Yep. This X-mas's going to be a snowy one I guess.
Almost got a good tree ))
Guys, hope you'll have really free weekend to make preparations.
Peace!

Tree's up and now watching a Hallmark Christmas movie.

Denine, let us know how Kaleigh's show went last night.

Eight hours shopping with a friend yesterday and I didn't buy a thing. Boy, did she!!! Unfortunately, I still need to do some shopping!

We had a little snow and sleet yesterday while out and about.

Just planning to do laundry and hang out today. Lazy kind of day.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

LYMI

What a day. We decorated the graves and then made a marathon of making peanut brittle. I tried to weigh it and I believe it's 10.5 lbs. Yikes, that's a lot of calories in one container. LOL

Susan, I thought you got snow. I saw a picture of a light dusting.

Stacey and family come home tomorrow after being gone over a month. Poor Tyler has a nasty cold.

It is snowy again. So cold too.

Kaleigh's show was cute Friday night. They did some skits and showed some theater games they learned. They are going to have another program February/March and Kaleigh wants to do it again.

Saturday we put up the tree and outside decorations.

Sunday I put up the village and we went to church and then to Friday's for lunch. Also went grocery shopping.

We still have the basement tree to put up.

Sandy: Did you watch the Mr. Kringle movie? It was cute. Have you seen Mrs. Miracle?

Tonight is a program at the library for the people that read 10 books in the fall family read-aloud.

That is a lot of peanut brittle!!!!

I am hoping to make some Christmas cookies on Friday since I am off.

Susan: How could you shop for 8 hours and not buy a thing? That is some willpower!

COLD!!! Our power was out for the last 2 hours and biy is it cold. We built a fire in the fireplace but the temp in the house dropped 6 degrees in those 2 hours. It is supposed to be in the teens tonight so I'm glad it came back on.

So, I'm in good shape from the gall bladder surgery and then the next thing you know, Blue pulled har on the leash as I was stepping off the porch last night and I twisted and fell against the porch column and dislocated my left knee. Thank goodness it popped back in place. Xrays show no tears but their is definitely some inflamation and fluid build up. So, lots of advil and rest and go back in 4 weeks. May need some PT to strengthen the muscles after that.

So, come on 2011. I am ready for new year!!!!!!!!!!!

Susan - OUCH!! Oh no, not good. I hope your knee gets better soon. Glad you ahve recovered well from your gall bladder surgery. I am with you, I am so ready for 2011. 2010 has been a rough year!

Susan: OUCH! Hope you feel better soon!

Sandy: Those movies are on the Hallmark channel. I am sure they will repeat them.

Cold and snowy again.

Kaleigh's library program was pretty much a bust. It was just some refrehments and a guy doing caricatures. Kaleigh did have hers done.

After dinner we are going to put together the gingerbread house.

Christmas shopping is done! Cards are almost done. Wrapping gets done this weekend. Kaleigh is spending Friday night and during the day on Saturday at grandma's house. We are going out to dinner and maybe a movie on Friday and then doing all the wrapping on Saturday. It is a challenge to wrap presents since Kaleigh is always home.

:eek:Susan, ouch!! You and Julie certainly are having a tough Christmas season!

Denine, I pretty much figured that the movies were Hallmark. Have you noticed they are pretty much playing them nonstop? You are on top of Christmas chores. Good for you!

I need to figure out Christmas cards. I always send out the picture ones and this year I really don't have a good picture. I was just going to buy cards this year but the last time I did that I caught so much grief from people. Maybe just an Alaskan picture or something? Who knows???? I just know I better hurry up and figure it out!! :thumbsup2

Mom - You have some good Alaskan ones, use one of them. I am trying to search for a picture from last year FL trip to use!

Denine - Wow, you go girl....you are on top of it!

Hi guys!

Susan, sorry to hear about your knee, but I'm glad there was no other damage to it.

Sandy, I don't need a Christmas card... just some of that peanut brittle...;)

Heidi, your new puppy is sooooooo cute!! Where did you find her?

Denine, Christmas wrapping? Heck, I'm hoping to GET Christmas presents!!! Have you ever tried going to the stores on crutches? I recommend you don't try it! I think I have a gift for everyone... that may be it this year!

Barb, your new grand baby is adorable!

