Obama supporters! - A positive place to talk about his campaign

Wouldn't matter if they asked. She won't answer. Her MO has become to divert and start talking about something she doesn't like about Obama.

Look at Rasmussen today though...

North Carolina: 23 point spread!!!!
Obama 56%
Clinton 33%

US:
Obama 51%
Clinton 41%

Good numbers for both NC & US overall, the lead in PA has tightened to 5% points but I think the NBC poll may show 9% or greater in PA...

This looks promising. :thumbsup2 And Colon is the former governor, not the newly indicted one.

Puerto Ricans are 'Obama people,' says ex-governor
Rafael Hernandez Colon discusses politics at The Warehouse in Syracuse. Friday, April 04, 2008

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has enjoyed the support of Hispanics in Democratic presidential primaries earlier this year, but she may lack that support in Puerto Rico's primary June 1, the island's former governor said Thursday in Syracuse.

Rafael Hernandez Colon, who addressed a largely Hispanic gathering of 80 people at The Warehouse, said before his speech that Clinton could lose the primary because she endorsed a bill that supports statehood. Ninety percent of Puerto Ricans want a permanent union with the United States, not statehood, he said.

"We are Obama people," he said.

The crowd cheered when he asked how many supported Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.

Hernandez Colon, who has written extensively about the island's relationship to the United States, served as governor from 1973 to 1977 and 1985 to 1993.

Hernandez Colon said the United States didn't have a policy on the island's political destiny when it invaded July 25, 1898, and still doesn't have one.

Puerto Rico is a semiautonomous territory. Though Puerto Rico and the United States have different cultural identities and economic policies, Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens and receive many federal benefits.

The lack of a political policy has hurt the island economically, forcing many Puerto Ricans to migrate to the mainland, Hernandez Colon said. Statehood, he said, would impede economic development.

"One thing that was clear to Congress from the beginning: Puerto Rico was not destined for statehood," he said. "American nationalism and cultural identity regarded us as an alien culture. Therefore, Puerto Rico was not named an incorporated territory. Incorporated territories are those destined for statehood. From that vantage point of U.S. nationalism and cultural identity, we would belong to, but not be part of, the United States."

The event was sponsored by Syracuse University's Latino-Latin American Studies Program, University College and the Office of Multicultural Affairs in collaboration with the Spanish Action League.

Just saw this on DU and had to share. :teeth: Thinking of putting it in my signature. :lmao:

Also, someone found a recording (unfortunately, it was posted by Matt Drudge) of Hillary's comments about the Michigan primary:

Oh yeah...those were her comments before she started losing. ;)

Barack Obama will tour Indiana on a three day trip starting Wednesday, April 9. His campaign has not yet said where he will be stopping.

In a release on Saturday, Obama's campaign announced the "Road to Change" trip will visit communities "large and small." The campaign expects to release the stops in the coming days.

South Bend Police spokesman Capt. Phil Trent says the department has not yet heard anything from the Obama campaign about a possible stop in South Bend. The Illinois senator and his campaign officials had indicated in the past that he planned to stop in the area at some point before the May primary.

Senator Obama was in Fort Wayne, IN on Friday for a town hall meeting at Wayne High School. He had also held a town hall meeting in Central Indiana at Plainfield High School on March 15.

His Democratic opponent, Senator Hillary Clinton has visited Indiana several times. On March 20, Clinton visited Terre Haute, Anderson, and Evansville. And of course, she made a March 28 stop in Mishawaka, before heading to Hammond, Fort Wayne, and Muncie. That trip wrapped up with stops in Indianapolis and New Albany in Southern Indiana. Former President Bill Clinton has also made several stops in Indiana, most notably his Dyngus Day stops in South Bend, Rochester, Logansport, and Lafayette. Their daughter Chelsea has also toured Hoosier colleges.

These visits are all leading up Indiana's May 6 presidential primary election.

Clinton Asks Obama's Pledged Delegates to Switch
April 5, 2008
Sen. Hillary Clinton made a blunt appeal to North Dakota delegates to switch their support to her, despite the fact that Sen. Barack Obama handily defeated her in the state's caucus in February.

