Oct 24th, 4 nights on the Wonder... who's in

We went to Nassau back in 2000, I think it was, and were not impressed at all. I really disliked the constant harassment from vendors and the transportation provided for the excursions were overcrowded. It wasn't a pleasant experience at all. Last May we returned and decided, before we left, that we would just stay on the boat. We never felt we missed out on anything and were glad we didn't get off the boat.
Thanks for the info. The more I read, the more I'm not sure of what to do. But since we've never been there, we feel like we should get off the boat for a little while, and look around. IS Atlantis worth the money? I would assume it is a safe place to go? We're thinking about just taking a water taxi over, and paying for a limited day pass to view the aquariums, the grounds, and one of the beaches. the girl I talked to at Atlantis was very helpful.

Actually, Atlantis is the one place that we still want to visit. Maybe next year on the Dream?? I really can't offer any specific info on costs and such... What I know about it I read here on the boards.

DH and I will be joining you. This will be our 3rd cruise; #2 will be the 3 day just before (B2B). We HATED the straw market. May get off on 3 day to buy wine and rum cakes, but then scurry back, and that will be plenty of Nassau for us!

I will be joining all of you on the Wonder on 10/24 along with my DH and 2 yr old son.

This is our first Disney criuse and we are so excited. We're normally Loyal to Royal but decided to try something new, post baby. :goodvibes

Welcome aboard!
:)

We called Atlantis resort to get more info. I was told that if their occupancy is high the day we are in port, they reserve the right to not allow others onto the property, even if we had pre-booked with our cruiseline. So we are just going over when we get there, and do their $60 excursin, which includes lunch, and use of a beach, the digg, and the aquariums. Then if they are "full", we won't be out the price of the excursion. I was also told there is shopping there as well, though I'm sure it's pricey! This board has been very helpful, glad I found it!

Hi everyone - was hoping we could get the info from Maza and LydiaAch. I'm starting to put together my stuff and would love to know the details of who is participating. So far no boys which is interesting (kid boys, not husband boys)
DLBDS - is your mom participating? I can't tell from how the names were posted. Thanks everyone, I'm getting sooooo excited. This trip can not come fast enough!

sorry..been very busy and not had much time to post on this one! Our rooms are on level 6...i will have to check on DHs mac for the exact numbers..but they are inside and facing the long way round...although i am quietly hoping for an upgrade as the ship appears to be empty :)
We have 2 cabins and 2 FEs. My Daughters are Juli (16) and Lucie (14)...eldest one has allergies but dont loose any sleep, she is well aware what she can/cant have. No Horses though...she is especially allegic to horsehair:cutie:

Welcome aboard...and i am with you. Strawmarket was awful, but not much different from your normal crap fleamarket, lots of rip off designer bags, poor quality, over priced especially for the cruise market:laughing:
I wont be bothering....although the jewellery shops are wonderful. Got my eternity ring on our first cruise

Was looking through the posts again... and noticed that our room number was still TBA.
We are in room 6113.

Is anyone going to WDW after the cruise? We are going to be there for 2 nights. Going to the Halloween party on Friday night!!

We plan on driving down to Port canaveral on Saturday and staying around the port somewhere, either the Radisson or Country Inns, haven't decided yet.

Your info has been updated... Thanks! We're going to WDW for 4 nights after the cruise. Staying at the WL for 3 nights and then moving to AKL for the last night (cheaper). Excited 'cause we've never stayed at AKL before. We're not doing the party this year. My DD and I have done it twice though in the past. It's fun! We're staying at the Residence Inn Sat. night before the cruise.

Hi all, special hello to anyone new since I was last here - ages ago! Long story - boss retired, too much work, FL in August, busy trying to appoint new boss etc etc! :hyper:

We'd love to join in the FE:
Me - Karen, DD16 - Sophie, DD11 - Eleanor, Cabin - 5022, no allergies to anything likely to be in the FE. (I won't give horse hair if you promise no dogs, cats or penicillin!!)

I'm happy to create a spreadsheet and distribute it - even if there's only a few of us I find it easier to read. Will sort it after the deadline?

Maza - We must be right near you. We have one of the long facing rooms on level 6 as well, 6515. That will be an easy drop off! :thumbsup2

Quick question - If any of us are lucky enough to get an upgrade, how do we communicate that to the FE group? I suppose we could leave a note on the original door, but that would be a little strange if someone ends up in that room (although I don't think there is a worry of anyone "upgrading" to an cat11) :lmao:

We could select someone centrally located to post any room changes on their door, I guess??

I think that is a great idea. We'll wait until all the participants are in and then pick the most central room to post any room changes (assuming the people in that room are ok with it.)

I meant one of us.. not just any cruise passenger. :rotfl:Can't tell if that's the way you understood it or not.

Of course! I totally undestood that, sorry if it didn't come across. I meant.... the most central participant, assuming that participant was ok with it.
