I read that venders won't rent to dh because he does not own a Ecv is that true the trip we'll be next to impossible with out one he can walk just fine he just can't stand and walk the length of AK

Not true. Vendors will not rent power chairs to customers who do not use them regularly because they are trickier and more sensitive than an ECV. Sue can explain it better. They will, and do, rent ECVs to customers 18 and older.

Here's a picture of an ECV. Disneyvand offsite vendors will rent them to anyone 18 or over (with appropriate payment and deposit).

Here is a picture of a power chair. Disney doesn't rent them at all and outside vendors usually require that you use one at home. They're considerably harder to drive.
