We had about 50 on the Double Dip. There was no set day, which was cool because just about every time we returned to the room there would be new stuff. :cool1:
Most people did get all the FE stuff done during the first 1/2 of the cruise though. Some people had more than one gift to give and did them on multiple days. Like a main gift on Sunday and then a special pirate night gift on pirate night. Or a gift to the parents and then a gift for the kids. Some people did certain gifts for those with kids and certain ones for those without. So try to be creative and have as much fun with it as you'd like!:thumbsup2

WOW 50 is a great group. I actually shipped my FE stuff down ahead of time and it worked out great it was waiting for me in my room when we got there!!

Bruce, is mad at me..LOL!!!!!!!!!! I was telling him about your bag of beers on Deck 9.. He was like news to me.. You never told me they were up there every night.. Nice he says they must think I'm anti-social...>LOL!!! He told me that he is coming up at night to see you on this cruise ..... since He says I never told him on this cruise... I know I did it was one of the moments that he had "selective hearing." LOL!!!!!!!!! I told him that is why dear you need to listen to what I am saying...LOL!!

HAHAHA!!!! SELECTIVE Hearing, I have that all the time...I constatnly have to ask what dis you say.....I am usually in my own little world...Probably thinking about our cruise.

CAN MY DH join in on the drinking.....me too i might want to too....But on our first cruise he and one other guy would go tot eh QUIET COVE and have a CIGAR>

OOhhhh you're bringing the blender again? Woohoo 151 proof again :)

OOOHHOOHHH We bring our MAGIC BULLET is that what you guys have??

Oh yes,, of course..151 Proof all the way, heck we went through five bottles of that stuff last time...LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HA we only went through 2 WOW!

I am playing cartch up here, i fell asleep last night in the recliner with the LAPTOP on my Lap, I had been up since 3:30 yesterday morning, i think it was about 1 am my Dh got me up and put me in the bed.

HA we only went through 2 WOW!

I know five seems like a lot but there were two families sharing that and using the blender...LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, as long as I'm on here, I'll hit you guys with another question. Regarding the FE exchange, do we have to give everyone the same thing??? I'm thinking I could slowly start looking for neat things now, but don't have a clue as to how many people I'll need to buy for. Any suggestions? Just thinking that the earlier I start, the more I can find and collect ;)

NO you do not have to give eveyone the same thing....
On our first cruise, I WAS FAR TOO AMBITIOUS....HA:rotfl2: I made magnets for eveyone to give out respectivley give out EACH night according to what the theme of the day was.....say Pirate Night or FORAML night etc....DAY 2 i realize i am not doing this walk every night....So i waited until the night before the last nigth and gave the rest out all at once I also bought some candies cause it was Halloween Cruise.

On second Cruise, I had Little time cause i booked it 6 weeks out, so i just went to BJs ware house store and bought HUGE bags of candy and went to Dollar tree and bought one NON candy thing for each room and put it all in party bags.

THIS CRUISE i have plenty of time so i think i will just be picking up things as i see them, and NO i doubt if every room will be alike as we wont have a clue until Close time for the cruise as to how many rooms. I guess i will just keep it all in a box until ready to pack it up then seperate it according to room, liek kids ages in room or gender.

As far as how many to plan for
I would right now start out planning for at least 5 over what we have then just readjust accordingly....
IF you have extra the servers LOVE TO GET GIFTS!!!!

Hey Angie,

As far as Fish Extender gifts last cruise we all had a specific day that we delivered on it made it easier. I think last time we had 27 people in the FE Exchange. It was FUN the kids loved coming back to the room and seeing what was left for us. Some of us did gifts from our state or country. Others just did Disney Gifts or anything FUN!!! I think we even got some pirate themed stuff.!!!

We got lots of great stuff in ours... We got Disney pins for the kids, we got small bottles of alchohol for us....as people knew we had our magic bullet with us.
We got moon pies and candy and pirate stuff and candy and pens and pencils and one couple bought souviniers in each port, dont know if that was for everyroom or just some rooms. I would say just about ANYTHING you can fit in the FE is acceptable. It is a GIFT!!!:thumbsup2

I hope that I have not scared the rest of the thread away. Anyone seen Lynn, Mike, Jack, Jen, Ron, Michelle, Chris, Deb, JanP, Angiengary, Donaldsthebest or Mousemadness?????

Nah, just trying to bob and weave my way through all the inside stuff. :)

okay well i guess then we look like the heavy drinkers as it wa just the 2 of us......:cool1:

And i have rough weekends.....i get up very early on sat and sun so i am early to bed.

:rotfl2:
OOOHHOOHHH We bring our MAGIC BULLET is that what you guys have??

Hey, I have one of those little blender things...didn't know you could bring one of those on board.

Not a heavy drinker, but, ummm, do tend to drink a little more now that I have kids  ;) :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

This is all good to know. Now if I'm out somewhere and see something I'll go ahead and pick it up, even if it's just a couple of items here and there. :)

Thse magic bullets are great.....We specifically bought it for the cruise. We saw someone mention it on another meet thread and saw one on sale......we use it all the time at home the kids LOVE to blend up frozen drinks.
We came up with soem great concoctions on the cruise.

