Oct.19, 02 Cruisers AGAIN

Got some yard work done today. More planned for tomorrow. Went to the gym for a short workout this evening. Did not go weigh in so hopefully next week's weigh in will look real good.

We found out some friends of ours lost their baby yesterday. A little over a year ago they lost one in the 9th month of the pregnancy because the umbilical cord got wrapped around the baby's neck. This time they had the baby 4 weeks ago but he has been on a ventilater since the 2nd day because his CO2 level became elevated. They diagnosed him with Non Ketotic Hyperglycenemia (for you nurses out there). He was in a coma and they finally took him off life support on Tuesday and he lived for 10 more hours. I can not begin to imagine what they are going through and we don't know what we can do to help comfort them. Any ideas? We have been so blessed with Turner's health and I thank God for that!

Sorry to be a bummer but needed an emotional release. I feel like we have all been through so much together and always support each other. I am so thankful to have met you all.

How awful for that family. Losing a baby at any time would be devastating, but after you have held them and brought them home...
I think just knowing that you all are there for them, now and especially later. Most people hover around now, but it is the later that means so much. When others have "forgotten", you all can be there for them.

I wish you and that family peace this evening.
Krista

Hi guys. Hi Garry.
Susan, that's a hard one to imagine. How sad. Sometimes you hear people in grief say, "If only we could have said good-bye" I know that's a stretch for finding a bright side ... I don't know which would be worse. It's just yukky and sad anyway you look at it. The lessons God thinks we're ready to learn.

Hey, some good news here. MaryJane (A.K.A. mmouse37) met Darren back on the 1/4 Magic and is going again on May 17. She's going to seek him out and report back to us.

That's it for me, for now. Oh, I'm glad Turner's wrist is feeling so good. Sandy, darn, this Wed could have worked but I just promised my next two Weds away. Humm, Mondays are serving lunch at school and Fridays I work. We'll get it together, I promise!

Susan how terrible for your friends. When you hear anything like that it makes you reflect and count your blessings. I wish I could offer more comforting words but I am just not good with anything like that. I envy people who are. How we all take it for granted when we have healthy children though. My heart goes out to them.

Have a good day all. SOmething is wrong with the computer because I can't see all the posts on the page.

Susan, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend's baby. It has to be a horrible time for all involved.

Bonnie, I can't see all posts either. The email said that Lori posted and I couldn't see it. It showed Krista as the last to post. When I came up with the reply page I just happened to scroll down and found both Lori and you. Last night I couldn't post back to Susan as the "post reply" part was missing. Strange.

Another dark and gloomy day. We got lots of rain and a dusting of snow yesterday. Some schools are closed east of us because of the weather and the mtns on the west are virtually impassable because of the winter weather. Nice to have just the rain. It kills me when we have two different extremes so close together.

The kids are here. Everyone have a terrific day.

Good Morning!!

Well I made it through day 2 of my grammer class only 1 to go. Thought I was going to fall asleep yesterday. I don't think I retained anything.

Tiffany's boyfriend broke up with her yesterday. I feel so bad for her she was heartbroken. We have already bought her prom dress. Ryan, Jaymee's boyfriend told her that she could be his date too. Nathan her boyfriend said he would still take her to prom. I say blow him off and do something fun with me!!

I am ready for a vacation!

Sandy, thanks for commenting on scrolling down from hte reply page. I, too, could not see Bonnie's and Lori's posts. This is very strange. Makes you wonder what else we have been missing, doesn't it.

Thanks for the comforting comments about our friends' baby. They are having a private funeral today.

One more nice day here so I will have to work in the yard again.

Sue: I am so sorry for the loss of your friend's baby. I can't imagine the heartbreak. Just being there for them is the biggest help you can give at this time. Maybe a few homecooked meals too.

Sandy: We get strange weather too. 1 county, 2 halves. One side can be digging out from several inches of snow and the other side can be in the yard raking leaves. It has to do with the way it curves around the lake. Yeah!!!!! You lost the 3 pounds you gained!!!!!!!

Heidi: Hang in there. I know it is tough, but you are handling this great!

Barb: Maybe Tiffany needs to talk to Heidi! Is this what I have to look forward to in the future?

Bought Kaleigh an Easter dress for next year. They were 30% off, plus a 20% off coupon in the paper, plus Jerry's mom get's another 25% off for being an employee. We got it for less than half price. I am looking for a dress for her to wear on the 16th. I found some last night, but I haven't decided yet. I want it to be special.

I figured out more pins I want: nurses day pin and a mother's day pin.

Just to let you know, the resident I was talking about earlier that had that "look" was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning and was only given a couple days to live. Her husband is going to be heartbroken. He lived his life for her. I hope he continues to live at our facility.

OK, who's countdown was messing it up??? (and No Bonnie, you can't blame Glenn's mother if it was yours!)

Susan, I'm glad you took care of that. I had to use the top reply just to get mine in, then couldn't see it either. Figured it was a glitch at my end.

Barb and Sandy, you two have me thinking of running away from home for Katie's teenage years. She already has enough little social interaction issues going on, I can't imagine how I'll be of any help to her when it gets amplified.

Time to go shopping for a nifty armored riding jacket.

