Oct 24th, 4 nights on the Wonder... who's in

Too excited to sleep these days!! I cannot believe we leave in 8 days! I'm in the same boat of too much to do and no time to do it. I hope this is a productive weekend. Have all my FE stuff laid out on the floor. Not sure how I'm ever going to pack it all - hope everyone likes everything, pretty random stuff but I did try to get creative and even slightly crafty (very slightly).

I think we decided that we need to identify whose room is most central and use them as a posting place if anyone gets upgraded. Anyone know how to easily figure that out? Or if anyone knows they are pretty central, feel free to volunteer - I'd be happy to volunteer, but we are at the very end of the ship (if that really matters).

Been a rough week at work - this trip is seriously keeping me going.....

Is this an offer to organize a meet? ;)

Oh, did we ever come up with a plan for anyone getting an upgrade at the port? Not that I think we're going to. DH almost had a stroke when I gave him the total for the Visa bill this month. I think the cost of an upgrade - like, oh, I dunno, to a suite - would do him in completely.

Looking at the deck plans, I think EvilQueensRock (6566) looks like a decent (mid-ship) location... it's near the elevators/stairs, on the same deck as the majority of folks and on the same 'end' of the boat as the majority of folks (if that makes any sense.... closer to one end than the other). Is this ok? Just my 2 cents worth. It totally doesn't matter to me. :confused3

Goin' out to clean the chicken house and trim the lantana that's threatening to take over the sidewalk. Pre-cruise chores. MUST be done before I leave. Fish aquarium is on the to-do list tomorrow....

BTW, Andrea... my nieces used to do Irish Dance. I never got to see them but I heard they were really good. I saw pics so I know what all the fuss is about. They looked really cute in their outfits. They've since moved to an area that doesn't offer it (her DH is in the military).

Is there still a chance of getting upgraded?

I know absolutely nothing about upgrades but I would think that nothing would be set in stone until you've checked in. Again, I'm no authority on upgrades. Just sayin'....

Are there plans of a cruise meets anywhere? Or are you all talking about FEs? I'm a bit confused. In any event, we will be in Room #6551!! pirate:

No meet has been planned that I know of. Just talk of one. I was suggesting that EvilQueensRock's stateroom be the go-to place if there are any room changes once we board. It's for the FEExchange. Just in case someone gets moved, we'll know where to deliver the FE gifts 'cause it'll be posted on that stateroom door.

I've gotta get off of here and do what needs to be done! Such a procrastinator I am......
:rolleyes1

You can sleep on the transatlantic flight, right?:scared: Your week sounds as crazy as mine!
No need to iron, I'm sure Cinderella's mice will pop in to each cabin and do everybody's ironing; it's got to be included in the price of the cruise :laughing::laughing: (Gosh that would be GREAT.)
It's going to be so much fun - going to MNSSHP is a great way to kick off the cruise. We'll probably still be driving at that point (18 hours in the car, what were we thinking???:scared1:)
(mani-pedi. Very important.)

oh God! I forgot about my hooves...something else to panic about...although those girlies in Walmart do a bang up job in a hurry...and Walmart is definatly on the agenda pre cruise

As for ironing..well..i am not given to random bursts of ironing, infact i hate it, but we have 2 days in Orlando before the cruise, so i SUPPOSE i'd better atleast make a little effort in making my family not look likre they have slept in their clothes. Once onboard it will all go to the Mice in the DCL laundry, we are only planning to bring enough clothes for 5 days in total ( to save space for shopping:rolleyes1 on the way back), so everything will need washing at some point onboard. But the ironing can go to the laundry. it is worth every penny.
still have to really think out lightweight costumes for MNSSHP...

I'm game if my mom agrees.... which she probably will.:thumbsup2 I'll tell her one of you is from the UK. We both love an accent! :)

3pm in the Promanade lounge sounds good to us, depending on the mood of the least one, (faith)

Sounds good to me!

