Fantasmic Thread!

Ok, so I booked my RDZ for Sept. 14 but now there is no show scheduled for Sunday...i booked another for Saturday just to make sure I had one. But i never received ANY CANCELLATION NOTICE forSunday...is that normal? Looks like its only Friday/Sat. I was planning on spending Sat. Night at DCA since Sunday is an OBB day but it doesn't really matter to me...just thought it was odd...

And sorry if I missed discussion of this previously...I went on vacay and saw Herman's Hermits :rotfl2:

I’ve got a booking for the 14th and yet to have a cancellation

I’ve emailed them but no response (I’d ring but I’m in the U.K.) hoping they’ll respond soon…

Fantasmic tonight had zero pyro and no Maleficent riser scene. It was really lackluster, such a disappointment after getting a dining package.
Which showing did you go to? Was at 10:30 pm; very noticeable lack of pyro. No Mickey sparklers, no cannons on Peter Pan, no spinners on Mark Twain or TSI. The part with Maleficient does not make much sense without pyro and the finale is quite lacking without pyro. First time I’ve seen it with zero pyro; noticed they included some water effects to try and compensate (though not coming anywhere close). Agree with lackluster. Anyone know if these are technical issues or budget cuts?

First show. Absolutely zero pyro. It was so incredibly disappointing, especially since I haven’t seen the show in a long time and it’s generally my very favorite.

They’ve been doing the show without pyro a lot lately. I’m not sure what the reason is - technical issues or cost cutting. The original ‘90s F didn’t have much pyro, and when they cut pyro from the modern version,’it use to follow the ‘90s version. In other words, you’d see sparklers come from Mickey in the opening scene. But not anymore. Kinda looks stupid putting his hands up and bunting happening.

They fixed the platform, but sometimes it doesn’t rose. I’m surprised given they entirely rebuild the stage following the fire a couple years ago. They’ve been having problems with the Columbia lately which means only 1/2 the characters show up for the finale since the Columba ones don’t make it in time for a costume change.

They also regularly have problems with one of the barges… all the characters make it to the finale so it’s issues with the equipments. The current barges are from the late 2000s, so not that old.

Thank you for sharing this. The number of characters on the Mark Twain did look light tonight but I wasn’t sure if it was just that I was missing the pinwheel pyro.

It’s such a shame because Fantasmic is so special and spectacular it usually has been in tears by the finale but tonight it was just 🫠
