My name is Misty and my husbands name is Jeff. Our daughter's name is Kaitlynn. This is all new for us. I was reading the posts. We have a reservation at the Country Inn's & Suites. Do we need to book the shuttle bus on Saturday? We are arriving on Thursday evening and going to sight see on Friday. We decided to rent a car from the airport to hotel.

Thank you all for being so welcoming.

A group of us have booked the Raddison in Coco Beach which is only about 10 from Port. A group of us stayed there this past Oct for the Eastern Cruise. They also have a shuttle thats leaves the Raddison at 10:00 Am gets you there in about maybe 10 min. You get there early enough to check in and they start boarding at 11:am
As of now I think theres at least twenty or more of us staying there.
The rate at the Raddison is around $120.00 per night.
Hope this helps

Hi,

We are staying at AKV the night before the cruise. If we are able to get out Palo reservation when the window opens we plan to take the DME since there is not rush to get to the port.

If we don't get Palo we will rent a car, drop it off at the rental agency and take the shuttle. We did this the first time and it worked well for us.

For our first cruise we wanted to be very early, we were 2nd to check in. We wanted to have time to walk around the terminal (not very big) and take pictures before the crowds started. it was fun to watch everyone check in and you could feel the excitement as everyone was waiting to board.

We would prefer to sleep in the morning of this cruise and relax, but we want Palo brunch. So this is the driver for our decision.

I think you just need to figure out whether you want to be there early and be people watchers and soak in everything or enjoy the bus ride and the quick check in. There are usually no crowds at the terminal by the time the bus gets there. Definitely easier to take the bus though.

Thank you to both "njprincess" and "philatiger"

You both mentioned things that I have not even thought about yet. And this will be my first Disney cruise...have been on other cruise lines but never Disney. We wanted to do the Palo Brunch also...so it looks like I will know which route to go if I can get Palo Brunch res. prior since this will determine rental or ME.

This will be DCL cruise #11 for us. Yippee for Platinum status!

We always either drive our own car or rent one and park at the port. THe stuff I don't need in my Owner's Locker stays in the car!
We like to arrive 1 or 2 days before the cruise and stay at WDW for several days after.

You need to know what night/morning you want for Palo dinner and brunch and then book on-line as soon as you can. They are both not to be missed in my book!

I will make my spa ressies on-line when I can as well.

Fill out all of your paperwork on-line prior to checking in at the teminal and life will be easier for you and for everyone in line behind you!

You can fill out all the info for your child for the clubs ahead of time too.

We will be on deck 9 relaxing and getting a bite to eat. We gave up on Topsiders our last cruise. Too crowded and the food isn't really all that good. I will also skip the watered-down drink of the day and get a nice vodka tonic!

DH is the packer and unpacker. I take DD who will be 8 at cruise-time to the Mickey pool while DH unpacks the room.

We have a cat 10 this time which will be new for us. Since we have had our daughter, we have always gotten a balcony. I have spent many nights out there trying to get her to go to sleep. Love that sea air! Prior to our DD, we always had a cat 11.

Hi,

I am going on the disney magic on 10-16-2010. It will be me, my husband and my then 3 year old daughter. We have never been on a cruise before and do not know what to expect. Our room number is 7552. Is that a good room? We will be celebrating my husbands birthday, my daughters birthday and our anniversery. I am excited. :cheer2:

Do you have any advice for us? :confused3

Thank you

Welcome aboard..... Any cabin on the Magic is a good cabin...

You will have a wonderful time. Spend some time in the regular Disney Cruise Line forum, you will get lots of great info and everyone is more than happy to answer any question(s) you might have.

Howdy! :wave2:

I'm Kathy traveling with my brother Frank.

Sounds like you have a lot to celebrate! Just hang around here for awhile and you get lots of advice. And don't be afraid to ask questions if you don't understand something we're talking about.

I agree that any cabin on the Disney Magic is a good cabin :thumbsup2

Welcome!

Haven't stayed at the Country Inn but I believe there are a few others on this thread that are staying there. You might want to call the hotel to find out if you need to reserve the shuttle.

Palo brunch is the best! :yay: Love that Palo pizza!!! :cloud9:Not to mention the Bellini's :cloud9:

You can certainly try to book Palo online - you might have no problem. They always hold back a certain percentage of reservations to be booked on the ship, so don't give up if you don't get it online.

On our first cruise we were able to reserve Palo dinner and brunch when we got on the ship. So they do hold some spots open. This cruise actually adds another brunch day the morning of Key West...

Welcome aboard.
Were (Me Ron/Rico/ long story, my fiance Danielle, Kaitlin 10 and Ronald jr 11) staying at the CIS also.
As long as the CIs knows your doing the cruise packages your good to go.You wont make your shuttle reservations, until the minute you checkin at the front desk. Theyll give you the times the shuttle leaves, and you pick the time. On the return, theyll give you a voucher, and a phone number to call. They come get you at that point. We missed the 1st bus by maybe a minute in August, and the second one was maybe 5 minutes at the most.

Quick tips.
In your carry on, pack a bathing suit, change of clothes, and always and I do mean always no matter where you go TAKE A CAMERA WITH YOU.You will never know who or what youll run into.In the first cruise I took with Dani and her daughter and my son 2 years ago, we literally were almost run over by Chip and Dale in the midships atrium on deck 5.30 seconds later, Minnie came up the stairs, and shared an elevator ride with us to the atrium. You cant beat that.On our last cruise coming out of Nassau, I walked out of Animators for a few minutes to watch the harbor pilot be taken off the ship.I turned and looked at the doors, and who do I see but Chip and Dale.Of course my battery had died in the camera I was using at the time, I ran inside to Animators, grabbed both of the kids and my good camera and ran back, and Chip and Dale were still alone. My self and 1 other family had them to our selves for about 5 minutes eaWith about 12 people standing within 50 feet of us we had them to ourselves for about 5 minutes each until they had to go.

Our 3 year old is named Kaytlyn... great minds think alike. GLad to meet you

Thank you all for being so nice and welcoming. Since reading this my husband and I went to radisson web site and now we are staying there. He wanted the 2 bedroom king suite with whirlpool in the bedroom. He is spoiled. The hotel looks very nice and since there is going to be alot of you guys there we might bump into each other. I already got the reservation for the 10am shuttle. I called and got right thru to a person. No trouble at all. This hotel is a little bit more money but we think it might be worth it.

We cannot wait to go. We are big children and are very impatient. Why does it have to take so long?

Does anybody know how to get cheaper airfare? I am still searching but we are switching between American Airlines to United. If you guys have any suggestions please let me know.

Thank you

I hope your kaytlyn and my kaitlynn can be friends on the ship. It would be nice for them to have someone to play with. Nice to meet you too.

My favorite site is kayak.com. They compare all adn tehn send you to the airline site to book. I've neverr had a problem with any of the other travel websites, but I do like that I book with the airline direct. They dont' cover AirTran or Southwest, but do have most others, including osme very small local companies. good luck!