In an indication of how tense the battle has become for each Democratic delegate, Obama abandoned the campaign trail in Pennsylvania and scooted to North Dakota for the state party's annual dinner last night, despite the fact that he's already won 14 of the state's 21 delegates as well as six of the state's seven superdelegates.

The two candidates also will battle for votes tonight in Butte, Mont., when Democrats there hold their annual dinner. The Montana primary, which offers only a handful of delegates, is scheduled for June.

Clinton made it clear to North Dakota Democrats last night that she believes there is no such thing as a pledged delegate and highlighted that stubborn streak in her appeal for delegates to switch from Obama to her when the Democratic national party holds its nominating convention this August.

Yes, we have a candidate we love with a message hope and the plans to change this country, but we'll switch you, the sniper liar, who chooses talk up McCain over her own party, who can't manage her campaign or it's finances, who has whined endlessly through the whole primary and implied we Obama supporters are starry eyed groupies. Get bent lady.

Long post and long vent!

You guys have written a lot tonight, but this is what I will respond to :thumbsup2

Indiana looks like it could be very competitive, but I still have lots of hope :goodvibes and I know everywhere Obama spends time on the ground he is well received and closes gaps... I'm hoping he can do the same in Indiana.

I still think he needs to do yet another bus tour of PA however.

If he could spend another week in PA, 3 or 4 days in SC & then close to a week in Indiana, I think he'd do well....

I am VERY glad to see the endorsement from the former Governor of Puerto Rico, and as far as I am concerned, every one of their votes count.

The fact that Clinton went to ND to try and overturn the pledged delegates is disgusting... As Honu said earlier, we want every vote to count, except those that have already voted for Obama, we want those Pledged Delegates to switch. As far as I am concerned, she said early on (as was duly noted with tape) that she endorsed what the DNC did (in regards to Fl & MI) & only now is she single handedly disenfranchising voters by telling them they are being disenfranchised. They all seemed quite fine with it up until Clinton's operation Chaos went into action. It is their own State legislatures that should be blamed, not Obama for not agreeing to a privately funded election by Clinton bigwigs, I'm sorry, doesn't work that way, at least not in this country.

I still want to know WHY my government should endorse a free trade agreement with Columbia when the link I posted earlier, describes in so much detail what it is like being a worker down there. Her campaign strategist was working both sides of the fence and she knew it.... Just like Nafta, she had no part of it until White house papers proved she had a MAJOR roll in it. I'm sick of the lying, sick of the petty back and forth... just plain sick of it.... tell me what you are going to do for this country and be truthful about it. How on earth would you know what it is like to be an actual regular person? Someone whose family is fighting in this war, someone who is trying to sell their house at a 33% loss, someone who has to think about their kids education and NOT have the money or prestige to send them to an Ivy league. You think all these presidential kids get in because of their grades? Not likely..... In fact guaranteed.

Now I'll just stop, but I am truly sick of it. Oh, but one more thing? Obama is spending 4 times what she is in some markets? Is it any wonder? The Clinton machine has been in action for more than 20 years, how someone like Barack Obama could come in and do what he has done, and the accomplishments he has made thus far is breathtaking. Has he spent more? Yes, but she had a 20 year head start.

Whether we win or whether we lose, we will know there is a better country, a better USA, a better future for us out there, as a NATION... I think that will carry me through the trials and tribulations that have been the last 7 years and could be potentially 4 more, because there is a brighter future out there, I just hope it is now.

That absolutely disgusts me! So much for all that bull she was spouting about caring about the voice of the people. :headache:

Is this an actual real snapshot of what was put up and quoted from her?

