OK, question for you guys with a TA...

I have been thinking about transfering my reservation for the OBCs, but I have a dilemma. We've been using our Disney Visa exclusively (like an ATM) for the past several years in anticapation of this cruise. Right now, we have a large chunk to put down toward the cruise. From what I've gathered, I have to call them and somehow transfer this money over to a type of GC and then call and apply it to the cruise. Now, question, if I switch over now to a TA, can I still do that...or do I need to get the GC money applied through DCL before I transfer???

I hope I'm making sense
Umm....wish I could answer LOL I can tell you most of us use the same TA due to the amount of OBC we get from her. With cruise #2 we are getting $500

Actually, Monica I sent you an email!!!!!!!!!! KRistin

Well, as long as I'm on here, I'll hit you guys with another question. Regarding the FE exchange, do we have to give everyone the same thing??? I'm thinking I could slowly start looking for neat things now, but don't have a clue as to how many people I'll need to buy for. Any suggestions? Just thinking that the earlier I start, the more I can find and collect ;)

Do you guys have some kind of number that you start out planning for??
5 bucks should cut it. We just did something small that is local and we received stuff like candy bars and local treats. Being Canucks, we gave out small bottles of Canadian maple syrop and Tim Horton's coffee packs. There is a lot of candy being given out. My DW said if we run out of candy on halloween we have a back up plan but to be honest, we are making good progress on the 2 giant bowls we collected LOL

That's really great. Does it go by the category you book?? How can they afford to do this??

It does go by that but if you rebooked onboard you get two hundred then transfer it to a TA and then you get more....The TA that we use always offers more than I have ever seen anywhere else...!!!!!! DId you get my email???

500 seems to be a good amount. The shutters photo package we chose was 170, then about 125 or so from the gift shops, 100 for Castaway Cay and the rest were the odd gifts and umm....drinks LOL. We went fairly cheap on this one. We had 225 in OBC so this is pretty cool

So, I read you get 10% off for rebooking onboard PLUS DCL offers that high of an OBC?? Looks like if things go well, it'll be worth booking on this cruise for our next cruise ;)

Yes, you get the 10 percent off for rebooking on board. Plus $200.00 OBC and then if you transfer it to a TA then you can get their OBC too. That is why many of us have transfered to our TA since we get a high OBC...Yes, it is worth it to rebook onboard!!!

No idea. We got 200 from Diney for rebooking onboard and 300 from our TA

FYI,, Denis, last cruise our group was soo large our overall price dropped by $75.00 for each family...!!!!!!!!!

Thanks. I'll check it and give her a call in the next day or so.

TTFN :rotfl:

It is worth it to get an OBC my first cruise I did not even know I could get an OBC.. The TA I used then did not even offer me one..

The OBC does come in handy!!

Hey Guys I am still here:wave:

You are either 8 or 5 hours behind me, so when you are all talking I am in the land of nod;)

I try my best to catch up in the morning! It's getting busy here.

Good Morning Everyone,
Since I had a couple of free minutes I thought I would take this time to introduce my family.

My name is Angie :goofy: , my dh is Gary :ewok: and our 6 year old son is Geoffrey :yoda: . We can't wait to join you all for our first cruise. We will be travelling with our good friends the Jenkins (Mousemadness):yay:

Monica has already posted the some of the questions we've talked about (:thanks:Monica), but I have a couple more. On average how many people are included in the fish extender? Do we do something daily for the people included or just one thing on a certain day? Like Monica, I would like to start looking for items so just a rough guess would be fine. Also I would love to hear more info on turning our reservation over to a TA. Who do you use? Do different agents offer different obc? etc

Have a great day everyone.

Angie

Hey Angie,

I just sent you an email. Let me know if you get it or not. Thanks,
As far as Fish Extender gifts last cruise we all had a specific day that we delivered on it made it easier. I think last time we had 27 people in the FE Exchange. It was FUN the kids loved coming back to the room and seeing what was left for us. Some of us did gifts from our state or country. Others just did Disney Gifts or anything FUN!!! I think we even got some pirate themed stuff.!!!

We had about 50 on the Double Dip. There was no set day, which was cool because just about every time we returned to the room there would be new stuff. :cool1:
Most people did get all the FE stuff done during the first 1/2 of the cruise though. Some people had more than one gift to give and did them on multiple days. Like a main gift on Sunday and then a special pirate night gift on pirate night. Or a gift to the parents and then a gift for the kids. Some people did certain gifts for those with kids and certain ones for those without. So try to be creative and have as much fun with it as you'd like!:thumbsup2
