Oct 24th, 4 nights on the Wonder... who's in

We just booked this cruise! Myself, Dh, DS, and DD. Our last hurrah as a fmaily of four! (I'll be 23 weeks at the time of sailing)

Hi All,

I'm still around! Just been really, really busy and haven't posted at all in ages.

Welcome to everyone who has joined since I was last here! A special hi to Maza - I went to school in Stafford!! Used to live in Eccleshall. It is a Small World! :goodvibes

tow-mater - Awww I am sorry you can't make it. My Fiancee and I are talking about doing a 7night cruise for the 2nd honeymoon. Maybe we will see you then? (it;s a long shot but maybe)

this cruise will be here before we know it. I am counting down the days until my Wedding *87* days.

I am going to call Aug 10th and see if we can get a res. for Palo, with all the runninga round on the land part of our Honeymoon I am thinking will just be "chilling out" on the cruise. I woul how ever like to do some shopping (maybe) he wants to go gamble (can't get him out of Vegas mode :lmao:)
We are really playing the cruise by ear.

Has anyone called to get a discount? Or checked on a discount? I called Disney world after I got an email stating my meal plan was free. I called DW and got close to $500 back from the meal plan. I wasn't sure if the Cruise was offering any discounts?

Tattoo shops? Does anyone know of a GOOD tattoo shop in the disney dock area or is there one on the cruise? My Fiancee and I have well a lot of tattoos and we want to get one for our wedding/Honeymoon. Our flight home to Baltimore isn't until 6:00pm on the docking day. We just wanted to get it sometime around/durning/after the trip. Let me know!

:bride: Happy Bride:bride:stressed bride

We are on this cruise with all ya. It me, DW and two DD (3 and 6). It will be our 9th wedding anniversary. This is our first cruise and can't wait. We trying to decide if we should do the beach day at Atlantis. We looking to seeing you all on the cruise. :cool1::banana:

hey...long time no post. :)
Just got back from the Dover-Barcelon 8 nighter on the Magic...and , as mentioned before...we booked onboard. cant say we got any amazing deals..but $150 room credit was a start...as well as $100 each deposit...although our balance was due before we got home from Spain:confused:
anyway...all paid for now...just flights to find and a few days in HRH to sort out before and after...
I am amazed this thread is so quiet...maybe we will get some pixie dust and get a balcony if the cruise is empty...lol:yay:
see you all in a few weeks:)

Cruise is just around the corner. Are you guys interested in an FE exchange? It doesn't look like there will be many participants so it shouldn't be hard on our wallets. Anyone?

Great, Lydia! Looks like it's just gonna be me and you though. :rotfl: I'm really surprised by how inactive this thread is. Thought there were plenty of DISers on every cruise but I guess that's not really the case. There's still time for others to join in.....

we are in...should be quite 'interesting'...with just the 3 of us...lol

We are staying at AK the night before we leave...DLBDS, are you staying there too?

No, we're driving down to Port Canaveral the night before and staying at a hotel. We're staying at the WL for 3 nights after we get off the boat and then we'll be at AKL Halloween night only. It was cheaper to stay at AKL the last night as there aren't any discounts. We're really looking forward to it. We've never stayed there before and Boma is my favorite restaurant for breakfast and dinner. I have an ADR there for breakfast the morning we leave.

Great idea! I need to do that too!

So glad to have another 'exchanger'. My daughter was a bit disappointed when I told her it didn't look like we would be doing an FEexchange this trip. Looking forward to it.

Wow, if we stay under 20 participants then... I think I've already decided what I'm going to gift. I'll be ordering mine online so we should probably set a cut-off date for participation. How does Oct. 1st sound? That way everyone has time to place their orders (if they're ordering) and/or put their gifts together etc. Sound ok?

We just booked yesterday - first cruise ever and I cannot wait!! I started reading the boards last year when I obsessively planned our WDW trip in Oct. Now I'm back to help plan for DCL. Not a big poster, but definitely a big reader. I'm learning about FE and I know my dd (6) would love it, so I think we're in. Any help on protocol would be appreciated. I'm reading up on all the ideas that people have and will hopefully come up with some good ones - I'm not the crafty type though, so fair warning.

:welcome:

The more the merrier! I'm not crafty either which is why I order mine but I do try to present it in an interesting way. This year will be much easier if I go with what I have (tentatively) planned. I've only done the FEexchange one other time (last year). What we did was just deliver to everyone one time one single 'gift' per stateroom. Last year I gave black pirate tote bags folded, then rolled and tied with natural raffia to keep it together (picture a scroll). I slid a pirate pencil inside the roll and slipped a pirate ring onto the raffia along with a gift tag. We split up delivery into 2 sessions as there were soooo many participating. Some folks bring separate gifts for children/adults or a gift for each person in a stateroom. I've heard of folks delivering something every day of the cruise but I think that's probably only when there's low participation. It's up to you when you want to deliver. It's really fun going back to your room and discovering a goody in your FE. It could be a cheesey dollar store trinket but you don't care! Your daughter will love it. You should also let her decorate your stateroom door with magnets. There's a thread on here somewhere just on decorated doors if you need some ideas.

Thanks for the advice, we have started getting into the door magnets, and man is it addicting. Too many options!

At what point do we start getting more info about each other for the FE exchange. I was at the dollar store today and saw a bunch of cute things, but am hesitant to buy anything yet not knowing who is in the group. After reading some of the other meets, I'm also surprise and how few people are involved in this one. Maybe it is a really off week and the boat will be empty (any maybe we'll all get upgrades out of it!) :yay:

Hello all. I not posted in a few weeks. I can't believe it is only 63 days till the cruise. I am looking so forward to our first cruise. We like to be part of FE exchange. Never been on cruise, but I been reading ton the last few weeks and the FE sounds like fun for kids.

If everyone is in agreement, I say the cutoff date for participation should be on or very near Oct. 1st. So far, there are 5 joining in including myself. If someone wants to get separate gifts for children/adults then we'll need to know the number/ages of children in each stateroom as folks sign up. If not, then I guess this info isn't necessary. Obviously, we'll need everyone participating in the FEE to provide their stateroom #. Other info that may be needed would be things like number of folks in each stateroom, real names and a list of food allergies in case someone wants to gift a food item. FYI... Regarding FOOD: I read somewhere that you can only bring pre-packaged, store bought items on board. Nothing homemade is allowed. Does anyone want to take on organizing this? I can do it but I don't have a computer capable of creating spreadsheets. If participation is low though, a simple list should suffice.
