I would like to preface my comment that it is based on very little information. Based on what the focus of the task force really is, I may changemy view.
If allegations of fraud are handled equally, I do not have much problem with it.
If they seek out to initiate themselves to remind voters(without having an actual fraud complaint) that obama is Christian, etc.....I have a problem with that. But yeah, I would like lies in ads to be legally handled. That is not politics. That is fraud. We should be better than that. But legitimate complaints should be handled from both sides.
But frankly, I am in awe of the LACK of fraud complaints. I am in awe of the lack of civill suits for slander - especially with the 527 ads in years past.
1.) If Obama wants to pay for it out of his pocket-fine. Out of OUR (taxpayer)pockets...not fine.
2.)Attorney CLEARLY stated "Christianity" and that it was sidetracking from the "real issues" and was confusing Missouri voters.
Confusing for Missouri voters-is that "nice" for Missouri voters are finding them selves questioning?
Hate to hurt the attorney's feelings...as a bible weilding voter who enjoys clinging to her religion and guns...it IS a VERY serious issue. As serious as the economy, foreign policy, welfare, health care, and several other issues.
Comes off as "Obama scared in Missouri".
If people are volunteering on their own time, without their uniforms, without their positions, jobs, offices, being known, that is one thing. If however, the public can make a connection between their roles in law enforcement, it is indeed a scary thing. "Lies" should be handled in civil court, not in criminal court. There should be nothing that suggests that the line could be crossed.
