and I know there are MANY of you here, how many times per trip planning do you call the WDW-DINE line with changes and additions and deletions. I've already called 5 times!!!! I feel like I am probably driving them crazy.

GUILTY !!! :) I write then rewrite my itinerary then reread it over then rewrite it. Then it starts all over again ! But isnt this part of the fun of going to Disney ? The anticipation ! Gotta love it !

I look at my itiniary about once a week, and we still have something like 10 1/2 weeks to go. However, I now have just cause--- today I got the call that 4 more people are joining our trip. (I knew this was a possibility). Makes our group growing to 12 now with 9 newbies!!!)

Obsession is the the eye of the beholder ;)

I like to think of myself as...thorough :)

I have only changed things twice, but I've considered at least 3 other changes :p

Laurie :)

Yeah, we are obsessive trip planners. My husband thinks it is his second job! He has a massive board that he has organized with days of the week. He has sticky paper with every activity we want to do at every park. The sticky notes get changed at least 4 times a week. When he comes home..he says.oh guess what I I found out..and right to the board.

I am not complaining. I am a stay at home mommy, so if the kids are asleep or playing or now the oldest at preschool (wow where does the time go)..I have time to play with it during the day. The bottom line is, once the trip is over we should have a lot of free time (but we will probably start planning our next trip!

DH thinks I need a 12-step program! We're just under 6 months from our trip, and I'm already planning...and changing...and re-planning...and changing again! LOL

I just can't seem to accept the fact that EVERYTHING can't be planned when taking a 1 year old! I'm trying anyway! Some things will just have to be played by ear. (That is almost painful to say!)

I pity WDW-DINE CM's when the 90 day mark rolls around! I'm sure DH would agree! LOL

I'm going in November and I spend a few hours each day planning in my head our itinerary.

I think part of the fun is planning your itinery for your stay, although it is never rigid,it gives us a good idea of what we're doing each day. There's also the added bonus of having something to look at & imagine what you're going to be doing at a certain time/day etc. Friends & family who have never been used to laugh at us then they go & suddenly realise why we do it!
Ok you can go & not plan anything but I would say that you'll probably miss something & if not you'll probably walk twice as far as you need to!

GUILTY AS CHARGED! I've called WDW at least 6 times for my November trip, including 2 to the resort directly. I spend at least an hour a day planning or researching, which I think is most of the fun anyway! In my plans, the weather is always perfect and the kids well behaved.

The last time I called I asked the CM if there is a record of how many changes I have made!! She said no, just that it has been modified. She laughed and said she makes tons of changes, too when she plans her trips. So, now I don't feel embarrassed about calling and changing stuff.

I love to plan - replan - ditch plan - new plan . . . .But to be honest, once it is time to do the PS's (90 days out now!) I make them and then don't change anything. Once at WDW, I will change things around here and there, but usually due to weather.

Jcemom- if your DH finds the 12-stepper, I'm sure my DH will sign me up too!

Isn't that the truth!?! LOL :p

Harambe...at this point, I think he's just trying to ignore me! :p Every day he comes home from work and I say "I saw on the DIS today..." and his eyes glaze over! lol

Our last trip was April of 2002. The day we got home, I started mapping out "Plan A" itinerary for our trip this coming September. In the past year and 4 months, I'm up to "Plan R."
This morning, we just went over what we think is the final, final, final plan! Many changes....some big...some very subtle....some requiring an embarrasing call to the dine line to cancel a triple-booked restaurant on a given night!

Count me in! Obsessive?? Maybe! I like to think of it as a hobby. Other than the kids, work, the house, .......this is what I truely enjoy. I spend many hours reading on the Dis then planning and replanning. I not only enjoy this, but I want my trip to be the best it can be. I am looking forward to my 90 day mark....I have a LOT of priority seatings to make and love to call WDW-DINE. Even when I called to cancel my priority seating for Mickeys Barbecue I was all excited just to have an excuse to call. I am brining along a couple of newbies so the planning is totally up to me.

Guilty here! But man, isn't it fun? Planning and anticipation is almost as fun as the actual trip....almost. It seems to pass the time. Not a day goes by that dh and myself don't say.....hmmmmm...if we were there right now this very moment which park would we be at and what attraction? Or we say...I am in an Epcot mood today, etc. Some people think its silly but I just think its fun! :bounce:

This will be my family's 3rd trip to WDW and yes..I am an obsessed WDW trip planner!! We have had this trip payed off since April of this year and we don't leave till June 30th 2004!!
I love looking on the diff. WDW websites ect. I have 2-3 different guide books, and I am on the Internet looking at the different
websites at least 2-3 times a week!
Planning is a big part of the "pre-WDW" fun! I really enjoy it!

Obsessive? Of course, isn't that what the DIS is for? But, I agree with the post by Chip126 - I don't think of it as obsessive, I think of my vacation planning as a hobby. And a very productive hobby at that! The more I plan, the better our trip is every time!
