NYE at the resorts (not at parks)

Are there typically any special family New Year's Eve activities planned for the resorts? We'll be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, but we have those pesky DVC Gold APs, so we are blacked out of the parks that day. We would be open to activities at any resort or resort area, such as the Boardwalk or Disney Springs. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Dtd was quite lively when we went. That being said, ALL of the resort areas were a nightmare as far as crowds and traffic. I assumed it would be crowded, but had no idea of the actuality. If you like that environment, you will be happy. If you get claustrophobic, not so much.

I do not recall any special events during the day at Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo) that were different from the activities it usually has but at night there was a very good band in the lobby.

It has been 3 years since we've stayed there, but there was a party on the Village Green on the Boardwalk that was very nice.

Thanks for the replies! A band in the lobby or a party on the Boardwalk lawn would be just the kind of things we would be looking for. I'm also hoping that maybe the Kidani Community Hall might have something fun for the kids. I'm sure we'll have fun no matter what we get into!