I'm back! I've been reading for days trying to catch up with you guys! Even Garry is back :p ....... which reminds me......another vote for worms here. Not crazy about worms but they beat crawlies....eewww!

Susan: Boy did we ever have windstorms here in New Mexico.....one day it was around 50 mph most of the day with gusts up to 75 mph. On my way home I saw a huge tree that had been uprooted and thrown over a fence! I was afraid to go home because our whole side yard where we had a fenced in area for a storage building had been cleared and trenches dug for the watering system. Piles of dirt that I figured were everywhere. Amazingly, nothing was moved.....go figure!

Bonnie: You and your ballet crack me up! :teeth: Sounds like more fun than working out though.... You must be getting pretty excited about now.... ;)

I was so far behind I know I've forgotten to mention half of what crossed my mind (what is left of it after tax season!). I'm so happy for all the weight losses, Kaleigh's adoption, good health reports, Barb's learning grammar, Mom's home safe, April 15th is gone for another year, and anything else good that happened.

On the other hand, I'm very sorry about the family that lost their baby, I can't even imagine how someone would get through that.

I'm sad for what Heidi has gone through (and now Tiffany too) but I'm happy she is recovering.

I've rambled enough for now. Talk to you later!

I see that my countdown is gone!!!!! Oh well...I can count on my own at this point. Actually everyone at work is counting. I get to work in the morning and I hear "2 more days!" So I guess I don't need it hear.

Welcome back from tax land Patty!!!!! I think we got your wind today.

That's it for me. Have a good evening all.

Bonnie: Have a terrific and safe trip! Your timer is still there.

Patti: Welcome back!

I don't know if I'll have a chance to sign on tomorrow. Jerry is working from home because we have to take the Rendezvous up to have a door realigned. We only have the 1 phone line. We are going to the Olive Garden for my birthday tomorrow, Kaleigh too. Kaleigh loves broccoli & cauliflower. Her mouth just opens like a little bird. She still isn't fond of sweet potatoes though.

Wow, Patty's back! Hi Patty. When I get your email I'll send you that picture.
First Garry and now Patti(y) next will be Diana and maybe a real blast from the past like Beth twinmom or the other Sue! Maybe even that young man ... Derrick ... Danny?

I bought a way cool armored liner today. Armor Here's a picture of it on this webpage (if I did the link right) It's called the SixSixOne, Pressure suit. I was going to get a full jacket, but couldn't decide if I wanted it to be rain proof, or roadrash proof(leather) or light for those very hot days at my parents ranch ... so I decided on this thing that can fit under all of the coats that I already have. Very clever, huh??? It can go under just a jersy or under my snowboarding coat or my leather flight jacket. Anything. Oh, I'm so excited. It should arrive Tue or Wed. I just love that UPS man.

OK, I have a long shift tomorrow to pay for all of these toys. Have a great weekend everyone.

So, Lori's in love with the UPS man. Does Ben know about this secret love?

Bonnie - have a great time on your trip. Off to meet Mom. Tell Glenn hello. Be safe!

Hi, Patty (Patti). Glad to see you back from tax life. We've missed you. We expect to hear from you more often now. Get your Mom and sister back in gear. They haven't been posting as often as they used too.

We have rain expected today. I am planning to spend the day with my Mom. No real plans; juts some mother-daughter time.

JULIE, WHERE ARE YOU??????

Well, H E L L O Patty. Glad that you survived tax season AND the wind. A dear friend of ours used to do taxes and the poor thing never had a live during the season. I always felt sorry for her but she absolutely loved doing them so that was good. She is now in her 70's and loves NOT doing them now.

Lori, don't forget the other Sandy. Maybe she will surface, also. Cool jacket. You will be so stylin in your new jacket! Don't tell the UPS guy that you love him. Remember I did that when he delivered our last set of Docs for the cruise and he was a little taken back. He said he wished more people loved him as much as I do. I have an idea for you. Never, never let Katie out of the house and then you won't have to go through what Barb and I are going through now. Ain't fun!!!!!!

Barb, poor, poor Tiffany. What is it with these guys and their timing? I am sure she is hurting pretty bad. Proms mean so much to these kids. Let us know what she ends up doing. Heidi and Bryan went to Prom. We just took down the pictures of Prom and the formal night cruise pictures. Too hard to look at.

Denine, I am absolutely amazed that Kaleigh likes broccoli and cauliflower and doesn't like sweet potatoes. How unusual. Please, send us all a picture on Adoption Day. I am so excited for you. Sorry about your resident that isn't doing very well. I am sure that it takes a toll on you whenever you lose one.

Well Bonnie, this is IT. You go girl. Have fun. Let us know what kind of trouble you two get into.

Susan, glad that you thought of tech support. Maybe I will drop them a line about my avatar. I miss seeing it. Have fun with your mom. I plan to visit mine next week. Always a lunch and then a quick run into a store. Her diabetes, heart, kidneys and eyes have really slowed her down. At least I can still get her out for lunch!!!!

Who knows when I can post again. Heidi needs it again 24-7 for her online course. Well, quite honestly I shouldn't be playing on the computer when my future SIL is working on MY house. Have a great weekend everyone. Bonnie, have fun on your trip. We will all be thinking of you! Stay safe.

Just a quick hello from a riddler...Happy Cross Post Day!!!!
