Obama supporters! - A positive place to talk about his campaign

I'm very concerned about what's going to happen in November. I've read numerous articles stating that polling data shows Obama supporters would vote for Hillary in a general election but not vice versa.

As much as I want Obama to win the nomination - I want a Democrat in the White House even more. I'm scared to death that this hard-fought nomination is going to cost us the election.

Right now , I don't think I could support Hillary!

Past history aside...I just can't stand the changing faces of hillary in this campaign.... first she's teary..then she alone can handle a 3 am call...
which is she??? Oh thats right..she is whatever will get her into the office..
:sad2: :sad2: and:sick: of the clinton machine!!

Not to mention how disgusted I was when the first state she listed in her speech as having won is Florida

My concern is that if too many people make that choice, we will all be watching President McCain take the Oath. Believe me, the Republicans may not like McCain, but you can bet they will ALL show up to vote against Hillary.

Not if the democratic party does the right thing and gives the nomination to the person who wins the popular vote!! ( and that does not mean giving hillary her "win's" in the 2 state that the candidates agreed to not camapign in!)
If there is any appearance of a shady backroom deal...i don't know if I will ever be able to vote democrat again....

Go Barack!!:thumbsup2

Anyone else puzzled by the fact that the Clinton campaign keeps touting the fact that only Hill can win swing states? How do they explain Obama wins in Virginia, Missouri, Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin? Not to mention that Obama continues to cream McCain in swing state polling. That line of debate is really starting to wear a bit thin...

Obama still has a greater popular vote even counting Florida... don't forget one of her other big state wins, Michigan..... don't forget Nevada, she won the popular vote slightly, but Obama got more delegate's, who really won that state?

The funny thing is, it's being put forth by people who don't understand the issues in those states. Take Ohio as a perfect example. Hillary won Ohio based on the lie about Obama's campaign telling Canada not to worry about their talk about NAFTA, that they weren't really planning on changing anything (turns out that Hillary's campaign had actually done that...oops :lmao: ). The point is, in the fall, Obama will be going against one of the staunch defenders of NAFTA. You don't think that would give him a HUGE advantage over McCain, right from the start?

It's silly. The more I see that stuff, the more depressed I am about the state of my party.

There is no explaination....they are just going to keep throwing things out there , hoping that they stick. Even if they don't make sense or are not true....

Like hillary saying to barack "Enough of the speeches and big rallys" WHILE she is SPEAKING at a big rally:confused3 :confused3

Yeah...but it wasn't as big as his.

Maybe she has rally envy?

:thumbsup2 This is from her website and it irritates the daylights out of me:"We Won in Michigan!

Thank you for all your dedication and hard work. On January 15, Michigan voters spoke loud and clear for Hillary, and she is committed to making sure that their voices are heard at our convention. " http://www.hillaryclinton.com/hq/Michigan/

You barely won against NO ONE! NO ONE else was on the ballot but uncommitted. Ugghhhhhhhh, she is like nails on a chalkboard to me. If it is her vs McCain, I will go with Mc Cain.

I can accept that politics , by its nature contains spin...but this is really going beyond what should be acceptable!!!

So, whoever is in the General is going to have an issue with some segment of the population that voted for the other candidate.

That is a fact.

At the caucus on Tuesday night, one guy was telling us that if Hillary gets the nomination many that are passionate about Obama will not turn up at the polls.

I also saw a Hispanic rep. on one of the major channels Tuesday night who did a survey and found that 5 in 6 young Hispanics (18 - 30 yrs. old) will not bother to vote in November if Obama in not the nominee. Remember that young Hispanics have broken away from their elders to vote for Obama.

Note to the Hillary folks reading here...

We are not afraid of having the Florida, Michigan situation revisited....

we only think Hillary is out of line in claiming victory in these "primarys" that were not sanctioned by the Democratic Party!!!!

However, there are those of us who will not vote for a woman who resorts to kitchen sink tactics, who we believe does what she does only for her own personal gain, everyone else be d*mned, but if she helps people along her path, then that's just secondary to the goal at hand... She's manipulative, she's been condescending to those of us who have voted for Obama, and she has alluded to mistruth's that she clearly knows are mistruth's.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - An aide to Hillary Clinton (Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson ) likened Democratic presidential rival Barack Obama to independent prosecutor Ken Starr on Thursday.
Never, ever, ever underestimate how low she will go to be elected.

I double this sentiment.

bimshire, your experience with people saying this is not unique at all. I suppose the question is, of the two camps who has a larger base in states that will yield more electoral college votes in the fall, and who has the ability to draw more of a greater percentage of their Democratic opponents voter's over to vote for who will be the Democratic nominee. I think that answer is Barack Obama, but who am I to make such a bold statement. I think that's for someone more experienced to determine, perhaps those Supers who are 19 years of age, or those Super's who have yet to be chosen, perhaps they have a better pulse on the country.

On an aside, how many States has Clinton actually won with greater than a 10% lead? How many for Obama?

I don't underestimate it at all. I expect she will do anything and everything to be the nominee, it doesn't matter who she steps on, who she insults, who she has to steamroll, I expect her to do it, it's the Clinton machinery at work....

Although perhaps the Clinton campaign shouldn't be throwing the name of Ken Starr around... Could bring up a lot of unanswered questions regarding the death of Vince Foster, the Whitewater land deal, Bill's impeachment, all sorts of really wonderful stories from the past that involved Ken Starr....

Agreed.

I'd love to have one of the Clinton campaign lurkers non-confrontationally explain the Clinton line of reason that says that she can only win swing states when Obama has won Virginia, Missouri, Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, six states that are seen as swing states and up for grabs in the next election. I really would. It almost seems as if the Clinton campaign's saying that the only swing states that she feels are noteworthy are the one's that she has won, or that include Florida and Michigan.

Not sure about all the states, but Minnesota and Wisconsin are 100% not a swing state. For as long as I can remember Minnesota always goes blue for the general election and I believe Wisconsin does too.
Minnesota and Wiconson are hard core blue states, not swing states. They will most likely go in the blue column no matter if Clinton or Obama is on the ballot.

I'd sort of also like to ask said person why it is Clinton has been saying since Ohio that no Nominee has ever won the Presidency without winning Ohio in the Primary.... However the Washington Post pointed out today that Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, and Richard Nixon all won without winning Ohio. So why does she keep saying it?
