Is anyone else obsessively watching the weather? We leave in 10 days (yes! I can now check in online :cool1:), and I keep checking to see where the hurricanes are. Luckily, it seems that Earl is not going to affect Florida, and Fiona won't even affect the US. Now we just need to keep everything else after that, out to sea. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Yeah I know the feeling. I leave in 20 days and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that no new hurricanes form to affect my first trip to WDW!

Yes, I am currently watching the weather channel on both my tv and computer! We leave on Friday and I am freaking out -even though everyone is telling me not to. I mean experienced FL natives and the wife of a Navy officer.

This is our Disneymoon :bride: and my DH's first time at the parks and on the cruise. I just keep praying it will be alright. Nothing else I can do.

You are not alone, lots of Dis'ers concerned about the weather at this point. You are in good company.

So far it's fine down here, were just getting the wind (I live 45 min away from Disney). I heard that Hurricane Earl was going to hit the Carolina's and bypass us but we're still going to get some rain. :/

I'm glued to the weather channels etc but for a different reason... looks like Earl is heading towards us (Coastal Va/NC) I'm glad its not going to affect your vacations, but please say a prayer for our area!!!! Thanks all!

I leave in 7 days! I am super psyched!! I am super nervous about Fiona's little friend looming down there!!!! I will send a little prayer out for anyone that is going to be affected by this....espically, if they are at home!

I remember a few years ago we were delayed a day in getting to Disney because of a hurricane. But it was the best trip. The after hurricane weather was awesome and the parks were empty!! It was great!!

And I always watch the weather too.

We're watching too.... I'm trying VERY hard not to become obsessed about it. I keep telling myself, there's nothing we can do if it rains. You just really have to make the best of it.

I remember going about 15 years ago and it rained every single day. Not a little....it RAINED. but after we got ponchos, we kind of had the attitude, well, we can have a lousy time or just go with it. I'll tell you, it wasn't bad riding the water rides ! We were already wet !! (just make sure not to wear white shorts or t-shirts...bad idea there.....:lmao: ) And regardless of the rain, it's a WONDERFUL time !!

So, we leave in less than 17 days. I've got our ponchos bought and I'm bringing zip lock bags for the camera, etc just in case. I keep pulling Accuweather.com and Weather.com but I'm too far out yet for our forecast. So I keep praying for sunshine!!! ( pretty sure God's sick of me!!) :rotfl:

Good luck and safe trip to everyone going soon !!!!

We actually went this past year in March, the week before spring break. It rained nearly every day. But it did make for no crowds! If you take the precautions such as clothing that dries quickly and a poncho or something, it's not that bad.

But I will also keep my fingers crossed that you all have GREAT weather!:thumbsup2

ya just never know about those hurricanes...but I wouldnt worry too much if just going to the World..it's the cruisers that need to be watching more closely. Back in 2004 we had a trip planned for labor day weekend and then the Hurricanes came and it was the last week of Oct before we got to go..of course we live on the gulf coast so a lot of us not getting to go was because of hurricanes in our part of FL. I really wouldnt too much..you will be in a safe place. We will be there in about 35 days so we are really crossing our fingers!!! We have a backup plan...if we are told to evacuate about the time we are due to leave..we will pack up 2 cars..3 dogs and 1 cat and head on to Orlando (that is if one heads our way) Board the dogs and cat at the new Pet Resort on property and still have a good time. Nothing we could do at home if one hits except sit with no power for days!!! Would much rather be at the World.

Oh, yes... our first trip is in 18 days and I am definitely worried. Plus, I didn't buy trip insurance. :-(

Getting so excited but also checking the weather and worrying quietly here....

I understand completely! We leave in 16 days (super excited) and after Earl there is Fiona, Gaston (I'm a huge Beauty and the Beast fan), and another after Gaston. I hope the Atlantic calms down soon.

I don't mind rain, I am just a white-knuckle flyer, and I don't need any additional turbulence on the flight.

I'm feeling the same stress as everyone. We leave is 17 days and I've been tracking these storms non-stop. NHC, StormPulse, and Weather Underground have become my best friend. I'm very concerned about Gaston and the disturbance off the west coast of Africa.

Storms, storms go away! No more hurricane parade!

yep, i've been glued to all the weather sites, watching projected paths etc. not only bc i live in coastal jersey so i'm keeping an eye on earl, we also fly out next wednesday so keeping an eye on fiona and gaston to not affect our flights. not worried about the weather once we get there. a bad day at disney is still better than a bad day at home :)

I am right there with you all. We are supposed to fly out on the 10th and home on the 18th. I just cannot imagine having to deal with hurricanes while we are there or traveling. I just hope everything stays out over the Atlantic!

We'll be there the 10th through the 17th. :cool1::cool1::cool1:
I've been watching the weather, and I really think the storms are going to stay away from Florida. I'm praying for it at least. :thumbsup2

Totally completely obsessed!

I have been watching Gaston because we're in FLA from 9/9 - 9/13 but what I just read said Gaston was downgraded to a tropical depression. Let's hope it fizzles out!

We didn't tell our kids about this trip and if I have to cancel I'll be super-sad :sad1:

Hope everyone's trips go off without a hitch!
