Thanks, Hilary! I've added your info to the participant list above.

Well, I just ordered my FE gifts. Had to do it... they were 50% off! Couldn't pass up a deal like that. Because they were on sale, I was able to order 40 instead of 20. Whatever I don't give out, I can use on next year's cruise. Can't imagine more than 40 folks will sign up at this point. If anyone is interested in knowing what I got, pm me and I'll let ya know. I know some folks like to be surprised so I won't say it here. I would love to get this as a gift though. Very useful. Cost was $1.40 each (including shipping).

I am still waiting on my cabin number. The system has not assigned a cabin to my family yet. I want part of the FE. I bet the kids will love it.

Kara (Mom) Scott (Dad) Kasey (dd age 6 ) and Marina (dd age3) no food allergies.

How this all work ? I been reading post and think I understand it for the most part.

Thanks for the info! You can post the stateroom number when you get it.

As for how it all works, you need to buy or make something to hang from the "fish decoration" outside your stateroom door. Just google "fish extender" and click on "images" to see pics of fish extenders that other folks have created. It can be anything.... Even a simple brown bag with handles that you or you children have decorated. You can also order one on eBay. Just do a search for "fish extender". (This is what I did. gradysmommy is her eBay username.) Then you need to figure out what kind of gift you're going to give out. You'll need at least one gift per stateroom. It can be anything. A lot of folks order from Oriental Trading Co. (I did this last year.) Some folks make their own gifts... cd's, picture frames, soap, post cards etc.) Some folks prefer to give a gift that represents them.... Like a tiny bottle of maple syrup if you're from Vermont for instance. Just do the math and make sure you're not gonna break the bank buying whatever you decide you want to gift. Also, keep in mind the size of your gift item. The pockets on the FE's aren't huge.

You'll have a list of participants before you go with their DISname and stateroom number. Use this to deliver your gifts.... you can deliver whenever you can fit it into your cruise schedule. You can put the gifts in a large bag (I used a beach tote bag.) although I've seen some folks using small pieces of rolling luggage to deliver theirs. There were about 80 folks on my last cruise and some were making deliveries at the same time.

Hopefully I've provided a clear picture to how it all works. If you're still a bit fuzzy just say so. As they say.... there are no dumb questions on the DIS!

You'll soon find yourself a DIS addict! I'm actually celebrating my birthday on board (on the 25th). My advice would be to read everything you can on the DCL forum here at the DIS. Also, read the DCL FAQ "sticky" at the top of the forum. I'm sure you'll find it very helpful...

Still surprised by how inactive this cruise thread is.....

Got my FE gifts in the mail the other day. They look pretty cool! Think I would have chosen a different 'layout' if I had it to do over again but I am pleased with these. Hope you guys find them useful. That said, I really screwed up when I placed my order.... I ordered way more than I'm going to need. I thought I could use the ones left over for next year's cruise. Well, minutes after placing my order, it finally dawned on me that these say "October" and next year I'm cruising in May. Why did I do that?

Anyone else want to sign up for the FEE? I have PLENTY of gifts!!

Hi everyone - was hoping we could get the info from Maza and LydiaAch. I'm starting to put together my stuff and would love to know the details of who is participating. So far no boys which is interesting (kid boys, not husband boys)
DLBDS - is your mom participating? I can't tell from how the names were posted. Thanks everyone, I'm getting sooooo excited. This trip can not come fast enough!

I'll send them a PM and see if they respond.

My mom isn't gifting but we're sharing whatever we get in our FE with her. My daughter and I are doing the gifting.

I'll label the names on the list to make it more clear.

I'm getting excited too! I brought my luggage down a couple of days ago and have started gathering things together for the trip. I even put my park touring bag together.
:rotfl:

I am getting so excited also. We starting to figure out our FE. This is so cool. I just can't wait to see the ship for the first time. Is there anything we should make sure we do not miss ?

I don't think we will do the FE, since we're new to cruising- maybe next time though! But I am confused about something I read somewhere on a Disboard post. They said that you get a room assignment 30 days before your cruise. We got our room assignment when we booked. Does Disney sometimes "rearrange"?
Can't wait, starting to get things together in a suitcase so we don't forget all the great sugestions I've read about here! 50 more days!!!
:cheer2::banana::cheer2:

Just booked last week! It was a very spontaneous decision, especially given we live on the opposite coast! My DM is turning 60 in October, and I happened to have a 2-for-1 airfare voucher that required booking be completed by September. Thought about a quick trip to WDW, since dining would be free, but neither of us have been on a cruise before, so here we are!

Really, the only thing that makes me hesitant is the port day in Nassau. When I first started researching for the trip I heard that Nassau wasn't really a "must do." Since I'm a huge British history nerd, I thought we'd just see Fort Charlotte and the Queen's Staircase, make a quick visit to the Straw Market and then back to the ship. Then I started hearing words like "sketchy" and "a dump," so I thought we should just stay close to the ship. Now that I've heard about the rise in crime against cruise passengers ashore, I'm kind of afraid to leave the ship at all, being that we're two women.

Now, I live in a city that has a bad rep due to its high crime rate, so I'm generally pretty vigillant and aware of my surroundings. I didn't feel the least bit nervous wandering around London solo. But the story of the folks on the Segway excursion being robbed at gunpoint has me a little spooked.

Any thoughts or suggestions from those of you who have visited Nassau? Would it be pretty safe to just stick close to the ship?

I have read that Nassau is not the best port. However I hadn't heard about the crime problem, or robberies. My husband and I are thinking of taking a water taxi to Atlantis, and doing one of their tours of the aquarium and grounds, and then maybe going back to town and do a little shopping. Maybe we should just go to Atlantis, and then enjoy the rest of the day onboard? The day we will be in Nassau will be our 30th anniversary, so I would like fond, not scary memories!!!
:confused3:confused: Any suggestions???

I will be joining all of you on the Wonder on 10/24 along with my DH and 2 yr old son.

This is our first Disney criuse and we are so excited. We're normally Loyal to Royal but decided to try something new, post baby. :goodvibes

We went to Nassau back in 2000, I think it was, and were not impressed at all. I really disliked the constant harassment from vendors and the transportation provided for the excursions were overcrowded. It wasn't a pleasant experience at all. Last May we returned and decided, before we left, that we would just stay on the boat. We never felt we missed out on anything and were glad we didn't get off the boat.
