Obama's VP

My explanation for this ticket is that it is going to make people like you sound shrill and panicked. Your post shrieks. It was closer to 3am and if you'd been watching the news, you would have known it was going to be Biden. No one else was so relaxed. Biden was cutting trees and taking stumps out with his nephews and friends. As soon as I saw that, I knew.

Shrill and shrieking? Project much? Read your comments above again. That's what panic looks like.

I was totally serious in my post. I do not get this choice. What is the upside of this guy? That he can be mean and sneering? What does he bring to this ticket? You couldn't find a more opposite choice for the "hope" and "change" theme if you tried. Hope and change, "I'm a new kind of candidate," and "McCain's too old" are just off the table now. This just perplexes me. I'm no Obama supporter, but there were soooo many better choices: Richardson, Sebelius, Bayh, Edwards (Chet), and not least of all, Clinton. As a McCain supporter, I am sitting here thinking "Could McCain be this lucky?" No panic. Just puzzlement.

How does anyone explain this freak show of a ticket? There were so many other choices for Obama's VP that would have made more sense. Did they all say no? Does that explain the 5 a.m. decision? The hope and change candidate picked everyone's racist uncle with bad hair plugs and sansabelt pants to be his running mate! Oh Lord, here's comes Uncle Joe. He's gonna try to kiss me, pat my as$, and tell a Jew joke. Quick, hide me!

You really need to put a spew alert on this message. That is the funniest damn thing I've read yet!

Actually, I think it's a pretty good choice for him. Not for how he looks to the Democrats or Republicans, but for how it will look to the Independents. Of course the drawback will be the ads that are immediately available (that the left will laugh off, the right will cheer on, but how will the independents take it). However, he (Biden) does answer a yes when it comes to the question "would you trust him to lead should something happen to Obama".

And, how he did it, I think he was getting as much play from the "house crisis" before moving on from there. Of course it made him a lier to his followers again, but he knew they would find excuses to over look it. He is not a new politician, he is an old Chicago politician. He has been deeply involved with the Democratic Party in Chicago since 1992, with Project Vote.
For those thinking he is new to this, he was taught by the best political machine in the country, and has been practicing it for 16 years. That is not new.

Here's the first ad. Pretty effective, especially the "wince" by Obama after Biden speaks.

The best part of last night was looking through the lefty blogs as the whole media drama/text message fiasco unfolded. The might Kos had this on his site:

This has been the best veep rollout EVER. . . . s there a better example than this that old media is getting left out in the cold?

and then the Obama campaign promptly hung him out to dry, with their confirmation to AP, CNN, MSNBC, etc..... They even posted it on their website before they sent the text. :rotfl2:

But what a brilliant marketing ploy! Had I given my cell# or email addy to them I'd be quite ticked off at being fooled like that. What a trick!

The DNC already handled giving over the email addresses. I started getting emails from the Obama people in July - I have never and will never sign up to get their emails. I made it VERY clear why I was unsubscribing to all of the DNC mailings.

Just got a letter from Obama yesterday asking for money...:lmao: I checked, but hell had not frozen over yet.

Yea, real smart. They text everyone at 3am, right in the heat of prime time! good job:thumbsup2

Some are suggesting the texting time choice was an "up yours" to Hillary Clinton and her phone ringing in the White House at 3 a.m. ad…

Well - I get the time thing now - but geez - that's non-productive, isn't it?

 hadn't thought of that Why else would they pick 3 a.m.? Geez, if that is true...
Well, that's be no way to attract Hillary's supporters.:headache:

Honestly, why else would they choose 3am? It really serves now purpose. I think it was some sort of dig.

If I was Hill and Bill, I would be no-shows at the convention.

Oh, this little theory is picking up traction:

And I don't think Hill and Bill would miss this convention for the world. I think they'll be there, and I think they'll act appropriately surprised when the crowd starts screaming "Hillary! Hillary! Hillary!" They'll be shruggin' their shoulders and saying, "Gosh, this sooo unexpected" — and then they'll hand out the Hillary signs. :rotfl:
