I was just on virgin holidays site pricing up holidays for next year, as you do, and as we are a family of 5 our disney choices are usually limited. For next october however virgin are saying that we can have 5 in one room in all star movies, port orleans riverside and a studio at saratoga springs. These are normally maximum of 4 people but they are letting me get quotes for all 5 of us in one room. Are they changing these rooms for next year or is it still a mistake and if it is a mistake but we are able to book into one of them what would happen?

You may get away with it because of the 5 year old. POR has a trundle bed that pulls out, but not suitable for adults/teens as it is not full size. Saratoga might be okay - never stayed there, but All Star Movies I think you would be very cramped. The value rooms are very small. Adequate for me and my DD (7 last year), but I would NEVER have been comfy with another adult and 2 kids in there. Also, how much time do you spend in your room? We are never there unless showering or sleeping, but if you like some time out at the resort, you may want to consider the practicalities and comfort aspects.

I'm glad you asked this as I also noticed that SSR was allowing 5 in a studio on TCD. :confused3 I'm just not sure whether I could cope with all of us in one room.

Thanks we have stayed at the movies before, all 5 of us before the liitle one was 3, and it was tight but we coped and this year POR weren't allowing 5 so I wonder what has changed. I am just curious as to whether they have been upgrading these rooms or if virgin have made a mistake. We haven't looked at these resorts for a few years as we didn't fit.
I am more curious than wanting to book as we aren't planning on going next year anyway

I know how you feel, we are in one room this year at the BC and to be honest I am worrying about it, last year we were in the cabins at FW and it was great. We are staying at BC as we really wanted SAB and to get 2 rooms was to dear so we are in 1 :scared1:

We're booking for 5, 2 adults and two children and Virgin web won't let us book one room. If I change the 2 rooms that it defaults to, to one room it comes us with an erroe message! :confused3

I don't know for sure, but I think that you might encounter problems with Disney at check in, if you have 5 people booked into a room that is for a max of 4 people, unless of course one of the children is 3 or under.

Nothing has changed at POR. It is just that only the rooms in the Alligator Bayou have the trundle beds, so if there are none of those available it will show that they can't accommodate you. Do a google search on POR Alligator Bayou and you will be able to see some pics and reviews of the family rooms. It is a nice option as it's a darn side cheaper than a 1 bedroom villa on property or taking 2 rooms - which you dont' want to do on a family holiday. :)
