Obama supporters! - A positive place to talk about his campaign

I don't know why I do this to myself but I watched Morning Joe while getting ready in the morning today and none other but that bumbling fool Ed Rendell was on. :headache:

I wish I could have called in and had a few words with him after he said on multiple occasions that people are drinking the Kool-aid by supporting Obama. What an idiot.

It's sad and disturbing. I could understand someone being a fighter, but at some point, you have to accept reality. I don't know whether she actually believes the stuff her campaign says or she's no longer able to tell the difference.

I don't know if she a liar, a panderer, or just delusional. It is very sad to watch because if she had kept that part of her in check, she might've taken it all. If she hadn't gone negative against Obama, thereby sending her negatives sky high, she might've been able to win the nonimation. Now, she's seems like a sad shell of what she was 6 months ago.

I do think she should stay in until at least IN/NC but if she loses PA (unlikely she loses by less than 10) or even loses IN which is expected to be a very close state, then I think its time for the superdelegates to come behind Obama and force her out of the race.

The Hillary I've seen since Iowa is not the Hillary I admired before all of this. She and Bill have entirely turned me off towards the Clintons and I was probably one of their biggest fans.

Contrast Ed (Vote for Hill or you're a Koolaid drinker) Rendell with Bill Richardson. Even when Richardson was patiently dealing with the whole "Judas" thing, he was still a gentleman. I'm still waiting for the Clintons to step forward and apologize about the name calling. They really should have said the ragin cajun was out of line on that one. Maybe they're still thinking it over.:rolleyes1

I thought this op ed was quite good. It's certainly OK for her to stay in, but I do get somewhat annoyed when the race is portrayed as a dead heat.

The Top 10 Myths Keeping Hillary in the Race
"Here are ten enduring, kudzu-like myths about the state of the Democratic nomination race, with the debunking they sorely need."

http://www.alternet.org/election08/80870/?page=entire

This part was funny:

Myth: Whatever! Hillary can still win! I know she can! She and her 37% positive rating will sweep through the remaining primaries and Michigan and Florida, winning 70% of everything and superdelegates will flock to her banner and Barack Obama will personally nominate her at the Convention and John McCain will give up and George Bush will even quit early so she can take over and... and... and... can I have a glass of water?

Yes, and you should lie down, too.

Woo Hoo, Obama won another BIG state.:cool1:

"(03-31) 12:58 PDT WASHINGTON, (AP) --
Sen. Barack Obama has won the overall delegate race in Texas thanks to a
strong showing in Democratic county conventions this past weekend.
Obama picked up seven of nine outstanding delegates, giving him a total of
99 Texas delegates to the party's national convention this summer. Sen.
Hillary Rodham Clinton won the other two, giving her a total of 94 Texas
delegates, according to an analysis of returns by The Associated Press.
Texas Democrats held both a presidential primary and caucus."

So does that mean that Hillary didn't win Texas and as per her husband, cannot win the nomination?

Nope-because she won the Primary and that's all that counts.

Nope & don't forget, she includes Nevada in her win column when in fact she got 1 less delegate than Obama, so she still won Texas.... so it's still an important state

Clinton just loves that spin...I was just reading on Yahoo that she says Obama and our campaign is trying to "stop the votes" when they keep calling for her to quit. Obama said yesterday she should stay in. :confused3

Enough of the pandering.

The pandering is all she's got, so she's using it to her advantage & people believe it.... just like Rendell saying the race is even, NO IT'S NOT.... There's almost no way in hades she can overtake Obama on pledged delegates...

And about disenfrancising Michigan & Florida, their own states did that, not Obama & why on earth should we accept a privately funded election as being valid? I think there are communist countries that allow that sort of thing! I wouldn't trust it with a twenty foot pole! Florida will go red, Michigan will go blue, that's the way it is...

When she manipulates the truth in her speeches it looks like she has a very low opinion of her supporters. She should just talk to them, honestly, about the issues. I think they can handle the truth.

I wouldn't be so sure about Florida going red. This state is getting hit hard by economic conditions. It isn't all retirees with a boatload of money and pensions.

The beauty of all of this is that the Republicans in the Florida state legislature proposed cutting Medicaid funding for dentures and hearing aids for the poor.

When the pendulem swings so far into nut country, it starts to go the other way. I believe the Republicans, through their own blind allegiance to a failed idealogy, have screwed themselves.

That's why her negatives are going through the roof.

That's interesting you think Florida could actually go blue? All you ever hear about are those retirees and the military, all red country... good to hear the Republican's are biting the hand that feeds them down there.... I'll put that on my "maybe" blue state list!

Well, up in Central Florida where my parents live-it will NEVER go blue. GW could rape and murder someone on live television and those people would find a way to defend him. Dad thinks that most of the 24% that still are supporting GW live there.

I meant it more in the spirit that this is going to be an interesting election. So far, all the conventional wisdom has gone out the window.

But, take for example, my DH's American Legion post. They're pretty much split down the middle over the war and Bush. I think it can go either way.

This is going to be a "bread and butter" election and the only thing the war can do is hurt John McCain. If it's going well, people will concentrate on the "bread and butter" issues. If it's going badly, and it is starting to heat up again, the issue will skewer McCain. IMO, the war will not be an issue for the Democrats.

One last thing about Florida's retirees: Many of them are old enough to remember the Depression and the Republican who presided over it.

'Nuff said.

But it is down to "24%. Who would've thought that was going to happen just 4 years ago?

This is going to be an interesting election.

Maureen Dowd, NY Times
Democrats are trying to sneak up on Hillary, throw a burlap sack over her head, carry her off the field and stick her in a Saddam spider hole until after the Denver convention.
Sounds like a good plan to me.

Well, if anyone believes the Rasmussen poll here's what they say regarding PA:

However, Obama is gaining ground in the critical state of Pennsylvania where he has cut Hillary Clinton’s lead to five percentage points in the upcoming Primary.

They also proposed cutting post transplant drugs. When I first started on diaysis, the bills from the hemo clinic ran about $40,000 A WEEK! And I still pee, so I needed less dialysis than most people. Transplant drugs for kidneys run from about $3000 per month. $120,000+ per month vs $3000. :confused3