Well, going back to the hospital tomorrow for the Dr. to re-open my foot in the area where he did most of the major work. This area has been super sensitive and I can't walk with all my weight on my foot YET!!! We are going on 1 month and I'm still in pain. He thinks that there is some fluid caught in the area cause the pain OR an infection that is caught and not getting out. SO, he will be going in and hopefully just draining some fluid out of my foot. He said if there is something going on in there, he will find it and hopefully fix the problem! If not, I told Garry to do what they did in the old days to horses that brake a leg... take me out back and shoot me!:rotfl2:

Other than that... nothing else new.. OH YEAH... Makenzie got straight A's on her report card (actually 3 A+'s) and so did Brooke and Garry! I was so proud of them! And that was with a cruise right in the middle of the grading period!

I'll check back in later or hopefully some time tomorrow!

Julie - OMG, sounds miserable. I am sorry you are in so much pain. That sucks you can't even make it to the stores. That is awesome the kids got A's. Way to go kiddos. I lucked out and didn't have to buy many Christmas presents since we got the puppy! We still have a few presents for the girls to unwrap but they are small gifts. Hoping to get them next weekend and have our Christmas with them before Chris leaves. We bought Lilly at a Pet Store in the mall which I swear I would never ever do but it happened! Here is the story:

Every time we go to the mall the girls want to go to the Pet Store and everytime we go they beg for a puppy. For 8 years I have said no to them. I was always the strong one. Then this trip happened! They were begging for this brown poodle and I will never ever get a poodle because 2 of them attacked my dog. We were walking out of the store and then Chris went to the window and saw her. Next thing I know he walked back in the store, got a sales associate to open the window and pull her out. As soon as Lilly was in his arms I could tell he really wanted her. The girls go running back inside the store and I am just staring at them on the outside of the store. Finally I walk back in because Chris was not coming out and not putting the puppy down. He handed her to me and I kept saying no. The girls were begging to bring her back to the little room, I said no but Chris drifted back there as he took her from me. No rooms available, I thought to myself thank goodness. Chris sets her down and starts playing with her in an aisle for a few minutes, then a room opens up and they all go running in the room. She was scared and sitting in the corner. The girls begging more and Chris said it is up to Heidi. I said if she comes to me then I will say yes.....well guess who came over to me, lol! I still said no.....then another couple came over with her brother and they were buying him. More people were coming over and petting Lilly and that is when I got a feeling that came over me that she is my dog and no one can have her and she is meant for our family!!!!! I broke down, said yes and Emily and I cried!!! I have never received so many hugs then at that moment!!! We all agreed that she would be our Christmas present for everyone. Her and her brother were only there for a day before they were picked up!

Julie: That is what the internet is for! Shop, shop, shop! I hope he can find and fix the problem. Congrats to the kiddos.

I am trying to get all the big stuff out of the way this year so I can just relax and have fun the last couple of weeks for a change.

The gingerbread house did not go well at all last night. The icing would not set and the roof kept sliding off and the walls kept leaning. We worked on the thing for almost 1-1/2 hours and gave up. Kaleigh watched it slowly fall apart. After a while we tried to put the thing back together. It isn't even close to perfect, it is crooked and there is a gap at the roof peak, but it is still standing this morning. We will decorate it as is and that will be that. We have done a gingerbread house every year since Kaleigh was little and have never had that problem before. Who wants to stand and hold a house together for a couple of hours when it is supposed to take 15 minutes? Plus, the box said it is a product of Canada. The gingerbread may be, but all the candy was from China. NOT eating any of that!

I know it is minor compared to foot and knee problems, but that is my story and I am sticking to it!

Snowy and cold again today. At least we don't have the accumulations that some places around here have.

Julie, my stomach just churned reading your post. OUCH!! I am sooo sorry. Great report cards! I just realized that you are the only one that got peanut brittle on this thread.

Heidi, your "story" made me smile. Love it.....and Lilly.

Denine, I feel your pain for the gingerbread house. I believe it was in Kindergarden that Heidi and Stacey made them out of those individual milk cartons, graham crackers, icing and candy. They turned out AWESOME!

Gotta go and figure out some Christmas cards and of course do more laundry. Hugs to all.

Hope all went well with Julie today.

Julie: sending lots of hugs, prayers, and pixie dust your way!

Cute story about the puppy, Heidi.

Sandy, glad you had a good day at water aerobics!

Sounds like a tough time with the gingerbread house, Denine. Maybe the decorations can make it look better. You can call it your Charlie Brown Gingerbread House!

Miss Barb. Hopefully, we'll hear more from her soon and see some more baby pictures.

Heading to Florida after work tomorrow for long hockey weekend. Not sure I'll take my laptop so I may be MIA til next week.

Have a great weekend!

LYMI

Susan, Florida again??? Man, you always get to escape to "warm" weather. I put warm in quotes since they are having that cold wave. Have fun!
