Man, the attack ads on Obama featuring quotes from his own running mate are just going to be brutal:

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos: “You were asked is he ready. You said ‘I think he can be ready, but right now I don’t believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.’”

Sen. Biden: “I think that I stand by the statement.”

Thank heavens it's Joe!!! Obama appears to have gone the "I need some gravitas!" route on this one. If you look at their resumes, Obama and Biden should be in the other person's spot on the ticket!

National Review has already come up with the perfect first line of the VP debate if McCain pick Gov. Bobby Jindal: "Senator, before we begin our debate, let me clarify for you that I don't work at a 7-11."

Obama might want to polish up a nice big silver platter, seeing as how he's gonna need it to hand over this election.

Some advisors somewhere should be fired (or given raises by republicans) for this choice. First he goes on the record years ago stating that inexperience has no place in the white house, then states earlier this year that Obama is not qualified, AND he states that McCain is a good choice for this country.

Either Obama really has no clue, or maybe he plans to use one of those flashy things like they have in Men In Black to erase all of America's memory of things in the past.

Does McCain have that reputation still? I jsut haven't heard about that side of him several years. If anything he seems to have slowed down bit.


Frankly, Biden is a perfect choice for Obama (Jo'Bama has a nice ring to it) McCain has run a relatively negative campaign (my friend) and Obama has not retaliated a great deal. The job of the VP candidate is to do some of the dirty work, and I think Biden is up for the job.

I think that this basically is going to lose Obama the election, just in one respect.

Here's what I don't get.

Why didn't they announce it late this afternoon/evening, at the same time that all this stuff started leaking out?

A glitch maybe, in sending out the mass txt message?

I mean, it just doesn't make sense, if Biden IS the pick, they should have just gone ahead and pushed the send button right then.

The whole thing was a hoax to collect cell phone numbers. Did you really think the SS would not be informed first and dispatched to protect the named VP? That's a big tip-off to the media.

Biden is a gift that will keep on giving to the GOP; A "stuffed shirt" to go with the "empty suit". Chet Edwards had a lot of conservative votes; that might have been a problem, a agree. I wonder if the bumper sticker;

How does anyone explain this freak show of a ticket? There were so many other choices for Obama's VP that would have made more sense. Did they all say no? Does that explain the 5 a.m. decision? The hope and change candidate picked everyone's racist uncle with bad hair plugs and sansabelt pants to be his running mate! Oh Lord, here's comes Uncle Joe. My explanation for this ticket is that it is going to make people like you sound shrill and panicked. Your post shrieks. It was closer to 3am and if you'd been watching the news, you would have known it was going to be Biden. No one else was so relaxed. Biden was cutting trees and taking stumps out with his nephews and friends. As soon as I saw that, I knew.
