Barb, how ironic. Our girls always went up to Vail for FBLA, also. Hope Tiffany is having as much fun as our girls always did. I think 50..00 will be fine. Stacey and Heidi never spent too much up there. (At least on food) Also, there is a Subway that they would always eat at. Dakota Ridge stayed at the Marriott. Where is she staying? They were in Vail when they heard about Columbine. I will never forget all the sounds of that day. Never. It was very stressful as we live very, very close to Columbine. They had heard that there were gunman running the neighborhood streets which turned out untrue. They borrowed someones cell phone to call me. They had so many questions re: friends at Columbine and about me. Couldn't answer anything for a long time. Poor things were sobbing, they were sooo scared. It messed up their last FBLA competition in Vail.

Susan, you are so busy. Sure wish I had half of your ambition. What is a butterfly bush?

Denine and Julie, painting isn't fun. We started doing that nasty chore yesterday. I ache everywhere. I hate painting. Totally boring! I told Heidi and Ted that it is a bonding experience. Yea, whatever. Couldn't even convince myself. Stacey's favorite color at Makenzie's age was pink and Heidi's was purple.

Lori, how is the skit coming along?

Jeanne, how exciting for Joyce. A nine pound grandson. I absolutely love the name Benjamin. Please tell her congratulations from Ted and me. Have fun in Ocean City. Knowing the two of you, you will find some trouble to get in to!!! Well, okay, knowing YOU not Joyce. Joyce is the good dudette who doesn't get in to trouble. You and Bonnie. Well..........??

Take care everyone. Another afternoon and night of painting. Yahoo, NOT!

Sorry I haven't been posting but I have been so busy....been working in the yard getting the beds cleaned, planted and putting down a brick edging. And then there is the house to try to keep up plus I have had a couple classes during the day, all day long. Even going back to curves...

Belated Happy Birthday to everyone that had a birthday....

Our weather has been really nice but I see where next week they say rain and snow showers....can do without the snow as I am planting my flowers and they don't come with overcoats....

Well back to work, just wanted to say Hi to everyone...can't let Barb get ahead of me posting.....lol

Sue, I read that post and then forgot to tell you that there wasn't really any theme(that I know of). Just something to do at the end-of-year advancement mtg./campout. I found some ideas online and our first of two meetings to learn it, was tonight. I think it will work out. I kind-of went with a Laugh-In idea where they first do a group skit/joke, then boys go two by two thru 3 jokes, then a group skit at the end. We might have to thin it out if the boys cant get it by the end of next meeting, but I'm thinking it will work. Thanks for your offer to help. We'll have to do this again every year, so if you have any really great ones, please still forward them along. Thanks.

Denine, Re: Garry's idea... could you just see a group of 7 year olds being allowed to act drunk? Oh, scary. One joke comes close. Our wilder kid comes running out like a lunatic yelling "the squirrels are after me, the squirrels are after me!" Another asks "Why would squirrels be after you?" He yells back ....drum roll .....
"They think I'm NUTS !!!"

So, that's about it in a nutshell. har har. I'm really going for those cornball jokes now!
Happy painting to all of you gluttens for punishment! LOL Ohh, I should talk, I did an 30 mile bumpy dirt road motorcycle ride with my step-dad yesterday and my body aches all over. I don't even have any fresh pretty walls to show for it.

Well, it's a quiet night so far...much better than last night when we had to deal with a bunch of drunken Ukranians. The funny part was that we arrested a 17 yr old from their group for underage drinking (he ran from the police with a bottle of Vodka in his hand). The rest of the group wanted us to turn him over to them to take home, but I said we had to talk to a parent first before we would do that.

Well, we tried calling his house and got no answer. Then one of the women walked up with a cell phone and said they had the kid's father on the phone. One of the officers talked to him, then I started getting suspicious and walked over to the bus stop where the rest of the Ukraines were sitting and guess what? One of the males was on a cell phone and when he saw me he suddenly turned white and put the phone down. Guess who was playing the part of the 17 yr old's father? Needless to say, this made our decision on whether to take the kid back to our station real easy! They always think they're smarter than us...:smooth:

Enough of story time....everyone have a good day!

Garry: Funny story!

Lori: I said it could be interesting, didn't say the parents would like it. :p Sounds like you had fun on your bike.