Yes. That's her actual quote, with the source below it. Basically, she was on George Snuffaluffagus's show on ABC, and she finished with that line. Here's a Baltimore Chronicle story about it, including the quote: http://baltimorechronicle.com/2008/010308Burns.shtml

Stolen whole-cloth from a poster on DU, but too funny not to share :lmao:

To: Hillary Clinton Campaign Headquarters
From: Acme Goalpost Movers Inc.
Attn: Accounts Payable Department

Dear Sir/Madam:

As you undoubtedly are aware, we are still awaiting payment in full on the last nine invoices we have submitted:

(1) Moving of goalposts from Super Tuesday Blowout to Brokered Convention resolution

(2) Moving of goalposts in Michigan and Florida. (Contract add-on – not part of original contract; work done on expedited basis)

(3) Moving of goalposts from delegate votes to popular votes

(4) Moving of goalposts from popular votes to electoral college votes (Contract add-on: includes costs incurred in supplying virtual goalposts in order to capture votes not actually in play)

(5) Moving of goalposts from pledged delegates voting as-per-constituents to voting as-per-desire-of-losing-candidate

(6) Moving of (hypothetical) goalposts to reflect (hypothetical) GOP-style winner-take-all primary scenario

(7) Moving of goalposts from truthful-statements-paramount-in-campaign-speeches strategy to mis-speaking about Bosnia sniper-fire due-to-lack-of-sleep excuse-making strategy (Contract add-on: Necessity to move goalposts ahead of publicity ****-storm)

(8) Moving of goalposts from clean, civil, high-road campaign to kitchen-sink campaign (Contract add-on: cleaning up garbage after same)

(9) Moving of goalposts from super-delegates voting-their-conscience scenario to stab-me-in-the-back-Judas scenario

In view of the above work having already been carried out on behalf of your campaign, our company is now out-of-pocket and would appreciate being paid-in-full forthwith.

We are a small company, and do not have the financial wherewithal to continue our efforts at the present rate without payment. Your to-date history with our business indicates that more goalpost moving will be required in the immediate future. However, we will no longer be in a position to continue our efforts on your behalf without a prompt settlement of outstanding invoices.

Please be advised that we rely on long-term contracts such as yours to stay in business. Other than your campaign, our only other large contract has been with the present Administration, which has required the changing of goalposts (re: Victory in Iraq) on an almost daily basis - an arrangement which is now apparently coming to an end.

We have attempted to contact you on numerous occasions via email, registered mail, fax, and phone messages concerning your failure to compensate us for our services for several months.

As a final and truly desperate measure, our collections department will now be attempting to phone you at 3:00 a.m. We sincerely hope you will answer the phone.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation in this regard,
Acme Goalpost Movers Inc.

Good news :thumbsup2

Picked up 2 super add ons yesterday, and there's still 1 unpledged

http://www.demconwatch.blogspot.com/

Missouri picked its 2 add-on superdelegates today:

The state committee of the Missouri Democratic Party picked its final two supers today, and those slots went to four-term Attorney General and likely gubernatorial nominee Jay Nixon and state auditor Susan Montee.

The superdelegates are unpledged, meaning they are free to pick either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton. Montee has endorsed Obama, but Nixon has not indicated a preference.

In the clip below, Rob Carver of Delaware says "I would say my role is that of a volunteer" in the Obama campaign. Well he may still be a volunteer, but Carver is now the new add-on superdelegate from Delaware, and he has been added to our Obama list.

WOW! Of all places to find a rational voice about Rev. Wright, comes this video from FAUX NEWS!

http://www.foxnews.com/video2/video...0cf-5c80-4d75-996f-bd53b2461ae0&sMPlaylistID=

They tried to hit this minister from the same church as Rev. Wright with everything from Louis Farrakhan to the things they have taken out of context from Wright's sermons, and he flat out embarrasses the idiotic reporter.

Feel free to share this video with anyone that still has qualms about Obama's relationship with Rev. Wright.

I met Father Pfleger once. I visited his church. He was something to see. I'd never heard a Father speak like him before. I enjoyed his sermon alot.

I was just reading the McCain thread and I just kept shaking my head. They all want to vote for him because the Dems will raise their taxes, they all must be in the top 2% because they are the ones who benefited from Bush's tax cuts. Do they just want the National Debt to grow larger? The war in Iraq to be never ending? More jobs sent overseas? I think they are all delusional.

They are so scared of Obama being elected. I hope when he is they will have the same feeling I have had for 7 years of Bush. The big difference is that the country will be so much better after Obama has cleaned up the mess Bush had made of it.