You can add me to the panic club! Tuesday I was told I would not be needed to sub-teach next week - the regular teacher would be back Monday. So I'm thinking, "No money, but I can take my time to pack for the cruise." Big sigh of relief. HOLD ON THERE... At 1:30 today, the principal told me the regular teacher will NOT be back and they need me next week.:eek::eek:

I know this will sound vain, but I really am the only person in their network who can handle the groups and the subject long-term. I had let them know I wouldn't be available from the 22nd to the 1st, so they're already trying to find a sub for the sub for that time. I really want to keep a good relationship here - I need the work til I can find something permanent but...

AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! I've got to get packing!!!:eek::eek: I found this gorgeous material and was going to make a pair of pants to wear to Palo, but I guess that won't be happening now. :(

Oh well, one week from today we'll be in Orlando!! :woohoo:

I was thinking our cabin (6566) was probably the most central. It'll be the one with the most redneck FE you've ever seen...

We'll be at the meet at 3 pm. Sounds good. I'd like DD to meet a couple kids before she moves into the Oceaneers Lab...

We made it to Chicago in only 3 hours tonight! (Thank you, construction team, for bringing I-90 West down to one lane and creating 5 miles of gridlock - it was a fabulous time to get to know my family again :headache::headache::headache:, and to prep us for driving through Atlanta...) DD and DH are passed out in the hotel room, but I did the driving so I'm still wound up. Hope I can get a few hours sleep - we have to be at the convention center at 7:15 am. I am SO looking forward to "no schedule required"!:yay:

I don't know how DCL does upgrades, but we got an upgrade when we cruised Carnival last year - moved to a Cat. 11 Suite for $$$- the only major bonus was getting to board before the unwashed masses and not having to wait in the cattle call line for 2 hours. Bigger cabin too. Would I do it again? Ehhhh.... not sure

Alrighty then.... I've added this info to 'the list' on page 3 in case there are still folks that haven't printed it yet. Thanks, girl! And hey, if you hear snickering outside your stateroom door, it's just me and mine giggling at your FE! :rotfl: <just kidding ;)>

DH is English...from Wiltshire...farming stock, accent to match, although i cant think of anyone (famous) off hand that you may be familiar with with a similar accent...unless you are familiar with the comedian Jethro :rotfl2:..or The Wurzels.:lmao:...actually, being a bit harsh, his accent isnt THAT strong, aklthough we are passing through Wiltshire to drop off the dog a couple of days before the cruise, and he does tend to 'go naive'
I, on the otherhand, am a native Glaswegian, with the accent to match:lovestruc
You probably wont understand a word i say:confused3

Please laugh :rotfl: becauce that's what I did when I got done "creating" the FE... I just didn't want to order one, and I cannot sew at all, so I got creative with some yarn, poster board, zip ties, and collapsible Halloween buckets. :scared1: I think it pretty much confirmed DH's suspicions about me needing to be in the loony bin.:rotfl2:

Hey! Guess what time it is? Time to pack!:cheer2:

Ok, if that turns out to be the case, I'll just nod and agree with whatever you say. :rotfl:

Ok, ALMOST finished with the FEs. I have been picking them up and working on them and setting them back down for a long time but it is crunch time now! I HOPE to have them all finished and packed tonight. Then, tomorrow, I plan to start packing. We leave on Friday so tomorrow is my last full day home to get things done....not that I am complaining!

DH claims that after about 4 beers he'll be able to understand you:drinking1:shamrock:

With Canadians for parents, I grew up around enough Anglo's to understand almost every dialect.

This would also work. Or maybe I'll just look for a Babel Fish.

I got creative with some yarn, poster board, zip ties, and collapsible Halloween buckets.

Rethinking that offer to let you sit by me at the nursing home, Andrea. This sounds strangely reminiscent of a few parties from my college days. Or should that be reminiscent of a few strange parties from my college days? :scared::crazy2:
