Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I went to get spa pampered with my sister in law and her daughter. We had a great time. Then my mom fixed homemade chicekn and dumplings for me for my birthday. No body makes them like my mom!! Turner loves them more than me, I think. Based on how much he ate.

We leave for Richmond this evening for the weekend. Turner has hockey games.

Susan - Glad you had a good birthday dinner! I try and recreate my favorites of what my mom makes but it's never as good as hers.

Today was picture-perfect gorgeous! It was sunny and probably about 70. We spent the day at the zoo.

Supposed to get some rain tonight and tomorrow. Not much though, I think.

Back home from Richmond. Turner's team won all three games this weekend (4-1, 4-2, and 4-1). Had a nice time with the parents.

Paul has gone to Kentucky for the first half of the week. I have to work and pick up the dogs from the kennel tomorrow. I miss Paul and my doggies already.

Major bummer. The swimming pool is have electrical problems and they don't know when the pool will reopen. Next week it's closed for the holiday.....ALL WEEK!

Went to Denver Sunday night to take Michelle and Jason out to dinner for her birthday. Jason had been to the Bronco game and was really horse from yelling. He was pretty happy all night. Michelle is starting to look a little uncomfortable. She is due in another week and a half. Wish she had Alana now. I don't want her to be born while we are gone!

Got 2 of our trees up and starting on the outside. got a bunch of stuff I need to get done before we leave. another busy weekend ahead of me.

Good morning! I am super stressed this week from the audit that is happening right now at work. Everyone is on edge. Not a fun time.

Hello! Jerry and I are back to feeling fine. Kaleigh is still complaining of a tummy ache though.

Cloudy and supposed to rain today and tomorrow. I don't mind since we have been having so much sunshine lately. I can handle clouds every now and then, just not non-stop! I do have my light box in the morning though. It is BRIGHT!

I called the doctor this morning. My asthma cough isn't even close to being gone, even with the steroids. They were a low dose, so maybe she will just repeat it. I don't know. I am just tired of coughing and Jerry is tired of hearing me cough.

Sandy: That happens to my dad too with the pool being closed for some reason or another.

Jerry's mom is having Thanksgiving as usual. I always take a dessert but this year I am also taking a wild rice and cranberry dressing. I HATE stuffing, so this will be a nice alternative. It has chestnuts in it too. I got it from my Cooking Light magazine. We used to do a brunch at my mom's in the morning, but we didn't do it last year because my brother couldn't make it and this year my mom just isn't up to it with my dad and her own problems too.

My dad goes back to the doctor on Thursday. My mom said he is a bundle of nerves which I already knew. She doesn't want him to have chemo. She just wants him to have transfusions as necessary. I understand. I am also concerned about the affects of the chemo. We will know more this week.

UGHH!!!

The poor nurse at my doctor's office just got an earful. I felt bad, but I am frustrated. The doctor wants me to do something that I have told them repeatadly doesn't work and she wants me to get a CAT scan! I said no. That is going to far and is expensive. Steroids have always worked to get rid of my post-bronchitis cough and what they gave me was a low does. Why can't we try it again or start with a higher dose? Why do we have to go straight to expensive tests that won't show anything? I said I have gone from getting bronchitis 3-4 times a year to about once a year and I have only had this coughing that won't stop 2 or 3 times. It has always resolved with prednisone. Now see, the problem is the medrol does pack comes in only 1 strength. So, if the doctor were to order something stronger, she would actually have to WRITE out instructions. It is easier to just order another test and hope the coughing stops in the meantime!

Just got off the phone again and the doc did call in for prednisone but wants me to come in when it done for pulmonary function tests which is fine since I used to get those once a year and haven't gotten one since our other doctor left the practice.

Another sunny day. I can handle this.

I got started on the prednisone last night. She put me on it for 20 days! I think 10 would suffice, but hey...

Jerry and I talked about it and I called my mom about just going over there Thanksgiving morning for a visit. No food, no brother and family. They were fine with that. I am going to take a little something for a light breakfast, but that is it.

I don't know how, but I lost 3.3 pounds since I last weighed myself 1-1/2 weeks ago. I thought I gained! So, vacation weight, plus is gone. I am wondering if the steroids ramped up my metabolism.
