Precinct 359 Caucus results:

Obama 21 delegates
Clinton 8 delegates

I hope the caucus results start coming in!

And was Clinton impersonating Dean when she was listing the states she won and the states upcoming? All we needed was the YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAA!

And FL and MI? Give me a break! Where is that puking smiley?

Didn't you know? Florida and Michigan are back in play because an unnamed source said so, how could you miss that notation??

Yup, exclude them only to go back and include them later, it's the old political way.... it's rather democratic I'd say (sarcasm here)....

Its nice to know that this little drama will continue to play out for another 8 weeks. There will be time for the press to ask about Rezko, Bill Ayer, NAFTA, a lot of little distractions to keep Barrack a bit off message.

Nice to have you here on the Obama supporters thread, Dawn! I knew you hated McCain, but to think that you're onboard with the Obama movement now...I mean...wow!! ;)

I know, I'm shocked as well!

So it looks like we are going to come out of TX with more delegates than Clinton..so she really did nothing to put a dent in our delegate lead.

God love 'em, but it seems like the crowd over on the Hillary supporters thread who just a few weeks ago were complaining about the superdelegates and how they shouldn't go against the voters now all have a new found respect for allowing the supers to vote as they choose...what a difference a month makes!!

Politics = Strange Bed fellows? :confused3

Let them gaze at the "drama", only a matter of time before one of them gets a chance to sink their teeth into McCain!

The primary TX delegate results are 64 - Obama 62 - Clinton (not including caucus).

If we can continue to close in OH, Hillary won't have done much of anything to cut into our delegate lead - as Mark Penn said after February 5th, it's not about momentum, but about delegates.

Barack will likely end up with more TX delegates. Which isn't really a "win" for Hillary. She has to win ALL of the remaining states big time (neither of which is likely) to gain the lead in pledged delegates. Considering what the polls were saying a month ago, Obama has done well in Ohio and Texas.

I'm so sorry your man Huckabee bowed out yesterday. He was such a fun punching bag. :sad1:

What would be democratic would be if each state was winner take all. Then you wouldn't have Obama winning a larger amount of delegates because he wins huge delegate numbers in the inner city (by the way, you want to speak racism here). Hillary would win by a mile if it was winner take all. Who thought up such an unfair system anyway. Go ahead and hope Obama wins. That will for sure lead to a republican victory in November.:goodvibes

Hillary is in it for another 8 weeks. Another 8 weeks of disarray. Huckabee might be a nice person, but he was never "my man".

I think we were all (Obama and Clinton supporters) complaining about super delegates!

Unfortunately - the supers are going to have to decide this contest. Neither candidate is going to have the required delegate count to win the nomination without their support. So of course, there's going to be a fight for them - and one side will not like the outcome.......

But - yes - you did hear me complain about the TX system! Why people have to vote TWICE is beyond me. :confused3 Does seem unfair that Clinton will have won the popular vote - but not be ahead in the delegate count there - such is the way of Texas......... There - though - the supers could rectify the problem - and vote for the person who won the popular vote....... ;) I wink because if it were the other way around - and it was Hillary with the more delegates - I'd probably feel differently.......

Oh - and thanks for showing us the LOVE........ Sometimes we feel like outcasts on the Liberal thread ..........

going back to the Hillary thread.........
:drive:

If only the winner took all back in 2000! :confused3

Sorry, but there's no way Hillary can catch up after her string of losses. And she hasn't really "won" Texas, I'm afraid. You can argue about what's democratic and what's not, but I like the proportional system. At least this way I get to send a delegate for the person I voted for--I don't think that's unfair.

ETA: I forgot to say I don't like the idea of Texans voting then caucusing. It's like they're voting twice. Gives me the willies.

Disarray? More like we can't decide between two awesome contenders. And it puts so much more focus on the interesting Democratic race. Unlike the big snoozefest that was the Republican nomination process. Too bad nobody was paying attention to it! :rotfl: And we get such a great photo op today with McCain getting the baton passed to him by such a beloved President Bush. :lmao:

And I'm sorry you have to vote for McCain. We know how much you conservative voters "love" him. ;) At least we actually are passionate about our candidates. :)

I just think the way the system is set up is totally ridiculous. Have all the states vote on the same day, no caucuses, no delegates, no super delegates, whoever wins wins.

Hey Tim, We Republicans "saw our shadow". Looks like there is seven more weeks of democrats slugging it out! :rotfl2:

I would like that better. Some voters are bummed because the time it gets to their primary, their favorite candidates have already dropped out.

Does seem unfair that Clinton will have won the popular vote -

Yeah well she can make a lunch date with Al Gore and he can talk her through the grief.

I see that in Hillary's speech she referenced Florida and Michigan - the states she won handily since Obama's name wasn't even on the ballot.

I've said before that whomever gets the Dem nomination, I'll support them but I swear: if HC tries to get the Florida and Michigan results included I will lose all respect for her.

I don't really care if Hillary wins per se, as I'm not voting for her. I'm Republican. I just think she will be much harder to beat than Obama come November. He doesn't have a leg to stand on. So what, he has the younger vote. They don't work or pay taxes for the most part. Yea, I want them deciding who runs the country. Obama will never win some of the states he's won when it comes to the national election, so therefore, it is in the Republican party's best interest that he win the Democratic candidacy for President. I'm just saying the Democratic party's way of electing is NOT democratic, it's underhanded AND old politics, everything Obama proposes that he's not.
