after Wed announcement of them laying off 1,000 jobs I dont feel oober secure right now.

I hear they are starting with the people that chat on the dis while at work. ;)

Aisling, here is all I can contribute to the hair conversation

Once upon a time, a blonde became so sick of hearing blonde jokes that she had her hair cut and dyed brown. A few days later, as she was driving around the countryside, she stopped her car to let a flock of sheep pass. Admiring the cute woolly creatures, she said to the shepherd, “If I can guess how many sheep you have, can I take one?” The shepherd, always the gentleman replied, “Of course.” The blonde thought for a moment and for no discernible reason said, “352.” This being the correct number, the shepherd was, understandably, totally amazed and exclaimed, “You’re right! O.K., I’ll keep to my end of the deal. Take your pick of my flock.” The blonde carefully considered the entire flock and finally picked one that was by far cuter and more playful than any of the others. When she was done, the shepherd turned to her and said, “O.K., now I have a proposition for you. If I can guess your true hair color, can I have my dog back?

Poor Border Collie :sad2:

OMG.. that was hilarious!!!

Ummm.. artie, I am sure there are far more serious offenders than little ol' me checking out my friends on the DIS boards!!

Have a nice weekend everyone!! I will catch up on Monday!!!

Just wanted to share: my baby nephew Joshua just got his Passport...he's my Air Force brother's son, who's moving to England in Feb.

I miss him so much!

me tired

just back from senior pictures - the photographer and Kara were 'clicking' - I spent the whole moving things in and out - swim stuff - band stuff and rabbit - yes - even eeyore got her picture taken

cross your toes the football team doesn't win tonight - if they do - playoffs - and I am ready for football season (and marching band) to be over

cute pic

Whatever job I get I am not going to consider it my forever job~

I still plan on going back to school - now that I've done the research on what it can do for me and the fact that the state will pay my tuition, I fully intend to take communications classes over the next year. The specific classes I am looking at are journalistic writing and tv/radio production. My perfect scenario would be the State as my real job and use my communications training to write for the media, continue my photography and running my own Travel Agency on the side.

Marla, how can we hope for Kara's team to lose! Ok, I'll take pity on you, and cross my toes.:rotfl:

Nan, you mean Wilson has been traveling all this time with his baby pic passport? Luckily he isn't old enough to be mortified by that!

::yes:: We took him on the first cruise and to Europe with the baby passort. He had to get a new one for Panama Repo last May.

Molly and I went to see City of Ember tonight. It was good.

Tomorrow is Wil's race in Marina (a small town north of Monterey) the course is actually at an airport. I haven't been before so I'm looking forward to it. The 1st place girl isn't coming (her dad is sick) Paul said the 3 boys in practice today were all really close again, like in Reno. Should be a fun race. Wilson was proud to tell me that his kart went up on 2 wheels today, like the kid in the video I posted a few days back. It really is a good thing to have him experience stuff like this and find out he is okay, as he is fearing getting hurt on the track and therefore not applying himself. The race last weekend at his club track might have cost him his 2nd place in the season. He just wasn't on his game and placed 5th, when he normally places in the top 3 at club level, usually 2nd. He was really upset when we told him that the points are so close, but nothing can be done about it now, except to win the last club race. He knows the pressure is on, hopefully he will rise to the occasion.:rolleyes1

Lotsa Luck to WIlson today!!!

John and I are off to the Renaissance Faire with sis and her hubby today. (PARENFAIRE.com)

Brittany is camping (not really, they have a cabin) for the weekend.

Adrian and his current squeeze worked late last night (she's a bartender and he is her barback) - they said they were too tired to go with us early, I'm hoping they show up while we're there.

Happy Saturday Magic Mateys~

Morning All!! i am SOOOOOO excited today...St Francis WON their football AGAIN last night....this is a HUGE deal for this 4th year FB team!!!! and they beat a team (again) that no one thought they could....another big league team and NOT once did Soquel ever even get in front of us....:woohoo: :woohoo: last year's record - 1st year of 'league play' was 0-10....so far now, we're 5-1:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: such a great 'last' season for Ryan & his senior buddies!!! Ryan was even in the television footage last night on the Central Coast HS Playbook:banana:

Nan - it rained over here last night - did it rain there??? Sure hope that doesn't affect today's race in Marina - GOOD LUCK Wilson....can't wait to meet you & Molly too!!! (and Paul)!! btw - Congrats Paul on the Sony job!:thumbsup2

Colleen - LOTS & LOTS of luck on that govt job!!!

hope you all have a really awesome day - i have a big baby shower (for my coworker) so Chel will be there too & maybe Rus is going to Marina to hook with Nan's family & watch Wilson race!!!???

morning - well good afternoon

football team lost last night but believe it or not due to other teams losses they are still heading to playsoff (I think - can't make heads or tails out of how the rankings work)

Guess we will have to wait until next weekend to know for sure

Not to upset anyone - do we have a final count for FE's as of yet?

 Wow Brenda, I can see you're THRILLED by the big win!!!!!!!:cheer2: CONGRATULATIONS to Ryan's team!!!

And Marla, CONGRATULATIONS on the loss, but playoffs, I think!:confused3 :rotfl:
