Ive asked three times, but no one will answer.. does anyone have an address i can write to in regards to nutrition info for disney or to talk to someone about healthier choices??
Go to the WDW site and go to 'contact us'.

Seriously? Where was this? I'm not a fan of the fish-as-decoration trend.

It was in Disney Paris and it was really sad and I'm dead serious :sad1:
We told the waiters after our dinner that we did not like it and more people were complaining.

Disney will serve what the people want and in bulk quantities. How do you think that one person writing will change that?

Ya'll are so uppety. Relax and stop defending fat people. Every fat person at disney doesn't have a metabolic or thyroid problem. seriously.

Seriously, it's y'all. As in you all. I feel I need to write someone about the fact that people can not spell and how crazy it is making me!! It is becoming an epidemic!!

It appears you only went to 1 buffet while on vacation. How can you be so judgemental based on 1 experience.

I have been quite Pooh-sized all of my life, and also have PCOS. I am currently working to lose weight, and tend to eat very healthy when not on vacation. That said, while I may enjoy a few extra trips to the buffet while eating at Boma or elsewhere in the World, where I only get to enjoy the food one time a year, I also always substitute apple slices, grapes, or baby carrots for french fries at our counter service meals, which I almost always share with my DH. I also tend to drink MORE water at WDW than I do in my normal life, and we almost always lose weight while we are there.

As to the judgement of "morbidly obese" people and their use of ECVs. I have MS, and while it would certainly be easier to use an ECV at times, I never have. We just take it slow and rest often. It's comforting to know, though, if I ever feel the need to use one, there will be people out there, like the OP, ready to question my reasoning for needing the ECV.

wow I sure as heck would never ever send anyone to you for help or would ever think of going to you for help. "registered nutritionist " you must hate your job if that is how you feel about your potential clients, how do you manage to drag your self to work each morning knowing that you have to face these people that you evidently hold contempt for? You wonder why people with weight issues have problems when one that is "SUPPOSED" to be there to help them has this kind of attitude can you blame people for staying the heck away from people like you. Maybe people need to stop being so judgemental about others but then again its always good to come on here and with the ability to stay anonymous behind dis name

Is it just me, or does anyone else here get the distinct aroma of troll from this thread? :rolleyes1

I didn't read that post as particularly mean. I hate coming into a thread late because there's likely been worse things posted that I haven't seen!

I do know that there are people out there who help others lose weight that get really strict and almost "rough" with their clients. It seems to work for some. :confused3

I'm about 20 lbs overweight, but would much rather be overweight than be a judgmental, meanspirited person who judges people they've never met based only on physical appearance.

Hello All, i just returned from a lovely vacation. As a registered nutritionist however, i got a little worried with some things i saw. All of the portions at WDW are HUGE! I couldn't believe it. Many of the people i saw were on the larger side, and were going up to buffets as many as 4 times! Does anyone else thing Disney has a role to play in stopping this epidemic that is killing many people in this country?? How about smaller portions, more healthy options (i cant tell you how many times i saw burgers and ribs on menus)?? Lower salt options?? People can't make healthy choices if there aren't many to be had!! It seems some people go to Disney world solely to eat food. If the food is made healthier, we will all be better off. If i wrote to Disney, do you think it would make a difference?? I think the best way to start is to eliminate desserts with lunches on the dining plan. Completely unnecessary. Thoughts?? And anyone have an address to whom i could write??:goodvibes

** no time to read entire post, forgive if duplicate, I'm sure it is... **

Most disney vacations are 7-10 days a year max out of a person's life. Most families much less, only every few years or so.

Nobody can get obese in 7-10 days.

We eat very well/healthy all year. Having some treats and "bad stuff" is part of the vacation.

I think there are lots of healthy options if you are looking for them. Focus on what you want, not what you don't want and you'll find plenty.

:thumbsup2 Same here!!!

You complain about me being "rude" but you are equally mean in return. Hypocritical much?

Well let's see. You come on here and start being judgemental of people you know nothing about. I come on here and start trying to explain to you why you shouldn't be so judgemental. I'm sorry if you took what I was saying as being rude, but I was only trying to defend all of those you have no respect for.

Hmmm, I have a few comments on this as a medical student.

1. About 40% of our weight is genetically based (this also doesn't mean that we can't do something about this portion of it, it just makes it harder and sometimes impossible).

2. About 60% of our weight...we directly control. So, we should all be controlling that 60% factor (of course no one can force you to do that).

Now, that 40% of genetics doesn't change very much, but our collective weight as a country has increased exponentially over the past years. So, the huge increase is basically something many of us can control.

I know that the way many of us choose to treat our bodies is horrible, but at the same time, how do you weed out all the genetic factors? However, I can say that the weight problem in this country is astounding, and better education of patients and personal responsibility are the only solutions I see. I think we as physicians sometimes don't do our jobs. We think that telling a patient once a year over a 15 minute visit to lose wieght will really make a difference in their lives (of course physicians don't have much more time than that...really...try walking in their shoes one day...but this is another topic on how the health care system needs to change so we can spend more time with patients). But, there is much more that we can do as physicians. Patients must take responsibility for their own health as well. But, I believe that many people do not understand exactly what they are doing to their bodies, and what they can do differently. I think the solution is in education and personal responsibility. You may know something is "bad" for you...but without education, that is just sort of a vague statement.

Okay, yes, we all know that there is a dietary problem in our society. But, who are we to judge who has disorders, and who just likes to have that extra cookie? If everyone ate healthy, counted all of their calories and made sure their portion sizes were correct it would be great. But sadly, the world is not perfect. All of our different sizes and the way that we live our lives make us unique. You can't stop people from living the lives that they have grown up with, they do it on their own. Even if restaurants did cut back their portions, they can't control how much people purchase.

Disney has attempted to make healthier options, but they can't please everyone. I'm sorry if they are not pleasing you.
