Obama supporters! - A positive place to talk about his campaign

Okay so we have the Clintons questioning the fitness of Obama to be President while praising McCain's ability in the same breath, and now they are saying he should be VP with Hillary. Does she realize she contradicts herself?

The Field is predicting a 17 point Obama win in MS but due to the way the districts are aligned, only a one delegate win.

Jon Corzine is trying to make a name for himself with the Florida and Michigan "re-do" primary funding.

One good thing about Hillary winning is that she will likely offer him some kind of position in the Administration and we'll get him out of NJ

Definately our gain...he's pretty unpopular here these days. Many NJ folks feel that he stole the Governorship away from Richard Codey and bought it for himself.

"While 2,025 is the number we more commonly hear from the media, here's something you should know: when a candidate hits 1,627 they have officially won the majority of pledged (ie democratically earned) delegates.

And Barack Obama is projected to hit that number on May 20th.

The math is simple. There are 4,048 delegates total. 796 of those are superdelegates. 3,252 are pledged based on the actual results of primaries and caucuses. 51% of 3,252 is 1,627.

Once Barack Obama passes 1,627 America has made its decision. He will have won the majority of earned delegates.

I refuse to believe the Democratic Party will blatantly override the will of the people once their decision is clear."

299 short at the moment, the Texas Caucus results will lesson that number by some number, as well as the Mississippi primary, where we will hopefully win... I'm curious why Obama was not out there yesterday... MSNBC has him 254 short, so I'm not sure why the discrepancy....

Definately our gain...he's pretty unpopular here these days. Many NJ folks feel that he stole the Governorship away from Richard Codey and bought it for himself.

I really had high hopes for him when I voted for him. I thought he'd really clean up NJ fiscally since was for the former CEO of Goldman Sachs. Sadly, he was bought out by the special interests, unions, lobbyists.

I was angry because I really like Richard Codey. He's a regular guy that knows how regular people live. I felt that Corzine bought his way in as a stepping stone to a Cabinet post.

Clinton's latest argument against Obama is that he's too liberal:

"Independent and Republican support is diminishing as they find out he’s the most liberal Democratic senator... As they get more of a sense that he’s not ready to be Commander-in-Chief, a lot of Independents who were supporting him are disappearing."

Mark Penn and the HRC campaign can never find a message, even when it comes to attacks.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Clinton campaign very recently arguing that Obama wasn't a real Democrat because independents and Republicans were voting for him?

Yeah, Kos beat me to my reply. They had exactly ONE vote between them that was different for the purposes of that "most liberal" designation. Know what it was? Obama wanted an outside, independent commission set up to be an ethical watchdog over Congress. It was his idea...and yes, Hillary voted against it.

So...two questions about that: 1) How is pushing ethical reform a "liberal" issue in the first place, and 2) Is anyone surprised that Hillary voted against it?

Clinton camp says Obama must pass 'national security threshold' to be veep

"Senior advisers to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) on Monday sought to reconcile the campaign’s assertion that rival Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) has not passed the “commander-in-chief test” with the Clintons’ hints in recent days that the New York senator would tap Obama as a running mate.

Howard Wolfson, Clinton's chief spokesman, said during a conference call with reporters that Clinton would not pick a running mate who has not met the “national security threshold” — as Clinton’s military advisers and Wolfson put it on the call — but that it is possible Obama could meet that threshold by this summer's Democratic convention.

Wolfson repeated Clinton's weekend assertion that picking Obama is “not something she would rule out at this point,” but he also repeated that Obama is not ready to be commander in chief, a key requirement to being Clinton’s running mate.

When asked if Obama could do something to cross that “threshold,” Wolfson said, “It’s not something that I’m prepared to rule out at this time.”

May I ask a question? I don't mean any disrespect to anyone but people around me have told me that Obama won't salute the flag or put his hand over his heart during the pledge. Can someone tell me why?
