Did you like that Aisling?

OK, I'm off to the cornhusker state. To skate Nationals in Lincoln, Ne. Eliminations are thurs & finals are Fri. If I make finals I will leave for WDW on Sat.. If not I will be on my way Fri. Either way 3 days in WDW for sure.

Thanks, Jill! That pic is locked in my other broken laptop.

Hey, GOOD LUCK and have FUN at your competition, and WDW!

Robin, a lot of people like to book Palo dinner on semi-formal night, which is usually on the Thursday of the cruise. That way, they don't miss the Animator's Palette show or the Pirate Night restaurant festivities, and any clothes that would have been used for semi-formal would be appropriate for Palo.

I guess that is were I am confused. I have read that the dinner rotation has changed, and the second and third night are in the same restaurant? I also know from the past NYE that we did that they will move formal night to NYE, so when will semi-formal night be? We are seriously thinking about the REAS package, sounds neat and could use some romance after 17 1/2 years:love: If we do that, we will probably only do dinner at Palo, as we have done brunch twice before, and I think the champagne brunch in the room could replace that. I also think it will be worth it to book everything at 105 days, being the ship is so full. So many decisions, but so excited that we are finally getting close!!

Hmmm, that's a good point. I wonder if we have to wait until the Magic gets back from the west coast to find out about the rotations, if they'll be keeping the second and third night thing. Maybe Marla would know...she has a professional "in" with Disney travel stuff.

Marla, are you out there?

I totally think that if they are going to open up the ressie's 105 days, 90 days and 75 days out, that they should let you know ALL the info before you can book Palo.. So that way people can customize their trip the way they want.

I dont want to miss the Pirate night dinner. Perhaps they will just switch that for NYE. For Halloween, they moved the Pirate night to be a different night. I cant remember how they flopped them and it was a 4 night cruise.

On a different note. Just booked the air for March. The trip is costing us a total of $414. that is the air, hotel (dvc) and park tickets (annual).. Its also a 4night, 5 day trip!!! more time for more rides.

Brian wants to dine w/an imagineer. I think I will book the lunch. I like the Brown Derby!! He had said on the trip last week.. I wish it were possible to talk w/a disney imagineer.. ask them questions and such.. I started laughing.. I was like, are you serious???? Then I told him not only was it possible, but it happens often!!! Anyone on here ever do that lunch? or even the dinner?

Soooo.. I go get weighed in today at 530 at the WW. I will let you all know tomorrow if I lost anymore weight. I hope so. I am on a mission. To look like I did on the last cruise in 2006 or BETTER!!!

Hey Artman....i AM as tall as Minnie!!!

Are you wearing heels? ;)

We did a dinner with an imagineer

turns out we were the only ones booked for that night - and due to some water damage in the room that is was to be held in (due to Hurricane Charley) - we were just in the dining room at Brown Derby - for the life of me I can't remember his name thou

Wow, it's great that it was only you and Kara with the Imagineer, Marla! I give Disney a :thumbsup2 for offering something like this. Kelly, I say go for it!

I dunno...I too am a Disneyholic, but with all the photog jobs and searching for a real job, I have been lacking in my trip planning :( I need to look at the itinerary with the dining rotation. Our last trip's Palo dinner was on the semi formal night of the cruise. I think it was our second night at Lumiere's that we skipped.

I haven't done the brunch and am pretty sure Mom hasn't either. I'm all ears for suggestions on this one.

:lmao: Brenda, I knew you and Aisling were shor...ahem, vertically challenged...but the same height as Minnie! That is too cute~ at 5'7 I've been called tall and short. Depends on who is next to me ;) John is 6', my BIL is 6'4, my sister is 5'2 and daughter 5'3.
that is true - it is ALL very relative~
i have really enjoyed the brunch....it's very cool & to start the day off with some mimosas.....

Are you wearing heels? ;)
no taller than hers!!!!

Kelly...i can't even wait for Dec...so i'm working on ressies for DL Oct 3rd..5th; it will be DS & his DGF Julia, myself & someone else...maybe DH (against his will) or good friend Dianne....but i have to go again so we can renew our AP's....can't think of letting them expire:scared1:

I'd love to be able to book another WDW trip, buy my air force brother is moving to England soon, and I need to use that extra money to visit him. He'll be there for a 4-year tour, so my baby nephew will learn to speak with a British accent, how cute will that be!He has one daughter who speaks like a Texan, and another who has a Minnesota/North Dakota accent. He tawks like a New Yawka, and my SIL is a valley girl from California. What a family!:lmao:

Anyway, that's my way of possibly meeting Kaz some day soon. I wonder if she's on one of her frequent vacays...she hasn't posted in a while.

Kazzie, we miss you!

And I miss you gals too. Nope I'm not away just in denial and depression - it looks like my DH won't be able to make our upcoming vacation and I'm just not sure I wanna go without him... :sad1: :sad2: :(

Hey, I'd love to meet you in the UK, Aisling! That would be crazy!!!

Good.. I am not alone in my obsession w/Disney.. lol..

I still can not wait for that cruise!!! Less than 5 mths to go.

OK.. so I weighed in at WW last night. I am down 1.6 more lbs. YEAH!!! and that is after going to Disney for 4 days!!! I was just hoping to weigh the same.

Sooooo now just 33.4 more lbs to go!!!!

Do you think they will have the Pirate and Princess Party in March?? I would LOVE to go to that!!

Is that a Live Strong bracelet on Kara? Is she looking forward to watching the swimmers in the Olympics? Tell her her glasses are COOL! :thumbsup2

Artman, do Nova Scotians have an accent? I'm imagining a Louisiana drawl kind of thing, since the Cajuns came from up there.

She is just a tad toasted there - and that is with the sunscreen

No, the yellow bracelet is their food bracelet - no bracelet - no eaty

they also have purple layarnds that they got with the dorm room key - no key - no sleepy

There are various regional accents within the small province of Nova Scotia. The Cajuns came from the French Acadiens that were expelled from the province by the British in 1755 some later returned. The Acadiens most of whom live on the "French Shore" along the Bay of Fundy and Southern Tip of the province, speak a very interesting form of french that mixes some french and english. The Acadiens are some of the most friendly people you will meet.

At the other end of the province is Cape Breton, whose people have both Scotish (Gaelic) and Native (Mi'kmaq). The accent there is very unique much like a Newfoundlander, you have to pay attention or you may get lost in the conversation. Cape Breton is the true birthplace of the kitchen party, a very musical people.

We live on the south eastern shore in Lunenburg County, and tend to have a bit of a Lunenburger accent, some worst than others. For instance for "Would you like to go with me to Fred's house" my Dad would say "I'm goin or to Fred's house, you commin wit". There is a bit of a twang in a lot of people's speach.

Some of Claudia's family is from Newfoundland, that is a whole different story.

Here is a typical Cape Breton accent.