Tomorrow is weigh-in day for those of you still doing it. I hope I lose at least 1 pound. I have 3 more to lose before we leave.

We did get to go for walks the last couple of days and hopefully today. That usually helps.

Good morning everyone. A beautiful day in Denver. Boy, do I hurt. I found so many muscles that I didn't even know that I had. Those "ThermaCare heat wraps" are a real blessing. My poor back was finally getting better and then we go and paint. Oh well, I found the heat wraps anyway. Never tried them before.

Barb, I just talked to Heidi and she said that 50.00 for food should be fine. I forgot but their is a little grocery store in the Villa that sells junk food. Our girls never wanted the gourmet type food that Vail is made up of. So Subway and the grocery store helped them. They also took the free shuttle to a gas station for food, too.

Great story Garry. I miss my dad and all of his stories.

Gotta go get Noah at preschool. Talk to you all later. Taa Taa.

Hi, everyone. Another beautiful day here in North Carolina and I was stuck indoors, in meetings in conference rooms without windows.:( Just doesn't seem fair! But I leave Thursday afternoon for the beach trip! :) I can't wait!

Paul leaves tomorrow since his conference starts Thursday. He's going down a little early since his parents and brother live down there. Turner and I can't take the time off to go tomorrow since we were both just out of school/work for a week. At least Paul can spend a little time with his family. The trip is only 3 1/2 - 4 hours drive and we don't get down to visit enough (mostly due to Turner's hockey schedule).

I have a few rooms that could use a coat of paint. Anybody want to come for a visit??

Tomorrow is weigh in day. I have done a lot better twith my eating the last few days but I haven't made it to the gym this week. If Turner gets his homework done SOON, maybe he'll go for a walk with me. Well, I better go visit homework hell and make sure he is getting his work done.

Later!

Ok Laurie, where are you? Sure Bonnie goes on a trip and everyone thinks they went on one too! LOL! I have been trying to do things around the house to get ready for Makenzie's party, but my success rate isn't going real well. I did do a lot of yard work yesterday because the weather was great! But boy am I paying for it. I raked the old leaves from under the bushes in our front yard and I am allergic to the mold on the leaves and I have the WORST headache and my nose is all stuffed up! Nice! Just what I need! My sinuses are killing me! I haven't put the wall paper up yet because I have to get up my nerve to hang it. There isn't much to do, but I worry that I won't put it up straight. I WILL have it done before the end of the weekend. I have to because the Princess Makenzie's room is getting started!

Nothing else going on here on this end..... Garry has all the "fun"! LOL! I don't know if I could put up with half the stuff he does at work.

Have a good day everyone! Let's see some more posting going on. ( See Bonnie told me to stay on you guys! LOL!)

Just wanted to surprise you all. We were put on the business level so I have free internet access!!!

Happy Belated birthday Denine!!!!

ok Julie, I don't want you to be alone! Don't be afraid to do the wallpaper...just do a plum line and it will be straight.

I know what you are going through with your sinuses....I am allergic to the cedar mulch I put down every spring....what gardners don't do for their gardens!

It does seem only a few keep posting but this is a busy time of year for everyone.....I will try to jump in once in awhile to help you guys keep this going. With Bonnie gone it has been Denine, Susan, Lori, Sandy and Julie that are the ones carrying on....don't know what we would do without you.

I have been going to Curves everyday this week and between that and doing a lot of digging my back is getting sore. But I am losing about l/2 pound a day.

Good Morning

I am back at work after a very emotional few days. Jason left yesterday and I cried and cried. It is so different this time. When he left for Georgia I called him at least once a week. It was comforting knowing that if I had to get to him I could jump in the car and drive for 2 days. Now there won't be many phone calls and I have no idea when I will see him again. There is like 15 hours difference between here and there that we also have to deal with.

Tiffany is back from Vail. The $50 lasted. Thank you Sandy for your encouragement I was really feeling like I had let her down.

Missy and I pinkey swore that she would not cry over Mike being in Iraq and I would not cry over Jason leaving last night.

Barb: Hang in there. It will get easier.

I lost 3 more pounds!!!!!!! I was hoping for 1! I have now lost my 15 pounds!!!!!! My next goal is 20 pounds and then 30. As long as we can get out and walk, I seem to lose the weight.

