I've got lots to say here but had a viewing and it turned into a family day~

Just came by with some bad news....for Mom anyway~

Jimm Hill Media says Disney announced the closing of PI, I think in Sept this year Mom's a real Adventurer's Club nut. Only the clubs are closing - they are re[;acing them with more shops and restaurants to help the traffic flow better between DTD Westside and the Marketplace area.

now that is a real downer. I love me some adventurers club. When I go in Aug I'll have to catch a last show & find out if they will re-locate. Oh well.

They cant close the Adventurer's Club. I LOVE that place. That place was around when I was too young to UNDERSTAND the jokes. I would go and sit w/my parents and be confused as to WHY everyone was laughing. Now that I am old enough to get them, I want it to stay. We are talking 20 yrs that club has been around AT LEAST.

I have a trip planned in July. I guess I will have to make sure that I am there each night to get my fill.

This is such a sad sad day.

I have to trust Disney that they know what they're doing, but it's hard to see how closing all those clubs in PI is a good thing. What's left for adult entertainment, besides Jellyrolls?? Will they be shutting everything down at the same time? PI is going to be a ghost town.

Tig, how's Dad after the funeral of his friend? Sad day, I'm sure.

I am just so freakin sad. JellyRoll isnt that easy to get to considering its at the Boardwalk.. Unless you stay at one of those Epcot resorts, adult evening entertainment just went down the tubes.

I plan on bringing Brian to see the Adventurer's Club this July before it no longer exists. Its sad that he will not get to experience it over and over again as I have. I almost feel guilty getting him hooked, knowing its going to end real soon.

I wish Disney would place it somewhere else, seeing as how its SO freakin popular. I can hardly get a seat when I go in there!

By the responses, these clubs are popular. Also, no matter when you go there's a crowd.

IF you read the article, it says weekends are fine - weekdays are dead.

I have only gone in there with my Mom and Rose. I amd happy having HOB, Cirque and all the shopping and streetmosphere you get without ever having to go into the clubs. I've seen the clubs empty, it's kinda sad~

PI itself is only the six clubs. There are already cool shops down that strip - people crowd the parking lot to go around PI instead of simply going thru...there are lots of reasons why this change is needed. It'll help DTD inthe long run.

I was thinking this would happen back when they opened the laugh floor at MK and close the surf bar. There really is no need for Disney to have two comedy clubs. For all your sakes I hope they find a place to move the AC. It's absolutely the only club over there worth saving or even moving~

Dad's doing ok. I've been hanging out with him to keep him busy today. Tomorrow John and I are going to the beach with him. It's gonna be hard to fill a hole that losing an everyday for 50 years buddy has made.

Yea, I have ressies at SOG for the 4th of Aug for 3 nights. We are working on the skating really steady so by the end of Nationals I will need a Disney fix.

I have your skates. If you will be home tomorrow I can drop them around 11:30 ish on my way home from work.

Good Morning All!!! Artie...i LOVE the property you are buying. VERY AWESOME!!! Friends of mine here just bought AKL DVC while they were in Orlando last month.....uggghhh - i SOOOO want to buy that, but can't convince DH that's a good idea....hummmmmm - maybe this is something i just do on my own!!!!

hope all are having a great week & getting ready for the 4th - i am REALLY surprized that Gilroy is allowing fireworks....Watsonville is absolutely NOT allowing any - even a sparkler on the beach is a $1K fine! but after driving thru the charred areas on Hecker Pass (the mtn i take to work each day) i can see why!!!