We go and get fruit and keep it in the room, and belndit u with juice and liquor or we also did a coffee ice cream kaluha....YUMMMMYYYYY!!!!!! That is A GREAT MORNING DRINK!!!!!!!!:rotfl2:
Keep some kilk in your fridge and have kids bring back ice cream and fruit and they can make their own yummy milk shakes!!

Fun too see what all you can make!!!!!!!!

Have a good after noon all I am on my way to 1/2 day of work:surfweb:

Yuck!!!!

THOUGH I WOULD RATHER DO A 1/2 DAY THAN A WHOLE DAY!!!!!

I hope that I have not scared the rest of the thread away. Anyone seen Lynn, Mike, Jack, Jen, Ron, Michelle, Chris, Deb, JanP, Angiengary, Donaldsthebest or Mousemadness?????

Heck no. It takes a lot to scare me away!;)

And it wasn't intentional LOL. We looked at the 5 day Bahamas cruise, too rich for us so here we are :)
Us too. We origiannly had the 9/26/09, then switched to the 8/17 5 Night Key West, but this cruise was just so much cheaper (and longer!) we switched to it.
(NO we don't plan on switching again...:rolleyes1

Do you guys have some kind of number that you start out planning for??

You can do whatever you like. It is easier to get everybody the same thing..but some people on our last cruise did awesome individualized gifts, like rattles, teethers, a handmade blanket and onesies for the baby, toys and candy for the older kids and useful adult items for us, like highlighters, notebooks, mini scrapbooks and post it notes. I would guess start out shooting for around 50...I think that is a safe number. I have seen quite a few go over it, and just as many under it, so I think it is about the median number. Just judging by our early activity here, I would say we might go over it....:rolleyes1

We had about 50 on the Double Dip. There was no set day, which was cool because just about every time we returned to the room there would be new stuff. :cool1:

I have some advice here. While the end of our cruise was dissapointing with only a couple of drops after day 4...be aware if we do the "assigned" day thing, it may not go as planned. We had issues on our cruise with group activities and such on assigned days, it just seemed that once people's vacations got going, they did not necessarily end up doing the organized things b/c they got busy doing this and that (or dis and dat to the parrotheads) and forgot or just didn't have time for the DIS stuff...us included in one instance. I think as long as we have several folks promise to save their drops til the end so we know it will be spread out at least a little bit, we should be fine without having to assign days...just my $0.02:thumbsup2

Here is a picture of our booty. Sorry it is not all clearly visible....it filled one whole castaway club tote and one other little tote bag:

The kahlua coffee sounds great!
Although our crappy fridge on our last cruise would've soured milk in an hour!:lmao:

Ron was making up milkshakes on deck also!!!:thumbsup2

I'm still here...

I will do my best to keep up with reading posts, but if I get behind, Lynn always fills me in (Dizzi). Traditionally, I haven't been active on the board, and I cannot commit to being extremely active over the next 2 years. I think one DISboard addict in the family is enough. I can say though to all the DH's out there who may be going on a Disney cruise for the first time, it is a great experience. You would have to be a total Scrooge McDuck to not get swept up into the Magic. I am not a Disney freak like Lynn, but I have always been happy with any Disney experiences from WDW, Disneyland, and DCL. :thumbsup2

I am definitely up for hanging at the Cove area in the evenings. It never seemed to be a happening place in the evenings, at least on our two cruises. So far, it seems rum is the choice. Let me know what we should bring. I can drink just about anything. As Lynn stated earlier, we will have our Magic Bullet with us.

Take care,
Mike

awwwww poor guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought he didn't want to come chat and drink with us???????????? LOL

That is very nice of you guys. To capture the son-in-law doing the YMCA on stage is a timeless classic!!! R

it should be a great show for a Christmas get together!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl2:

Good Morning Everyone,
Since I had a couple of free minutes I thought I would take this time to introduce my family.

My name is Angie :goofy: , my dh is Gary :ewok: and our 6 year old son is Geoffrey :yoda: . We can't wait to join you all for our first cruise. We will be travelling with our good friends the Jenkins (Mousemadness):yay:

Monica has already posted the some of the questions we've talked about (:thanks:Monica), but I have a couple more. On average how many people are included in the fish extender? Do we do something daily for the people included or just one thing on a certain day? Like Monica, I would like to start looking for items so just a rough guess would be fine. Also I would love to hear more info on turning our reservation over to a TA. Who do you use? Do different agents offer different obc? etc

Have a great day everyone.

Angie

the amount of people depends on how many want to join!!!!!!!!!! it really is FUN and you get to visit the ship!!! we got SO much stuff too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you have any other questions about it, I was the one who was in charge of it on our last cruise......and I think some people here nominated me to do it again for this cruise LOL
I'll wait a few more months before starting a list for the FE exchange......as it's still 2 years away;)

Monica,

I brought a full size blender that I brought on.. No one said anything!!!!!!!

Nah, just trying to bob and weave my way through all the inside stuff. :)

Ron...thanks....we developed some great friendships through these Disboards and finally got to meet these great friends onboard a couple of weeks ago. We are still kinda "into it." Good luck on the bobbing and weaving!!! LOL....Randy