I am so thankful that I am only allergic to ragweed outside. I love to work in the yard. It looks like my butterfly bushes might have made it. I cut off a stem and it was still green. It just hasn't leafed out yet.

Bonnie: If you have something to share, share with all of us!

We are taking Kaleigh up to have her pictures taken tonight. Wish us luck. The last few days have been quite difficult. She screams (literally) every time we leave the room or she thinks we are leaving the room. Plus, she hasn't eaten well for me since last week. She is getting straight applesauce today. I know she likes that, so we will see.

I need to move among my own kind! Yesterday, I was so cold. They said it was supposed to be in the low 60's, so I wore jeans and a short sleeve sweater. It only made it into the 50's. I had all the windows closed and the heat on and wore a jacket to go outside. I was still cold. Several neighbors had their windows open and were wearing shorts and short sleeves. 2-1/2 more weeks and I will be where it is warm!

Wonderful to hear from everyone. See, we can keep this post going even in good weather.

Barb, sure wish I could drive down there and give you a big hug. Hang in there. You will get used to it. Also, glad that the 50 was enough.

Sally, glad to hear from you. You are such a busy person! My niece just told me she goes to Curves, also. She loves it. Maybe I should check in to it. Hey Lori, want to exercise? Not sure where one is though.

Denine, man you are soooooo gooooooood. So proud of you and your weight loss. You are definitely the master. I hate the stage that Kaleigh is in. Cries everytime you leave the room. You feel guilty just going potty! That is when I decided just to leave the bathroom door open. Now, I have to remember to close it for company!!!! Don't forget to post Kaleigh's picture.

Julie, you have more nerve than I could ever muster up. I will never wallpaper. Sorry about your sinuses.

Bonnie, so good to hear from you. Hope your trip is going great. We all miss you.

Heidi has homework so will turn the computer over to her.

Susan, you're slacking. How is Turner doing? Have a great trip.

Laurie, miss you. Hope everything is ok.

Sandy I recommend Curves to anyone.....they have a great program....when I first joined last September I lost ll pounds and 7 l/4 inches in one month....now the sad part...I went on a cruise in Oct and one in Dec and on two vacations to Texas and quit going to Curves...gained it all back. Man, if I had just stuck to it I would be near my goal...so back to the drawing board. This time I am not going to get side tracked.

Thanks Sally!:) I think I HAVE to check in to Curves. Your story certainly is a success story that is for sure!

Sandy - I'm not slacking. I posted last night! I've been at work all day and took Turner to hockey practice (to be asst. coach) and we just got home. Turner is doing great. I have no doubt the brace will come off tomorrow. I really hope so; it smells like a locker room!!!

I will try to post again before I leave tomorrow (it may be early AM). I probably will not come back to the house before Turner and I leave for the beach tomorrow. Paul left this morning for his conference and we will join him there tomorrow. A couple of days on hte beach, a round or two of golf, sunshine and relaxation...here I come!

Gotta go get something to eat and feed Turner. I gained 0.6 lbs. this time but I am thankful for that since I was on vacation last week.

Chat later!

Susan, have a wonderful time. You deserve this vacation! Rest and relaxation is soon to come for you. Take a walk on the beach and think of me. I wish I lived close to a beach. That is an ocean beach not a reservoir. We have that very close by but doesn't count! Right Lori?? You did fine on your diet. Don't beat yourself up on vacation either. Enjoy it and then come home and start again. Bye bye!

Aghhh, Sandy, that laugh hit too close to home! One time, I DID forget!

I guess I'll have to email Bonnie. An 'Inquiring mind' wants to know.

Always the rollercoaster you guys are. Yeah Turners wrist is better, whaaa Jason has gone, huh...??? with Bonnie, yeah pounds are dropping. Whew, I'm beat.

Night all.

Night Lori. Sweet dreams.

Sally, I looked in the phone book and found 2 curves by me. Will call them in the morning. I also looked on their website but it really isn't all that informative. I want to know more. Inquiry minds want to know!!!

Yes, check into it....I have yet to hear of anyone that doesn't love it.

They have machines and it takes 30 minutes to go around 3 times and they said it is equal to l l/2 hr workout. It is like exercising under water and really it is fun.
