Just "Wondering" if anyone is sailing at this time???

Can't wait to get back onboard again!!!

Hi...I'm new to the boards and I just booked a land and sea vacation which begins at the Poly on 10/13/05. We board the Wonder on 10/16/05. I am a Disney "vet" but never cruised before...we're very excited!! Maybe you can answer some of the questions we have since you are a pro at this cruising thing!!! I have not seen any other posts from anyone else cruising on this date...anyone else out there???

Jen

I didn't want to whole ship for a private cruise!! LOL just kidding! We are a large group we have 8 cabins booked. I am getting excited!! We love going at this time weather is usually just perfect! Not sure if I'm a Pro yet...there is sooo much I learn on every cruise. But will be happy to help with any questions! My best advice so far is to purchase the Field Guide Passporter Book and ask these boards. They know everything about Disney Cruise and WDW!! Hope we have more joining us!!

Did you happen to do the Dolphin Encounter or Swim while in Nassau? I did buy the Passporter, and you're right, it is full of great tips!
Anyone else sailing on this date?

Jen,
I didn't want to get off that beautiful ship!! Our kids were small and we just stayed on while my DH did the snorkeling excursions. DH booked last time at the Guest Relations Desk and the time before that he did Stewart's Cove that our travel agent found. Both times were good with the exception of rough waters on a small boat. I get a little seasick in small boats and didn't want to ruin my time so didn't risk it. I or any of our family has not done the Dolphin Encounter but it sounds neat! This time DS(9) wants to see Atlantis. I am looking into booking a day room at either Atlantis or Comfort Suites so we can enjoy the "Dig" and the pools for the day. My only concern is the cab ride. It can be a little white knuckling ride according to my DH. Hope others are sailing too....it might be a little spooky if we are the only passengers. LOL... pirate:

Hello! My wife, kids, and I will be on the Wonder on October 16. :cool1: I'm glad to find some others who will be there! We have been on 12 cruises, but this will be our first Disney cruise. It will also be the first cruise for our children (ages 6 and 8). We are really looking forward to trying a Disney cruise. Of course, ANY cruise is good in our book! (Well, almost any cruise. We found out long ago that not all cruise lines are equal!) Anyway, we will be driving to Cape Canaveral a day ahead, and are trying to decide where to stay that night. Any suggestions? I've heard that the Ron Jon Cape Caribe Resort is excellent.

We are doing Ron Jon's also! Couple nights before sailing. My folks stayed at Radisson last time we cruised. They loved it and had no complaints about their stay. They ate at Grill's Sat Nite before sailing and was able to wave at the Magic departing. I wanted to be on the beach and the Radisson is not on the beach. So we would also like to hear if Ron Jon's is comparible to Radisson? This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise we have been on another but I don't think anyone can touch Disney. Just my Opinion. Glad to see others are going in October!! ::MickeyMo

We have heard (and read) a lot of good things about Grills. The prices and menu look great! We'll definitely eat there late Saturday afternoon for supper. It ought to be a great spot for cruise ship watching! :magnify:

Well, we can't seem to decide where we're going to stay Saturday night the 15th. My vote is for Ron Jon Cape Caribe, but we won't even arrive in Cape Canaveral until early that afternoon. I'm not sure that will leave us enough time to enjoy the resort. I would hate to pay $150 for one night in a resort that we might not even have time to enjoy!

There will be 12 from KY on the 4 night October 16, 2005 cruise. This will be our 3rd and our friends first. I am so excited. I never had the opportunity to meet any DIS'ers on my previous cruise but I am looking forward to it this time. Looking forward to hearing from ya!!

I'm so excited! DH, me and DS(2) will be there. :wave2: We have never cruised before. It sounds like we're starting with the best cruise out there. :) We are also going down a day early and are looking for a good reasonable place to stay. Ron Jon Caribe looks great but sounds a little pricey. Any other recommendations?

It's good to hear from others who will be on the Wonder with us! Just think--in a little less than 4 months, we'll be on the cruise! :boat: Since my wife and I have been on 5 other cruise lines, we are looking forward to seeing what the Disney cruise experience is like. So far, we have heard nothing but good things about DCL.
I guess we're going to stay at the Cocoa Beach Best Western. It is inexpensive, and should suit our needs for one night. The way I see it, we just need a place to sleep. We don't plan to stay inside very much while in Florida.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on the ship! :wave2:
