Occupy Wall Street

It has now become unpopular to achieve the American dream.:confused3 If someone makes a billion dollars a year (who is that by the way) then paying $150 million is good enough for me.

And if you want to be a hedge fund manager you should go out an be one.

With attaining the American dream also comes responsibilities to America. And yes, it's unpopular for those who earn more than a million dollars to pay a smaller percent than those who earn 50k. It's also unpopular that companies such As GE and bank of America don't pay any taxes. And its unpopular that big oil gets millions in tax rebates from the u.s. Government. Actually, these practices are quite unpopular and the government (on both sides) seem unwilling or unable to do anything about it. And this is why there is so much support for those occupying wall street.
The American dream has worked out for very few at the expense of so many.

No, because I think you're overestimating the power of the Federal Reserve and underestimating the amount of government control over it.

As a general rule, I consider claims that powerful megacorporations and bankers control the world to be a form of silly conspiracy theory. Paul-ite and LaRouche-ite goldbugs are usually nuts ignorant of economics. The post earlier with quotes from Rothschild and Lindbergh was typical of these borderline anti-semitic conspiracy theories (not that I think you personally are anti-semitic, but much of the agitation about international bankers is).

If you have particular complaints about actions taken by the Federal Reserve, make and explain them, and we can argue about it. When the claim isn't more specific than "a cabal of banks is ruining the world," there's nothing to discuss.

Eh. . .we can agree to disagree. I think there are many examples of the failure of the Feds. I have a problem, in general, of there being too much centralized power without accountability. That's from me looking at this from a historical perspective. . .hell, the 5th plank of Marxist's Communist Manifesto reads:

5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.

There are criticisms of the Federal Reserve system, I'm sure you are aware of. . .the lack of accountability and openness, the cronyism, the inequity of power, etc.

My argument isn't just with the "cabaL of banks ruining the world" but economic policies have social and political ramifications. Control the economics and it's becomes easy to control those other factors.

Why should they be strip searched and locked up? The constitution gives us the right to assemble and protest. A's a matter of fact, it's one of our basic rights that the country was founded on.

You might want to reread the Constituion - we have the right to assemble, but it doesn't say protest. And once they left the area they had a permit to protest in they, starting stepping on the rights of others, well that is the moment they became crimals. A few rubber bullets would have end it real fast.
