As others have said, Times Sqaure, as well as Rockerfeller (sp?) Center food is higher priced than the rest of the City. However, I have to say that Juniors is very good. They are behind The Marquis. There is also The View in The Marquis as well. It's a revolving restaurant.
We usually go in the City during the holiday time as well. Over the past few years, we have seen the crowds increase. Be prepared to feel like a sardine in some places ( i.e. The Christmas tree and ice skating rink). The M&M store and The Hershey store are nice to see, but both have had very long lines just to get into them. THe M&M store had a line around the block the last time we were there.
If you go into Macy's to see Santa, you may want to think about hitting it first thing in the morning. There can be a very long wait time (like a few hours). Make sure though, to look at the beautiful window displays. Macy's isn't the only one that does them. Anyone know of the other stores that have them? I don't remember the others.
I'm guessing that you will be taking a taxi or other service to The Marquis. That's actually good. The Marquis is currently renovating their underground parking garage and are parking the cars off site. DH and I are attending a conference there in September and were told about the parking situation.
Hope you enjoy your trip. NYC during the holiday season can be crowded, but can be fun as well.
