ideas and creativity. Thanks for including us! It will be so much fun!

Just ordered my FE...the excitement is building for sure!

Thanks, Amy

:thumbsup2 I've added Henry's name to the list.

It IS really fun! You're really never too old or too young to get a kick out of it. Don't forget to decorate your door too!! My DD13 and I like looking at the different doors while we're delivering gifts. It's all part of the DCL experience!

Yes! We are reading all the door decoration posts too. Apparently, we need to catch up, but it makes counting down the days much more fun!

Ok, I have been reading and reading on here about FEs and getting lots of ideas for gifts, but I also keep seeing references to the "rules" re: FEs but I am not able to actually find the rules. Can someone tell me what they are?

Thanks! Amy

Hi!

I don't want to participate in the FEs or door decorations (party pooper, I know) but I would like to meet everyone if there will be a cruise gathering. :cool1:
Or is the gathering only for those participants in the FEs? :confused3

The only rule I know of is the "no home made food" rule. (It has to be pre-packaged, store bought stuff. DCL's rule.) Never seen 'FE Rules' before.

Also... and this isn't a rule but rather a tip... use a zip-tie or whatever you call it to attach the FE to the fish. It'll help deter folks from stealing it.

Of course not!! I don't think anyone has suggested a meet yet. The 'rule' on that though is.... if YOU suggest it, YOU organize it. :rotfl:Which is how I ended up with the FE list. Speaking of which, you should totally join in! There aren't going to be a lot of folks. Maybe a dozen if a couple more sign up. It's cool though if you don't want to. It's just something else on the to-do-list you have to worry about before the trip. It's fun though.

Sending you a PM, DLBDS! (I had to post this here cause I needed 10 posts to be able to send you a PM.)

Thank you! Went shopping today and found some great things! However, it was hard to decide!!!

I thought I saw something (a rule?) about the size/width of the FE, but I'm not sure where. Any one know where I might find that?

WooHoo - one month from today people!! :yay::woohoo::bounce:

I had a beautiful, long-winded, thorough explanation posted here and when I went to preview it the Disboards informed me I wasn't logged in and then crashed.:confused3 Sigh...
Long story short - had plans to go to WDW Jan 2011 just DD and myself, had to cancel due to DD's school's New AND Improved attendance policy on Family Vacations (jerks.) so DCL here we come over her Fall Break instead! Why DCL instead of WDW, you may ask? Meet: My Husband. (He hates WDW.) Cruises make him happy, and as I had paid for the majority of the WDW trip with Disney Gift Card scrip which has since been refunded to us, this is our option. And the DCL... LOOKS... GREAT!!!!:woohoo::yay:
Minor delay in booking however, have to wait until Friday to actually do the deed, but I wanted to get in on the FE Exchange! Please add us in and I will get back to you on Oct 1 with a room number (I hope there are still rooms this Friday:scared1:)

Tim (Dad), Andrea (Mom), and Maddie (DD, age 9) - no allegies unless you're planning on unleashing bees upon us and then trying to repair the damage with penicillin. :rotfl2:

We are driving down from the South Bend, IN area (Sorry folks, we are not ND fans! Our alma mater is Indiana State University in Terre Haute and our football team and ND's should probably try to play each other as they would at least be able to tie up the game. Sheesh!)
We are also planning on visiting Harry while in the area. :yay:
Did ya'll see the release on the Halloween festivities onboard? Can't wait! This is going to be the longest week ever (until we are booked Friday) and the longest month ever!
Feel free to PM me - DD would like a penpal if anyone's kids are interested.
Thanks everybody!

Oh yeah - we are celebrating a few things:
Our Anniversary - 14 years
Maddie's 10th Birthday - a little early, it's Dec. 1
Tim's Bday is in November but I think he may be avoiding it this year...:rolleyes1

Welcome aboard, Andrea! Your info has been added to the FEE list. We just need to know your stateroom number when you get it. Thanks for participating!

Copied from TheMouseForLess....

"CELEBRATION, Fla. (Sept. 2010) – Disney Cruise Line will treat guests sailing during late-October to a spook-tacular good time as the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder transform into a ghoulish wonderland filled with hair-raising events and activities. Guests of all ages will delight with special decorations, unique menu items in the restaurants and themed dance parties on deck.
The Halloween happenings take place on the Disney Magic cruise departing Oct. 23 and 30 and on the Disney Wonder cruises departing Oct. 17, 21, 24, 28 and 31.
Here is a glimpse at the treats awaiting Disney Cruise Line guests this Halloween:
• Trick-or-Treat Trail: Young guests are invited to participate in a trick-or-treat hunt exploring multiple decks of the ship and collecting candy from various stations.
• Haunted Parties: Following the trick-or-treat hunt, families will gather at the Goofy Pool for a fun-filled Halloween costume party – Disney Cruise Line style. The world-famous Disney Characters will join in the fun, wearing special Halloween costumes just for the occasion. For adults, the nighttime entertainment district on the Disney ships becomes the ghoulish setting for a costume contest and party sure to bring chills to everyone.
• Spooky Movies: To get guests into the spirit of the season, Halloween-themed movies will be shown in the Buena Vista Theatre, on the Ariel Vision screen by the family pool and in guest staterooms.
• Ghoulish Delights: Disney Cruise Line chefs have conjured some very special treats for Halloween, including chocolate cake with pumpkin filling, spider cakes and “Witch’s Brew.”"

Just wondering.... Any adults here going to wear a costume? I'm thinking I may just wear normal jeans/t-shirt and dress it up a bit with some 'pirate accents'. What're you all gonna do? pirate:

Hmm... gotta think that one over. Last year they had trick or treating on the cruise, but not all the rest.

We're going to MNSSHP on the 28th, but I wasn't planning on bringing my costume on the cruise. My folks live in Orlando and we leave our non-cruise stuff there and swap out b/w the cruise and parks portions of our trips. I was just planning to wear a head scarf, t-shirt and shorts for the Pirate party. Now I'll have to decide if I want to bring the whole MNSSHP get-up, too.

Thanks for posting this and the FE link, DLBDS!

Welcome aboard Andrea!

(28 days to go - not that I'm counting. :bounce: )
