Obama's VP

But what a brilliant marketing ploy! Had I given my cell# or email addy to them I'd be quite ticked off at being fooled like that. What a trick!

it would be a pretty crappy trick I think. Seems fairly obvious to me......

If this is all true, and most likely it is...You do have to wonder what precisely were the Qualifications Obama gave Caroline Kennedy to use as Vetting points!:confused3

Well, DISUNC, if it is true, Caroline Kennedy is just another example of what happens when you give a BIG job to someone with no qualifications for such job, and no experience....

It's like playing that movie game...six degrees of Kevin Bacon...just with a political twist:rotfl2:

Secret Service dispatched to Bidens home, according to ABC.

Here's what I don't get.

Why didn't they announce it late this afternoon/evening, at the same time that all this stuff started leaking out?

A glitch maybe, in sending out the mass txt message?

I mean, it just doesn't make sense, if Biden IS the pick, they should have just gone ahead and pushed the send button right then.

Maybe a glitch in timing. Maybe they didnt want to announce / couldnt announce until he had SS protection, and it took longer than they thought. I assume they dont want to announce at midnite.

If it's Biden, I guess McCain's "temper" is off the table as a campaign issue. Joe Biden might just be the angriest man in America. I'm not a huge Romney fan, but good Lord, if McCain picks him he would wipe the floor in a debate with the angry, red-faced, lying, racial-insult-spewing (and bad comb-over-wearing) Biden. I just can't believe Obama's people think he would be a good choice. Can someone explain the upside of Biden to me?

I am really starting to suspect that a whole lot of folks have turned Obama down, thinking he's a loser in the General Election…

Funny thing, I haven't heard too much about McCain's temper this go around. Now in the 2000 primary, that is all I heard about.

Pretty much what I was thinking. :thumbsup2 Biden is a sweet gift to the GOP.

Obama called me personally to announce his running mate. ;)

I think Biden is a good choice.

Does McCain have that reputation still? I jsut haven't heard about that side of him several years. If anything he seems to have slowed down bit.

Frankly, Biden is a perfect choice for Obama (Jo'Bama has a nice ring to it) McCain has run a relatively negative campaign (my friend) and Obama has not retaliated a great deal. The job of the VP candidate is to do some of the dirty work, and I think Biden is up for the job.

Thank heavens it's Joe!!! Obama appears to have gone the "I need some gravitas!" route on this one. If you look at their resumes, Obama and Biden should be in the other person's spot on the ticket!

National Review has already come up with the perfect first line of the VP debate if McCain pick Gov. Bobby Jindal: "Senator, before we begin our debate, let me clarify for you that I don't work at a 7-11."

Some of these bloggers are just so good....

This from NRO's Jim Geherty:

One last thought before bed: Imagine McCain picking Gov. Bobby Jindal. First line at the debate, "Senator, before we begin our debate, let me clarify for you that I don't work at a 7-11."

Obama will have to first dispell all the hypocritical mess that his VP choice creates...talk about old washington...

Oh...and like I posted earlier...I'm curious how Obama justified this choice, and even moreso why Biden would tie himself to the very thing he campaigned in 1988 he was NOT, and how inexperience would be putting america in grave danger.

Between this, that lawsuit, and god-only-knows what the Clinton's have up their sleeves for this convention, I don't think you could script a more entertaining couple of weeks leading up to the Republican National convention....though some of us will be entertained for different reasons than others, and not all of them pleasantly.

I can see the entire democratic party fracturing beyond reconciliation before it is all said and done.

While I actually really like Jindal, he already said no way, no how.

If I could pick anyone in the republican spectrum for a VP choice, it would have been JC Watts, but he's not interested either.
