We did an obb last week and it is with a travel agent. We want to transfer the booking to Costco. Costco said I needed to transfer it back to Disney then ask them to transfer to Costco. Sound right? Anyone done this?

Your current TA must release the booking for you to transfer it. Be aware that some TAs charge a fee to do this.

I believe it's true that the TA must release the booking back to DCL, then you transfer it to COSTCO.

Thx. She's out of the office for 2 weeks and the person covering for her seems reluctant to release. She wants me to wait until my TA comes back, in 2 weeks!

Yes that does sound right. Basically you will be changing from 1 travel agent to another so the first must release the reservation before you can do anything with it.

Shame. When you booked it, you should have said "no TA" and then you could have transferred it to Costco when you got home. You only have 30 days to get this done and your TA might drag it out, knowing this. Costco says they need 3 business days to process it.

Before you switch to Costco, double check that the savings at Costco are more than what your TA would offer you in on board credit. There might be other perks at Costco I am not aware as I have never booked through there, just thought I'd mention it.

Generally speaking, an 8% (of cruise cost) cash card is usually more than OBC offered by TAs.
